    So this is $500-$700 more than a Longines Hydroconquest ... so an unknown brand vs. a Longines .. this would have to be a long think for me ... but as always I appreciate you bringing us a new brand.

      @@CanadianBeachcomber yeah I get that but I think Dan knew, when he presented this piece and asked for opinions the kind of reception it would get. A misaligned bezel, fluff under the dial, a badly regulated movement and a dive style watch relabeled as a boating watch for 2000 dollars, and all of this when watch sizes are shrinking not getting bigger? It was never going to be well received mate but I don't think Dan will be offended, he knows everybody appreciates his reviews.

      @@CanadianBeachcomber totally agree Chris. It just surprised me that a company can so misjudge the market like that. I honestly think that watch design is starting to stagnate, hence the market's reliance on homages and reissues. Maybe this company thinks it's giving us what we want, I don't know but two grand ?!! Unregulated watch that runs at +23, a watch that is diver style, but with lume worse than 50$ watches. And all that for 2000$? No thank you. If I want specs like that, I'll get an upgrade on that and buy a Vostok.
    I don't want to be a hater, but you just cannot sell that for 2000$.

  • @brianmsahin

    Great review!! £1500! That's worth more than my yacht! Which reminds me I must bring it to the pond for a little sailing. 🤣 I see that they're direct selling, cutting out the middle man.....Spaghetti Scametti with knobs on! Of course the watches are OK quality, but £500 will be a realistic price as the aftermarket price on these will be £200. Ive been noticing how fast microbrands lose their value, even limited editions can be found less than half price 6 months later on eBay. As opposed to the €1450 I was quoted for a pristine Seiko Monster 2nd gen! Stick with the tried and trusted, or else get really great value from one of the better Ali Express brands. Which reminds me, my Heimdallr Red Monster arrived at last...an absolutely fantastic watch for a hundred quid!

    @waynesellers4078 Před 3 lety +4

    A cosc formex or this, no contest sorry. Honestly I can't see this being worth more than 400 and that's only because of the movement, put an NH35 in it and it's a 100-200 watch.

    • @marw8383

  • @AlexanderB.
    @AlexanderB. Před 3 lety +4

    Wait, how much is this watch? There are two issues killing this for me. A movement that's running at +23, this makes the whole Swiss made thing pointless. The second thing is the mineral crystal see through case back. I mean it's an acceptable and very understandable cost saving measure, but it's unacceptable at this price point, I'm afraid. A closed caseback would have been much better.

    • @davemck1887
      @davemck1887 Před 3 lety

      Hey Alexander. I think there are too many businessmen going around building up watch brands nowadays mate. For me it started when Seiko management became more about the money and less about the buyer. It's as if we're just cash cows now. If we don't buy it someone else will seems to be their credo nowadays. Watchmaking used to be a passion not a business model.

    Really interesting watch. The case is a masterpiece and the dial is quite good. All these intricate details is a proof of Swiss quality and is the distinctive sign of Swiss manufacture. But to be honest the watch seems to me a bit overpriced and the issue with the movement (+25 sec/day) in a $1500 watch is unacceptable. Nevertheless this a new piece and a new brand which is worth showing. At the end, that price its in the line of fire 🔥, its perhaps the most competitive segment in the mechanical watch industry.
