    The amazing thing here is that not only is Faith doing notably better against Angelus toe-to-toe than Buffy ever did, she's doing it while flying higher than a kite on the sedatives she ingested prior to the fight so that she could bait Angelus into drinking them when he bit her. She lost /deliberately/.

      @juliankanzuki2013 Před rokem +19

      yeah she could have killed him several times, but realised the only way to take him down alive was to drug herslelf and let him bite her. Faith really was on the same level as buffy, the main reason she did better than buffy fighting Angelus is that Angelus knew buffy so much better and could read her like an open book, while Faith was still unpredictable to him.

      @Elizalustof Před rokem +14

      Angelous was never good against any of the three slayers he fought - Kendra, Buffy & Faith beat him one on one - they did it without much struggle in terms of physical skill. Look how easily Kendra trapped him in that cage and how Faith almost staked him in “revelations” - Buffy held back because of her feelings before killing him at the end of season 2. I never really understood why he got his own show as such a badass fighter when he was really just a vampire serial murderer. Spike however was the fighter who enjoyed getting into fights he may not win so he had nothing to lose.

    • @Jeff_Pryce
      @Jeff_Pryce Před rokem +8

      @@Elizalustof That’s because you don’t understand the character and make no effort to. Both Angel and Spike have huge body counts.
      Angel got his own show because his story is about redemption, change and finding hope in the face of darkness. He has his fighting skills because Whistler trained him properly as a warrior, not to mention he had previous fighting skills from over 150 years. He’s a larger than life character whose story successfully expanded beyond the realm of the show he was created for.

    Faith came from a very broken home most likely sexually abused as a child I kinda picked up on it because it takes a survivor to know a survivor without words.
    Buffy had a normal childhood definitely spoiled she didn’t like being a Slayer Faith reveled in it because she knew she could help people while also having power to protect herself from being hurt again. What scares Faith was Kakistos. That ugly mofo
    Faith Lehane is what Spider-Man is extremely relatable.

      I disagree but not trying to alter your perception. Just stating mine.
      1. The anti-violence spell kept a carnage to a minimum(Lorne even has a line stating this.
      2. He did do a number on Faith even though she was drugged and had been beaten by the beast.
      3. Imo he definitely wasn't very different because Angelus had even more sinister lines in Angel. "I like my girls to lie still." Necrophilia joke or statement.
      4. He had the entity controlling Cordy threatening to put his soul back, Team Angel trying to do the same, & his reaction to figuring out Faith was the slayer in town speaks volumes.
      5. I'm sure there's differences but to say two different people is a stretch for me. Different styles or intentions of the writing, differences in circumstances for the character, also S4 was a mess because Charisma hiding her pregnancy altered the storyline I read.

    @primallove Před 3 lety +60

    Sometimes I think they should have just put Angel out of his misery.
    The first time Willow restored his soul, she said she was pulling it from "the Ether". If I'm correct, according to every reference I've heard to such a place in any lore, that would mean Angel's soul is at peace when it is removed from his body by his curse. It isn't suffering nor does it feel pleasure; it is completely unconscious.
    Bringing him back not only puts him at risk of losing his soul again, leaving Angelus free to hurt people, but it also forces him to live with the guilt and shame of the things Angelus did. Angel shouldn't have to live with that guilt, because he is not responsible for what Angelus does. They are two different entities, only sharing a mind and body _when_ they occupy the same mind and body.
    Angel's quest for redemption is futile, no matter what he does, because those were not his crimes to make amends for. But I understand that he can't help it, because as long as he shares a mind with Angelus, those experiences are as personal to him as his own.
    They should have probably killed Angelus, but then again, the world is safer with Angel alive.

Let's be honest here Spike is the stronger vampire than Angelus. Spike not only beats Angel on a one on one fight he also killed 2 slayers and always puts up good fights against opponants that Angelus/Angel would easily lose to like Buffy, Kendra and Faith. True Buffy fans know that Faith could’ve dusted him within 5 minutes of this fight. she’s The Slayer, don’t care how great Angel/Angelus is, the chances are in Faiths favor because she’s a stronger faster more skilled fighter than him. She held back so that she could save him just like he held back to save her in season 1….which was another fight she could’ve dusted him in but she didn’t want to kill him, she wanted him to kill her.

      She's also high as a kite because of the Orpheus she took to make Angelus fall into a metaphysical coma.

      I wouldn’t count Angel/Angelus out tho.. Faith has the strength but Angel has the experience.. he’s 240+ years old. That means he’s gone through this world as a vampire being hunter for that many years. That takes cunning and skill. Faith has never really gone up against a big bad truly on her own. In fact, she was only a slayer for 8 months before she went evil.. then she murdered humans and a couple of demons all weaker than her. When she turned good again she went to jail. Angel has fought big strong demons on his own before as well as taken on buffy a few times and faith! He has a lot of experience fighting. So if it really came down to it.. Faith strength is an advantage but Angels experience is too.. and It were to be Angelus then his ruthlessness would be another advantage.

      I’m a true Buffy fan, and you’re WAY off base. Angelus is the most feared vampire in history. Aside from being 346 years old (adding the century he spent in hell), he’s also cunning, deceptive, ruthless and frighteningly fast and strong. And he’s a master at mind games. There were several points here where Angelus could have killed Faith, but he was so full of himself that he wanted to “play” with her first. If he didn’t insist on toying with his food, Faith would have been dead.

      If you say you’re a true buffy fan then I’d say I share that same title and I agree with the other guy that if faith wanted to kill him he would be dead.
      Angelous is a bit of a legend but hardly the most feared vampire in history. The master has a better following then him not to mention spike has killed two slayers whilst angel has killed none. It’s even stated in the next episode faith is literally allowing him to win the fight in order to get him to bite her. Not to mention by the end of the fight she beat him to the ground hard whilst all this time fighting she had a tranquiliser in her blood system which shows how strong she is against angel. So had she had the intention to kill him and nothing in her blood system he would be dead quick.
      It’s the same as buffy in the season 2 finale.
      When she was fighting Angelus she was losing the fight because she was holding back waiting for willows curse to work but when she knew she couldn’t wait anymore and Angelus struck her in the face with the sword, she fought back and won the fight in under 30 seconds.
      So if faith wanted him dead he would be - she would have won the fight

      Angelus is one of the worst recorded vampires in history. The fact he is also cunning and demoralizes to get into his victims heads indicates Angelus is a cut above and a slayer isn't guaranteed victory.

    Connor can't beat Faith because he couldn't get no punch in except for that cheap shot. At least Angelus got some punches and kicks on Faith.

    Faith has not had a good month first the Beast nearly beats her to death, then Angelus drinks her blood and they go on a weird trip then she goes back to Sunnydale and gets beaten by Caleb then she gets blown up.

      Way too many movies suggest so. I accept the idea that consuming blood keeps their bodies alive so immediately after feeding, a vamp should be able to perform. Cuz the blood's effect is most fresh. But idk, there's a lot of lore and novels to read through. Just not twilight. Real vamps don't sparkle.

      He took more of a beating because he knew Faith wanted to die, not win, so he did it to save her. Faith does the same thing here. Takes the blows vs risking killing Angelus/Angel.

    Every time Eliza is replaced by a stunt-double it is very noticeable, it makes you lose your immersion in the TV show. This way of doing the fight scenes mixing Actors and stunt doubles is terrible.
