Honestly i think it's healthy to allow kids to occasionally have a midnight snack they're less likely to feel guilty in the future and have the mental struggle making them feel like they have to eat lots before they get caught. This is just from experience it's hard create a healthy relationship with food but it's even harder to heal a broken relationship with food. ❤

That’s terrible but that also says a lot about your father that he would let her treat you like that. I went through I similar experience with my mother and stepfather

I’m glad someone said it. My son started putting on weight and we had a real look at what we were eating. Nobody was shamed and everybody ate better because of it. It’s not bad to teach health and wellness!
As a former “fat child” mind your business. One damn chocolate covered yogurt isn’t going to give her diabetes!! You have NO IDEA what she eats during the day! Have no idea her activity level! Her diet? Medical status?! My father was a CRUEL person starting at 9 he’d put me on “diets”… by “diets” I’m talking he let me eat 2 bowls of cereal a day and an apple. It never helped. You obviously don't follow them. This is better than eating ice cream or chips. Tru Fru is a healthy snack made from real fruit and premium chocolate. Their fruit is freeze dried to preserve its natural nutritional value. By freeze drying rather than dehydrating 97% of the vitamins, nutrition, taste and texture are locked in.
I think it depends. I don’t have midnight snacks cause I don’t wake up at all and honestly am not hungry. But I love breakfast and I know folks that ask me how I can be hungry so early and they’d rather skip breakfast.
I get hungry every few hours, I always have. If I don’t eat, I get really painful stomach cramps, to the point where I wake up in the middle of the night. I was obese in my teens and twenties, because I would eat three full meals a day and over snack. I finally got down to a healthy weight, and have kept the weight off for five years now. All I did was stop eating meals. I’m no hungrier than I was before. I just eat 5-6 snacks a day, instead of 3 full meals.
@@ILoveYou-rv3pd that's what I'm currently doing too. I eat smaller portions more often throughout the day and I try to pick crunchy items such as raw veggies so I take care of my crunchy craving
They usually just thirsty. Breaking the fast early with sugar doesn't help that insulin. I know y'all working on better eating habits so it's just some advice since you talk openly about it. She's already in the obesity category so unfortunately her cravings can't be given into at night. If you see she keeps getting hungry in the middle of the night, give a hardier dinner. She might not be getting enough if she in a growth period. ❤
In this circumstance, I disagree. Maybe tru fru isn’t the best option, but telling a child when they’re hungry that they can’t have something to eat will cause them to be a sneaky eater and hide their eating habits. Especially in the middle of the night. Obese or not, if baby girl is hungry she should get a snack. Again, maybe not fruit covered in chocolate, but I see absolutely no problem with some carrot sticks or some celery. If this were to become a regular habit then I would have a sit down conversation about the effects of eating and going back to sleep, and I would make dinner a little more bulky, but I think every child should be able to have a little snack when hungry. Regardless of time.
@@gingwhatt so drinking some water or milk is off the table? I specifically said thirsty. You don't need to get into any weird conversations with an 8 year old about night eating. That will only serve to make her self conscious. She already is at that size. The adults in charge are the ones to set the habits to be followed. From the looks of her food there's alot of sugar, caffeine and preservatives throughout the day for such a little one. These things dehydrate. Kids need more water than we realize. My niece is 8 and eats way more than I see this kid eat on any given day. But it's mostly whole foods. Lots of fruits and veggies. If it's too late and she's asking for snacks we first offer water. If she really seems hungry then a peanut butter sammy (or half). If it happens more than once in a week it might be a growth spurt. More food is usually added to her dinner. She is about 5ft already, and very thin. I think many grew up with food as rewards, or not having, or just always over eating and think feeding children is like adults. It really isn't. Or they honestly don't know how children should eat because they weren't properly fed as children. She's still at an age where she requires at least 10-12hrs sleep. This is time for the body to reset. That sugar level needs to drop and stay low for that period of time. (This is for adults as well btw; that night time fast is important)
