COURT is a winner of 18 International awards, including two Lions at the 71st Venice Film Festival, and two FIPRESCI (International Federation of Film Critics) awards, as well as the highest honour of The Golden Lotus for Best Indian Feature Film (2015), at the 62nd National Film Awards.

Synopsis: A sewerage worker's dead body is found inside a manhole in Mumbai. An ageing folk singer is tried in court on charges of abetment of suicide. He is accused of performing an inflammatory song which might have incited the worker to commit the act. As the trial unfolds, the personal lives of the lawyers and the judge involved in the case are observed outside the court.

Our courts might not deliver the justice...But director chaitanya has done complete justice with the movie👍

@@k__ashu The film explores the personal side of every character and the resemblance to their professional life... Like in picnic scene the judge is shown as a every middle aged Marathi man who is superstitious, who believes and even spreads the lies in the society ( like the IIM guys getting packages worth crores and any random stone curing the child)... These are the guys that we see around us daily basis, like the director Chaitanya sir said these people may be our mom, dad, any relatives... So it portrays these characters realistically, if you have a Keen eye you can spot that every character has a scene in which he/she goes to the restaurant with their families and you can spot the class difference according to the restaurant quality.

I can tell what will happen after the last scene....the kid will go and tell his parents that he was slapped by that uncle and then they will go and fight with him. Life, of common people in India, wonderfully depicted.

@@007vissa ho tets, ani khoob irony aahe last scene madhun. judicial authorities are sleeping ani with people screaming also, he's not waking up and doing his job, instead he slapped the kid who can't speak (maybe a metaphor for the voiceless?) chan aahe the last scene.

Shashank Singh at the ending scene the judge slap a boy for making noise but that boy was special child who can't speak and have punishment for that mistake who has been committed by other boys. Thats indian judiciary syatem

Perfect representation of #UrbanNaxals. Suave crowd commenting on the misfortune of the underprivileged. The solutions these urban naxals provide are the very same policies that kept the underprivileged in this poor situation in India. Rebranding socialism - which has never worked and looking down on the people who want to make money (The mall reference).
The kind of publicity and reviews this movie got seems to be like clockwork. All the white men - NYT, Variety, Le Monde lifting up a movie from "hellhole" country . Serves everyone's agenda well. Everybody benefits.
The issue with people like Kamble character is that the very people who he says he is fighting for reject with disdain his very understanding of the situation, thereby also rejecting the solutions (socialism) that he provides. Socialism would be great if the machines implemented it and not human beings.
