How to Get to the Brooklyn Bridge from High Street Subway Station (A)(C)

- The High Street Subway Station may be the closest exit for the Brooklyn Bridge, but the pedestrian entrance is not the easiest to find. In this video, I show the most convenient way to get to the Brooklyn Bridge, and the difference between the three subway exits. The most convenient exit is Cadman Plaza E at Red Cross Place, and the bridge entrance is two short blocks away.

You are AWESOME, AK! ❤ You mentioned on a livestream about making a dedicated video on how get to the Brooklyn Bridge efficiently and safely from the subway exit, and you delivered! You also captured some people taking the shortcut by crossing the busy street to get to the bridge. 😰 You're saving people time and their lives with this excellent, informative video. ⭐ Thank you for your dedication and your care for people's well-being, AK! 🤗
You're welcome! It's such a confusing mess to get to the Brooklyn Bridge from the subway station.
This is the best version!
Your videos are always so helpful and extremely educational. I truly believe you should write books on how to visit or tour or explore New York.
Thank you so much
Thanks for showing this, i wanna celebrate my 70th birthday in May on the brooklyn bridge, i shall take the short way in the hope the escalator shall work, i have problems with my legs, but i want to do this 😄
That's awesome! I think the escalator should be working at that time
This is funny bc I have to do exactly this on my trip in February. I was planning on walking Manhattan Bridge, and taking that subway back to my hotel. So this was nice to know!!
Hi !!! I’m so happy that I got to see your video on how to get to the Brooklyn Bridge pedestrian crossing. I followed your instructions to that T and it worked out just perfectly!!! Good thing I got to see your steps for I could see them in my mind while walking towards the bridge but really, your instructions are just perfect!!! Yes, still plenty of construction going on down in the metro area as well as on the streets but I guess that’s a never ending job. Still I love NY and just wanted to say “Thank you” for posting this video on the easiest way to get to the Brooklyn bridge.
Thank you so much for the useful information! It’s really helpful!
Good to see my old neighborhood once again. Lived and worked in Brooklyn Heights for some twenty years, now retired and moved away.
If you came up out of the main entrance you should come out on Cadman Plaza West, then you just walk through the park to that same entrance. It’s a whole lot nicer than walking the way you did. Then again, I haven’t been there in a few years so with all the construction who knows. But that’s the way I always told people to go.
Really enjoy your videos, especially the ones taken in and around, The Heights.
You're welcome! The Cadman Plaza West exit is convenient if you know the trick to walk through the park. Otherwise, it's very confusing.
Do you miss NY? How often do you visit? I've never lived in NY but I try to visit at least ever 3 years at least. NY is just a beautiful place.
The High Street Subway Station was my first ever station I remember being in as a child. Precious memories.
No escalator service (climbing all those stairs) is going to bad for the elderly, disabled or baby strollers. Not cool at all. Thanks for sharing this information.
Yes and that is my problem i hope the escalator shall work when i Come in may
It's rather inconvenient but it should be up and running soon!
Is the escalator up and running now? (I'm bringing a group of 32 elderly there in a weeks time...)
Thank you, Ak, this is indeed Very helpful.😊👍🏻
Ty for this.. really helpful
You're welcome!
Very helpful for my future trip to NYC. thank you
Thanks Ken! Very helpful tip!
Informational and helpful advices for the first time New York visitors😎Thank you for sharing A K 🙂👍!!!
You're welcome, glad you enjoyed it!
Dude your a hero i literally almost took the wrong train when boarding believing it was taking me to the brooklyn bridge aint not telling where i would've end up without looking at this
Tk, very appreciated 👍
Its kind of special that the US was frontrunner on basically everything in the world at one point. Now when i look in Scandinavia or for example the Netherlands things are much more modern especially when it comes to transport. Not wanting to hate on the US...In a sense the old school stations have some sort of nice old school feel to them. It looked pretty clean though i have to say,
Beautiful
13:32 Stolen skies 19:14 Great video thanks!
Thank you AK , it looks very confusing and I can see how someone would try crossing highways to get to the bridge , very dangerous , I hope the subway construction improves for the better 😊
You're welcome! I hope the area gets easier for future visits!
This is beautiful.
Thanks!
@@ActionKid Welcome.
Going through the park is super easy to get there and crossing the wide street is not a big deal with the traffic light. I worked in DUMBO for years and this was part of my walk to work. Too bad there are not more helpful signs. Love your videos!😃
Yep, the trick is to walk through the park!
Thanks AK
This was very informative. I noticed none of the accesses were ADA compliant. Hopefully the city will address the issue.
Good morning action kid
You sure did an excellent job of explaining getting to the Brooklyn Bridge. A bit confusing to a tourist. If I come to NewYork I will hire you as my private tour guide.
Hope you know how to get to the Brooklyn Bridge now!
Thank you my friend for sharing good video. I wish my friend a good and successful day. Greetings from Vietnam to you..🇻🇳🇻🇳👍
I'm not coming to America but I enjoy walking with you. Hi from New Zealand. I was in L.A in about '88 when I was a kid.
Excellent
Take the F train to Jay Street and walk up Tillery Street to the entrance. Very simple
Ken was telling us how to get there from A train station
Wow nice
There are a lot of books touristiques how to get around towns. You should try
To other people that aren’t from the city, while it may not seem hard, it’s very difficult to navigate New York City, especially the more crowded areas like Downtown Brooklyn & Lower Manhattan, When I was younger, it took me some time but I eventually got the hang of it.
Yes, it can be very confusing to navigate the city unless you're familiar with it.
Lower Manhattan is especially confusing since it doesn't have a strict grid system.
@@mariowalker9048 I can definitely agree with this, one time years ago I was down by the World Trade Center memorial in Lower Manhattan, it took me so freaking long to find the Subway Station I was looking for, I ended up walking around the former grounds of the North & South Towers like a horse without a head.
I like the hour colors 12 to afternoon .
I v seen in Woody Allen movie's those colors 😍
GM.....sorry I was jogging 👍🤓
29:28 is a phenomenon called desired path, people don't like those long winded restrictions and will try to bypass them even if it means risks.
That's right! Desired path
Novembre in N Y is nice
People should get to the Brooklyn bridge from the Brooklyn bridge Subway station in Lower mahattan
You should watch the marathon today
Hi 👋 angel
damn its crazy , whys there 2 springs in NY hah
Are you back to NY?
I got lucky my first visit. I somehow went right to the hidden entrance to the bridge.
Excellent!
Are you gonna be in or filming the marathon
🙂😀
✌🏻
when visiting the Brooklyn Bridge I got to the bridge from the York Street station.
It’s definitely walkable, but High Street is closer.
@@loveisreal4296 Yes it is, but it was only a 5 minute walk to find the stairs to the bridge from York Street. As their about to close the closest exit for the bridge at high street due to construction York street for me is still my preferred option.
@@paulcrowe905 Try exiting Cadman Plaza West at High Street station and just walk through the park. It’s literally like a 3 minute walk. It is the closest exit. I just think he was trying to make the point that you wouldn’t know to walk through the park (lack of signs to direct you) and therefore it can be confusing if you’re not familiar. Personally depending on the train I am on is what determines where I get off. If I’m on the 2 train I get off at Clark Street. If I’m on the N then Borough Hall….etc.
Maybe they'll have temp signage when that exit is closed
Hello
School bus ? Is Sunday ?🤔
Oh no it's dangerous!!😵
It's the subway station that's borked (f'd up). Either move the station or move the bridge.
Best to go across from manhattan lol
No signage makes life more fun, you don't want to turn your city into another Disneyland
You can also take the F train to Jay Street. It’s much easier from that station
The A, C, and R trains also stop there. It's more straightforward to get to Tillary Street but it's still a farther walk than finding your way to the Brooklyn Bridge staircase from High Street.
Find the Brooklyn Bridge USE YOUR DAMN PHONE
Might I add a thing or two...if I were just like you, my dude...I'd be lost and confused, oooh...SMH...LOL! This video should've stopped near the 8-minute mark & you should've called this something else entirely...the wrong way leads to other things you don't want to see...remember these words & have a good night, everybody...peace on the AC-K, y'all!
This N Y metro is a terrible machine
