- How about 1100 likes/comments for a brand new DSP tries it? In this video we'll be exploring Phil's attempt at PC gaming.
This is a video that I've wanted to make for a while when it comes to DSP. DarksydePhil automatically goes into caveman mode as soon as he stumbles upon any interface he's not familiar with. It's actually quite fascinating to see DSPgaming struggle in a menu and then he'll immediately blame everything but himself. So Phil first had a PC that kept crashing when he tried to do "video editing" which apparently pushes the system to the limit. Then he sent Chris and Teo some money and they built him a PC which apparently had a ton of issues. Then 3 years later he went with professionals and bough the famous 3K lemon. In this video you'll get to see both PCs in action. Hope you guys enjoy my latest DSP tries it!

for 3k and brains, you could easily get a true beast of a pc
Yeah. That's a nice CPU, 16GB Ram and 3 1080tis right there. Of course, Phil doesn't know that because he is a fucking idiot
I spent about $1200 building my own this year. Turned out pretty good for my first time building one.
Alxmir23 I spent under 2k and it was only more expensive because I wanted to fill it with rgb lighting lololol
Ooooh snap dat shit must light up like a christmas festival. I didn't care for that lol just got a black case with a mountain of USB ports on it.
3k? Dude, I could build 2 beast PCs for that much
To be fair I'm not a tech guy... Only difference is that I don't brag about knowing something I barely understand.
OMG A WHITE MALE !!! XD
"I used to build pc for a hobby" still don't know how to change ingame setting.
Squash Face If that's the case, then you're on the right track. You most likely don't try showing off and bragging, and you're most likely not a liar.
@@barney993 building a car.

“Stop giving fucking advice you know nothing about” lmao
"This game looks choppy, it might be because the frame rate is so high" fucking lol
It's a known fact that you also get a ton of pawp in when playing over 30 fps
Phil tryin to go above 60 fps on a 60hz screen
I had to pause and replay that bit so many times. This guy is so unbelievably stupid it's astounding
"I need that for video editing"
That's the funniest thing in the entire video
I'm still waiting for Phil to edit one of his playthroughs. It's never going to happen though. His views could fall to 100 per video and he won't do it. It's all about that record, stop and upload!
im honestly surprised he could even figure out how to record and upload videos at all
also needs it to check his email, quite demanding it is.
DSP then: 'i need that for video editing'
DSP in june, 2018: 'editing videos and cutting out the bad stuff/downtime is easy. doing raw unscripted unedited video game footage like me is way more difficult and takes way more work'
Wrong, the funniest thing in the video is where he says "I'm not an idiot", right before he says 50fps is too high and the cause of the inconsistent frame pacing, and that he's sure there's a menu option to reduce "jitter" (even though his knowledge is so lacking that a selection of antialiasing options confused him so much he just turned it all off lol).
To be fair, he did have a point on the TF2 options menu. How is anyone supposed to know that "Model detail" affects the model detail or that "texture detail" affects the texture detail.
You forgot the /s
@@ryansample6016 he forgot the what? and why is your comment sarcastic
kek
This guy is probably a 90s gamers (as seen that he played UT99 and Quake) which would explains why he doesn't know about Anti-aliasing and most stuff at the time.
And then we jumpcut to him having pointed a camcorder at his monitor. While he has fraps open on his desktop.
EIGHT YEAR LEGACY OF CZcams.
THIS IS WHAT FAILURE LOOKS LIKE
This could only have been more stupid if he was also recording with fraps while he recorded with his camera...
Somehow with bandicam watermark on top of the camcorder footage.
FRAPS has been obsolete for years though, even that wouldn't have helped him.
Think the video might be really old, since this was his ready-made computer and the guys who put it together threw fraps in there for him. It still baffles me that he has a program open right there that can record his desktop or whatever he's playing, but instead he goes through the busywork of focusing a camera on his monitor, then moving that footage over to his computer to upload it. He actually does EXTRA WORK just so he doesn't have to spend the 30seconds it takes to figure out what button to press to start recording. And then it results in shit quality video because it's a camcorder.
I mean I can understand if capturing footage from a console is busywork so some goof uses a camcorder, but this is a fucking PC. It's not that hard. And again, it's even dumber since the program is open right infront of him and he doesn't use it. It's like you're holding a can opener in yout hand, but you start clawing the can open with your fingernails.
"This is how you DO ship a PC!" - Gets instantly karma'd on unboxing it, solid gold. Haha.
Yep! He *NEVER* misses an opportunity to shit on people for bad things that have happened in the past, even several YEARS ago, even if they're only trying to help him.~
That part gets me everytime 😂
how much you wanna bet he plugged in his monitor to his motherboard and not his graphics card
JB when I got my new computer a few months ago it had 3 hdmi plugs in back. I plugged into wrong one, realized my mistake plugged into right one. Took about 10 seconds to figure out. This fucker throws his away.
Probably using some on video chip
JB oof my friend built my computer and when I unplugged it to clean it I accidentally did that and I had no idea why it was acting up. Highkey embarrassing when my friend started laughing at me

@@alanchung6843 But he also says he had a lan set up at his moms house to play Unreal Tournament. You can't set up a lan and at least not know the basics of what graphic settings do in a pc game. Especially when the entire purpose of the lan is *to* play pc games.

Wow Phil you're a real class act, calling the two guys that build your pc and even went out of their way to give you free games "amateurs" >.>
He didn't even thank them for the free games...
Knowing Phil it wouldn't surprise me.
Best part was when he went to use Team Fortress 2 to test out his PC for his audience (and failed) when they'd given him Crysis. I mean, what the hell?! XD
That's what you get when you're doing stuff for people that don't give a fuck about you. I'm amazed by the amount of die-hard fans this pillock actually has. People defend him, watch him and pay him on a regular basis. How blind should you be to do this?
I'm no gaming expert, but it's clear why DSP hates PC-gaming: it requires more than zero effort.

Gpu monitoring was not a feature in task manager until later.
armando1is1great I sure do love they added. Unless windows somehow doesn’t recognize my drives.
@@klutzspecter3470 Im still sure Phil just plugged the monitor cable into his mainboard, drawing the shitty integrated graphics of his i7, instead of his GPU.
That explains the ''choppyness''. He is a hobby PC Builder but plugged the cable into the wrong header :D
It's almost as if there's a reason that games after Quake 1 started more and more using dedicated video cards. As if expecting the CPU to do literally everything is a little bit unreasonable.
@@CODA96 Yep, but this wasnt the case back then with his 2011 PC, which he did it correctly, now it's 2023 and ofc, he's still using this PC but refuse to play games on his PC anymore, running Windows 8.1 that was out of support recently, and his capture card broke weeks ago and he likely have to get a new one, which also require Windows 10 and later which he also refuse to upgrade, complaining that it would brick his PC, but also he's even complained that he can't afford a new one because of money (yet again).
DSP fries it
In the early 90's I built pc's with a teacher in elementary school...doesn't mean I know everything or even most stuff about PC gaming.
^ This.
You can recognize parts and where they slot but not necessarily what parts are fantastic for specific workloads.
"they offered to make me a computer, so I sent them some money" - I like how DSP tries to make it sound like it was a special thing they offered him because he's a CZcams celebrity but actually all he's describing here is buying a custom-built computer.
DSP is like the kid who claims these big, ridiculous things that no one believes.
I fucking love that he removes the foam and he's completely out of breath. He probably thinks that's a weeks worth of exercise. In his mind, when you go to the gym, there are only two activities; pulling foam, and carrying grocery bags.
I'm 5' 10", weigh about 260 pounds, and even I could take that stuff out without breaking a sweat. Does Phil subsist on an all-Cheeto diet or something?
Legit got an ad for gout medicine on Amazon in this video
"You have to have lots of patience to play pc games"
I have no patience. That's why my games have virtually no loading time on my PC.
I love how he says that he built PCs and plays PC games back then yet he couldn't fucking understand how to crouch jump in Half-Life....
I love how the TF2 server browser is actively not letting him in. It’s like PC gaming knows who he is and it’s like, “Nah, you stay there.”
It would have let him in if he clicked "join game" instead of just clicking everywhere.

I feel as if the $3000 PC turned out worse than the PC he got from his two fans.
Speaking of, did any of those guys respond to Phil? Cause I'd be pissed if I was called out for having a 'shit PC' sent to an icon of mine.
The PC was shit tho. It had parts that were outdated by 2012. Sorry for the necro, couldn't resist
one of the most satisfying vids ever was hearing his voice when he first found out he couldnt run 1080p on his 3k cpu. I have a 6 year old cpu that can still run games today at max, mind you I upgraded my graphix card lol . Also cool to see my comment in the vid
Yeah but he was trying to stream with it at the same time in 1080p 60, encoding that video stream takes up additional cpu cycles unless you offload encoding to the gfx card which I doubt he did.
Offloading to the GPU is so simple that even a toddler could do it... but Phil is clearly too "street smaaaaaht" for that.
I thought your comment was pretty good because you're right. He was talking about how the PC weighed 50 pounds yet Phil was able to bring it up the stairs even though he has a " bad back " which is pretty much his go to excuse for anything that requires him to do some sort of physical labor. And yes I love how defeated he sounds at 20:30.
One of his fans told him to use Shadowplay to record, but Phil found it "too complicated". Also his 2nd PC had a six core CPU on a X79 beast mode motherboard as he calls it but runs it all on stock.
Generally it's better to offload to the CPU now especially that we have affordable, high thread count CPUs.
"I'm a PC expert. I used to build gaming PCs."
Doesn't know what basic graphical settings do or how framerate works.

The reason why Rage was so chawpy is that he set video stream encoding to CPU instead of GPU. This and only this. Btw Rage is poorly optimized so it's not really a good game to benchmark.
To my understanding its also not a great idea to play a game, record and stream all from one machine, especially in high quality/resolution.
Dude stfu you dont know anything you weeb ahahahahahhaaaaaa
It's possible but you need two ssd drives and 2 GPUs
And ofc more than 4 cores.
Rage is a decent game, just not optimized.
The id5 Tweaker can fix that though
3:43 "Because this is my source of income, I'm going to claim this as a write-off for my taxes next year."
Oh, but NOW he's saying that he doesn't own a business. If that were actually true, he could not write this computer off on his taxes. Someone's being audited.
Not trying to defend DSP here but, you don't need to have a business to write stuff off for taxes. Self Employment allows it, which he is.
5:19 I like how even with a brand new PC he still aims his camcorder at his monitor. You'd think somebody who attempts to make a living off of the content he produces would aim for quality video.
Yeah that's kinda what I was thinking. He could have easily just used FRAPS to record everything directly from his PC but nah he's just going to point a camera at his TV. My favorite part is that there's a glare from an open window which he acknowledges but nah keep that window open. I've just never understood why he's always in such a rush when it comes to recording videos. Everything is always on the first try with him.
Holy shit I just realized he had FRAPS installed and still decided to point a camera at his monitor??
Yeah that's Phil for ya! Not only that but my favorite part was when he tried to get some team fortress 2 matches going on and he simply couldn't do so the entire video was just him staring at the same menu for 10 minutes straight. Not only that but I noticed just now that if you look closely from 7:17 to 7:35 you can see him bobbing up and down like crazy in the background. Overall it's a shame that we don't get material like this anymore because of that good old stream chat.
@@SomaJuliusCruz what's the deal with the bobbing?
Notice how he's on a carpet, with socks on, touching around in the PC.
Modern pc components have little issue with static. Even though he's dumb and doing it that way isn't recommended, it would take a monstrous amount of static to damage the components

He could've looked all that up before recording, instead he made himself look like an idiot.
One thing I've never understood about Phil is that sometimes he'll begin recording and a few minutes into the video he'll say or do something that a normal human being will edit out but Phil just keeps it going until the very end. He records everything in one try and there is zero preparation beforehand. I don't know if it's greed from his part or lazyness but it just screams amateur and unprofessional.
He claims that it's part of his "raw, unedited content" style. That's a load of bullshit though.
The only thing he knows how to look up is where the best stuff is in a game, and women's skirts.

This CPU is perfectly fine btw, wtf. Betting on tons of background bloatware preinstalled by the company that build it, power saving power plan, half of cores parked lol. What the hell is he even using to record this shit?
legit hes recording with a camera up to the montior, but he has a dedicated recording software running in the background
Skip the cutscenes in an rpg boys, cause we all know story in an rpg doesn't matter.
Shoulda done some research before spending 3k ... but I guess maybe he already knew since he used to build pcs as a hobby 🤔
Do the guys who built his first pc have a CZcams channel or a video of them defending themselves from phils hate?
I think they do
"Don't send me friends request" but he'll sure let you send him money.
it wasn't registering the GPU, knowing Phil he probably had his HDMI port in the Integrated graphics card slot, but watching him whine about "it's Chawpyy!" is always amusing.
Its hilarious it doesn't even show the gpu on the task manager u would think he would notice it but its dsp we talkin about.
In reality, the GPU Monitoring doesnt exist in Task Manager until Windows 10 (version 1703/1709 or later like Windows 11), before that, GPU monitoring was in Resource Monitor instead.
Beside that, some system (such as the laptop that have dual switchable GPU), even with correct drivers, it may not show at all.

"i know nothing about adding friends." Phil is one of the most honest people on the internet guys!
Building a PC for gaming is nearly impossible to fail at nowadays. Modern motherboards clearly point out what goes where and sites like pcpartpicker let you gather, compare and order every part you need.
The ONLY time I fucked up was when I ordered a skylake CPU without paying attention to the socket type and had to get a new motherboard to go with it, didn't even need to reformat.

He probably broke the 3k PC by taking out the foam lol.
Why would he care "what we're dealing with" when he doesn't have a clue what anything but resolution is?
How does someone spend $3,000 on a pc and still not get good performance? What a dunce.
How were people ever nice to this guy , he took the people that built this PC and installed free games for him for a ride

Probably DSP fanboys or people who think it's you.
dsp bots XD
Factually wrong at some parts, thats why the dislikes. Like "say thanks for the free game", when he paid 3k like an idiot or how video rendering isn't a system intensive process. Just kills the mood when you're trying to have fun watching an idiot like DSP stumble through shit and then there's added commentary by the video editor who's making equal dumb commentary.
Yea, I dunno where that came from. Rendering makes my processor scream in agony (or was it the graphics card? I can't remember right now)
You're not supposed to hit thumbs down if you don't like DSP?

let me fucking guess, he didn't install graphics drivers or something and that's why it looked like shit on both expensive as balls systems
Or cheap used video card
Mind you on the 2nd PC, he was trying to record, stream at 1080P, and play an unoptimize game all at the same time! And has the audacity to say that PC is a lemon! SMH
I mean he has fraps installed and running and still he is recording with a fucking camcorder pointed at his monitor, and I know fraps has an impact on performance but with the monster of a pc he bought that should be no problem right?
TAX FORESHADOWING
He's so fucking inept. I can take that, but it really pisses me off when he blames it on PC gaming. I am a PC gamer and will forever be. I don't like playing on console, but I don't have anything against it, I don't need to mock it.
I love that videos showing how stupid DSP is get significantly more views than actual videos from DSP.
The blue USB ports are the Blueberry scented version. They make the computer smell nice when you use it
He's right with the RAM. The proper amount of RAM is 8. Going past that means the computer will run TOO fast.
Its does take A LOT of patience to play PC. You have to wait to install the game and then wait to load in. Not nearly as fast as console dood.
Really like the wind blowing into the mic during the lemon unboxing

It wasnt a gaming PC it was a Server PC, he made the wrong choices when setting up the games as well.
@@ToadJones It's actually a high-end Gaming PC because of Core i7-4930K he used, the Server one must used a Xeon CPU instead.
The real reason why performance issues happens is because of RAGE isn't well optimized, aswell OBS was recording on x264 instead of NVENC encorder, causing lots of CPU usage.
Watching this, makes me appreciate having a pc that can play games..
He clearly unseated his graphics card when tearing the foam out and didn't think to make sure everything in there was seated correctly. Hence the GPU not showing in task manager and his CPU maxing out (game is using the iGPU)
No
Actually, the Intel HD does shown up on Task Manager, but GPU Monitoring isn't a thing until Windows 10 version 170x or later.
The real reason is because of OBS was recording on x264 encoding instead of NVENC, causing performance problems along with RAGE engine (which is id Tech 5), isnt well optimized.
Wait he have fraps on the desktop. Why the hell does he still uses the camera?
I love coming back to this video, gives a short and deep look at his personality. Plus, I love the lemon build.
Dude, even TODAY you'd get a BEAST PC for even 1k if you actually research and know what you're doing
Yeah that's true. I was able to build my current beast gaming PC for around $600 if I recall correctly but I did order all the parts and then assembled it myself. Only took me a couple of hours and that same day I was streaming from my new PC. I think the whole 3k Lemon PC arc was just karma for Phil. He wouldn't shut the fuck up about how Chris and Teo messed up his previous PC so the 3k lemon ended up being worse than his previous PC which he threw away btw because one of the ram sticks went bad or something like that.
I showed my dad the down the rabbit hole episode about DSP, then the video of him pouring oil down the toilet, and then this. Thank you.
I’m about to upgrade my PC so I’m watching this for motivation.

Hey don't insult your dog
I'm on a watching DSP hate videos spree and I think the comments are my favorite part. Even though these videos are couple years old, gives you the chance to see he has just gotten worse and worse and he can't keep his lies straight at all
His computer is overpriced, sure.
But the reason he couldn't play is because he was using software encoding to stream/record.
He could easily play at full settings if he used hardware encoding for the stream/record.
Software encoding eats too much cpu usage, specially at 60fps.
Additionally, for best performance he could always hook up his old computer with his capture device and use that pc for streaming and the new pc for playing only.
But, since the money he just burned wasn't earned through hard work, he doesn't ever have to learn how to value stuff and work around issues, instead just throw the pc into the corner and move on as if he didn't just throw 3k away.
And because it’s a server pc
Though it doesn´t take that much more to make it a gaming one.
If the fat fuck already spent 3k on it, he could´ve spent some more for upgrades.
On the other hand, who buys a 3k-priced server-pc when you want a gaming pc.
whats hes pc specs lol probably slow as shit now
Wow, the guy even gave him some games. That was nice of him. I'm sure Phil was very thankful and good to him after this.

I get that he was frustrated but being all passive-aggressive towards the people who built his stupid pc really was a dick move only a person like Phil would pull off.
Then again, I like the idea that his fans are basically just as incompetent as he is.
I know absolutely nothing about PC specs or any of that but gosh I know that editing videos doesn't require a crap load of high end stuff to work.
My film class in highschool we used Macs to edit. I've edited stuff on labtops. Afraid he'd push a PC to it's limits editing. Editing he never does.

I also love that they did all that stuff for him and installed a bunch a games for him for free and not ONCE did he say thank you in the video to them! Proves he's just an arsehat to everyone.
I'm NOT a tech expert by any means but... If my pc doesn't detect one of my ram sticks, first thing I'd do is, DUH, open the case, take off the rams, put them back on. No reason to fiddle with anything else
"Server not responding" seems to be a common thing in Source games but just hit "Connect" again in the box that pops up and that usually works. But DSP is DSP sooo, u kno. Great vid
