Hello friends! I am back with another decluttering video, and this might be my most exciting yet! Our pantry was dark and dim and ugly, and I'd been wanting to do a makeover on it for years (since we moved in!)
New! I have an Amazon storefront now, and it is filled with everything I use daily, cute things I'd love to have in my kitchen, cooking supplies, cleaning supplies, and sustainable living/DIY project supplies. If you'd like to use the link, I earn a commission off sales whether they are made on items linked in the storefront OR if you just shop Amazon through that link. I appreciate the support!

No lie i love this game lol
I would love to see a cooking series from the 20's to the 50's eras! Your pantry is adorable, I love all the special little touches and how you integrated them!
Please do the cooking series! I would love to see you go through eras that match your favorite outfits.
Ha ha 😅 no pressure 😊
Agreed! I spend most of my time on CZcams watching cooking videos, so if Kristina did a series it would be the best of all my favorite things ❤
Yes please! I have an old cookbook from the 1890s and have no clue where to start.
My personal preference is as early as you have through 1940’s. Mainly because most other creators focus on 50’s - 70’s.
I still can’t believe how cute this came out! I would absolutely watch more “weird vintage foods” videos. Especially since you are the one who convinced me to do fish in Jello. 😂
OMG That's the first recipe I think of when I hear 'weird vintage food' - crazy jello HAHA
A cooking series would be fantastic! There is an Australian youtuber I love called Sage Lilleyman, who does a similar vintage lifestyle blog, and her dining through the decades series is so inspiring. I could see you doing something like that and being wonderful at it.
Kristina, that room looks great. You could almost leave the door open into the kitchen. Cooking series would be lovely.
vintage cooking series by decade! like, a week each?? that as be SO FUN and inspiring!
Thanks for sharing this. Baskets in pantry spaces are a godsend. Just a suggestion. You could paint the back of the door in blackboard paint, so you can quickly write things down, as you find supplies running low. It would also diminish the yellowing of the paint. Cheers.
GREAT IDEA about chalkboard door
A really good tip for laying contact paper is to spray some soapy water before you put down the sticky paper because while it’s wet you can move it and slide it wherever you need it to go and then you just take a ruler or paint scraper or really anything with a hard flat edge and slide it like you would normally over the top and it’ll squeeze the water out from underneath it and then you just need to wait for the water to dry completely underneath and it should turn out pretty close to perfect…I learned the hard way trust me I Feel your frustration
Hi Kristina. Lovely to see you back. Congratulations on the arrival of your beautiful boy.🤗😊. May I respectfully suggest oils, sauces, honey and jams all be stored on trays that way if there is an accident the tray is the only thing that needs cleaning, not the shelf. Kindest regards and very best wishes. 😊🐾💐🇬🇸😊
GREAT SUGGESTION - I do that in my pantry
A cooking series of 1940s war time food would be interesting as food has got so expensive.. Being thrifty with food would definitely be up my street... 👍💞The pantry looks amazing.. I must do mine 👍💞😊
The way I LAUNCHED myself over to CZcams to watch this 👀
When you come to the decision that you can make the "hidden" corners of your home, it is life changing! I never realized before that all of the "junk" spaces I had were really representing my lack of respect for myself and for belongings that mattered to me. I absolutely love the vibe of your revamped pantry!
I would love to see cooking ideas from the depression era.
Who I would love a cooking series!! You can call it cooking through the ages and start in the 1800s and continue on!! That would be so amazing. I love how your pantry turned out! I dream to have a pantry!
It looks adorable! I’m amazed at your energy to do this with a newborn 😮😊
I absolutely love how the pantry turned out! The red and white is just so perfect!
Tell me this is you after having a baby just a short while ago! You look fantastic! I’ve been patiently waiting for you to post again but also hoped you were able to get some rest and recovery time and have been enjoying the new addition to your family. He is so sweet! ❤
Haha yes, I filmed this about a month after he was born! He's seven weeks now
@@WithLoveKristina awwwh congrats 🎉 that means you had your baby a week before mine… our son Beorn is 6 weeks and 1 day today ❤
How about a cooking through the decades series? Breakfast, lunch, dinner, and/or tea from each decade! ❤️
Also could lay out printable recipe cards in description to include us - like we can make a cookbook with all she cooks and cook it too collectively.
Turned out beautifully!
For anyone also having a problem with smoker-stained (nicotine) window frames and doors: My gramma taught me to use denatured alcohol/methylated spirit to wash the door first to get the stain (and yellow) off.
So stinking cute!!! I’d be opening the door all the time, just to enjoy the cheerful decor!
cookies through the different eras/decads, breakfast ideas, a days worth of meals from different years
Cookies - always a win
Yes!!! A cookingseries is fun! Suggestion: family favorites. What does your family love to eat.
I’ve been dying to paint our kitchen because we aren’t ready to finance the full renovation. This has completely inspired me to get moving. Thank you! 😊 Also I have fought the fight of the contact paper myself and have had the angry yells at the project. You’re not alone 😅 The end result is so cute!
Please do the cooking series!!! The older the better! You are awesome!!!
I love the idea of turning the corner by the old chimney into a bookcase for your cook books! Would be so pretty.
I love all of your slow living videos so a cooking series along those lines would be highly appealing. 🙂
I also think that a recipe taste test between decades would be fun (eg a meatloaf from the 40’s vs a meatloaf from the 70’s?).
EXACTLY - meatloaf idea
great minds think alike 😊
The space beside the chimney could be a great place to store your broom. Maybe move the bag storage up. Just adore your pantry makeover.
Kristina ,what brings me joy is you do things that bring you joy not what others want from you ! I love the gingham curtains & shelf contact paper so cute & white walls all tied together! A cooking series would be wonderful. To me the 1940's would be interesting sometimes as food was scarce with the war for rationing .To see how women would come up with ways to make recipes for their families with what little they had. Have a lovely day & I sure enjoyed the time you took out of your busy day for this video !
A series with the Vintage cookbooks would be awesome! Also don't feel bad about the wallpaper being a struggle, and usually is for everybody! But there is a tool that you can use to basically smooth out the wallpaper really well that helps it's like a little plastic tool. That might make it a little less of a headache.
I would love to see a cooking series from the late 1800’s
The before and after are... Whoa... This is beautiful, great job !!
And you are right : even if it's only for "us", it's important that we enjoy our surroundings ;) !!
Our homes should be for 'us' for sure ❤
So excited to see you again! What about family meals through the ages and do a different family meal from each cookbook or like a breakfast for me to cook book I would be so fun I would definitely watch that
Oh my. I’m 75 and in my early 20’s I bought the women’s day cook books. I still use some of the recipes. My daughter took the whole set from me. They really are. Wonderful set of books!
Wow, Everything looks Amazing! Strawberry shortcake cuteness. I think it would be awesome to do a cooking series. How about Quick or No Cook Summer Meals as an idea. Or Vegetable dishes through the decades. Something healthy and seasonal.
Oh honey the make over is gorgeous love the gingham xx
Pantry is beautiful! I can’t believe what you accomplish with 5 kids. Wow! You’re amazing
It has been very tidy and very clean, a pantry with all the jars in between is crazy and you don't even want to go in, in a house there must be cleanliness and order, because it is also proven, that if there is cleanliness and order you work better and your head works better. Thanks for the video.
Wow, a cooking series!! YES!! Why not start with the oldest cookbook and work your way forward?? This pantry looks great!!
Sporadic is perfectly fine. It’s like a surprise dessert when a unexpected video pops up. I love how your pantry turned out!
I love the makeover and am inspired!!!! And, yes, please do a cooking series! I have no other suggestion other than to do it!! Can’t wait!!! But also don’t rush; go at your own pace-need to continue taking care of yourself, especially now with all the intense work that beautiful little one must bring!
Kudos to decluttering cleaning, organizing, painting, videoing editing, while taking care of a baby and toddler. Oh my gosh how do you do it
I enjoyed the organization vicariously: I am a big fan of red and white kitchen decor, too. 😊
I missed your videos so much! ❤️ glad to see you are well. Congratulations on your baby! 🥰
I love how the pantry turned out.
Fair play to you for getting your house in order. I'm trying to sort out mine too but it's difficult with a full-time job, chronic health issues, three dogs and five cats. Watching your videos keeps me motivated and entertained when I'm lacking energy and willingness to continue.
I was born in 1946. My mother used the Betty Crocker cookbook you used when you and your girls made biscuits. And your biscuits turned out flat (and hard?) just like my mother’s. I still loved them. But I’ve learned how to make biscuits like my grandmother’s light and fluffy and tall! Yes, I’d like cooking videos. I might see more of my mother’s dishes! Your pantry is great!
The cooking series would be amazing 1920-1930’s
A cooking series would be so awesome! I think maybe family type/daily meals from maybe the 30s-60s would be fun! Things kids would like as well as adults.
And a series of kid friendly to make maybe too
Like your kids could help make
This is so flippin' cute! I love the gingham and the matching curtains!!!
1975 February dinner party for valentine day, is my suggestion for a dinner date to make. Mid seventies if 1975 is too specific for any of the cookbooks.
For the redo, the shelf liner bubbles that sometimes happen. A safety or sewing pin used to put a tiny hole in the bubble then press the bubble towards the hole will make them disappear from the shelf.
The room door took so much more layers than the rest of the room because of the type of material that it is. Washing it with tsp (Trisodium phosphate) is a great way to remove smoking residue, but the door material is still going to need about 3-4 coats of deep clean primer, because it is like the old paneling that is from the 1970s or so, and that stuff took us many layers of primer before we put on a color coat.
Also, if you want to a handy person can swap the way the freezer door opens up, so that it would be opening from the right to the left, instead of the other way around, and you would need to have some space on the wall opposite the can goods for the door opening swing, but not the whole way down the wall. Then you could have a bookcase of some sort like those doubled shelf spacers or something similar on the table area, or whatever you wanted there, if you want. It’s not stuck like it is in other words.
Anyway, you made a lovely place to make magic for your self and your family. May you have many wonderful moments in there.
Cooking would be good, especially Depression era and before. And all the shows I watch just show one recipe. It would be nice to see the whole meal process sometimes... juggling everything so it all gets on the table hot, etc.
This inspired me to clean out the 7 bottom cabinets in my kitchen! They were chock full of unnecessary kitchen supplies that I hadn’t even looked at in a year because I was avoiding dealing with it. I finally dragged it all out to the middle of the floor, cleaned the very few things I knew I would use, got rid of the rest, cleaned the cabinet space, and now all but 1 is sitting empty. I feel like a compartment in my mind is empty too! 🤩
Love the cuteness a refreshing change from all the stark white you see in so many houses these days.
OF COURSE you should make things cute for yourself! I re-did my entire apartment by myself even though I never invite anyone in because I prefer to be by myself
Idk, if you need it, but to give a bit more functionality to the wall where the fridge door closes, you could hang a chalkboard for a grocery list. I always find it easier when I keep writing things down as I run out of them, as opposed to making a grocery list before going to the store as this way I always forget something.
I would love a cooking series. Maybe the early 1900’s. Really just any era that contained scratch cooking. I am trying to cook without convenience foods. Simple, healthy, and delicious foods please!
Love the makeover. Doing something just for you because it makes you happy, is the best reason to do it! I have a 9 foot wall, floor to ceiling of cookbooks i have many more in boxes as well. My Mom collected them, and I do too. They give me pleasure! I usually look up at least two or three recipes before I cook anything new. I am 74 years old, so I have many years of collecting on you. If you are going to keep the cardboard box for food storage. You might try wrapping the outside in gift wrap paper. It would hide the box, and you can keep your theme. Red gingham would be cute too.
I love it!😍 I love the check curtains and shelf paper. Yes please do a cooking series. 1950-1960s😄
If you want to use your cookbooks - maybe you could do a comparison series, testing a common recipe (e.g. cornbread, vanilla cupcakes, chocolate cake, pancakes, mashed potatoes, a roast or casserole of some type) from 5 different cookbooks. It'd 1) test which one you like best and 2) test if that cookbook has well-written recipes.
GREAT idea to do same recipe but altered versions - maybe not just from her different cookbooks but from different eras. So like how different apple pie is now verses 1800's
YES We collectively want a cooking series.
😊😊😊😊
You could do eras and also types - like midcentury appetizers or drinks from 1800's or something.
🎉🎉🎉🎉
Just a suggestion
You do you and we will love it
❤❤❤❤
Cutest pantry Ever! A lot of work but worth it!!!
Have you done a video sharing your vintage cookbook collection? If not, I'd enjoy it!! The pantry turned out so pretty!
Great job. Your hard work paid off! There's nothing more satisfying thaan an organized pretty pantry with vintage touches! 🍓
I would love to see a 1950s cooking series! ❤
I've missed you. Hope all is well with the baby and the rest of the family!
That looks amazing! A cooking series would be great. I’d love to see you cook the oldest recipes you have.
Looks amazing! And yes, make it pretty for you is right! The cookbook corner sounds perfect too.
I'm looking forward to a pantry being built sometime in the future 😂 an area the size of yours would be great!
The shelf paper looks so great! ❤🍓 Love your pantry! Functional and cute!🥰
Oh, I love this! The pantry looks GREAT! Such great ideas!
It's adorable. I like the after with the red and white gingham and the curtains. It's much better now that it's cleaned up. Pantries are definitely something that people in newer houses have had to sacrifice. I use a closet off the kitchen as my pantry. It too could definitely use an overhaul. I got my fridge cleaned up better, though. It's a start.
I would LOVE a Fifties cooking series!!❤
I would love a cooking series!
This turned out so cute! I'm so happy for you.
I just wanted to say I just found you about a week ago and have been catching up with your videos.
I needed to see this and your message of I want it to look cute even if it's just for me.
I've been so discouraged lately. I just stopped caring. No one comes over and I feel like my family for the most part does not notice what I do. Only what I don't do.
But you're right. I clean and make my home and yard pretty because I love it. And that is just as important as what others think.
So cute! Dollar tree has clear plastic can organizers that I LOVE in my pantry and could be helpful for you too! It’s for soda cans I think but they stack all the cans sideways and you can fit those same shelf organizers on top of them for more space. That trash bin is a great idea. I need to do that for my dog food! Turned out super pretty!! Great job doing so much with all those little ones. You’re a super mom!
I would love to see cooking videos! My favorite eras are the 1940’s-1950’s. It would be so fun to match your wardrobe with your cooking! As someone earlier commented, I loved your hobbit cooking video! That was fun too!
I love how this turned out despite how frustrating it was to get to the end 😂 i would love a cooking series that could be super interesting you could do a desert series or dinner series or even a weird recipe series options are wide with that one haha
You and hubby did a fabulous job 👏
I love your new pantry. I loved the cooking episode with lacy. More cooking videos and collaborate with other vintage t-tube lady's. Or men. Your husband is like mine and helps. Thank you for inspiring me to organize my home.
Cooking seriiieesss yeeesss!!! 🍲🥯🥧🍵
Yes. Please do the cooking series. I too have a love for old cookbooks.
The room looks wonderful. I have hundreds of vintage cookbooks myself. I love them!
Absolutely adorable job on the pantry and the shelf liners were worth it!!! ❤ would LOVE to see a cooking series. How about budget friendly or quick meals? Vintage era cookboks always remind me of just making the most of what you have in the home 😊
Very similar to the 50's routine that I follow from your Ko-fi. Sill entertaining to watch because of all your cool stuff in your home and you, of course. Thank you for the inspiration. 💗🌺🌴
For sure, do the cooking series! I'm so jealous of your amount of panty space. It turned out so great. It is so much brighter. Do you have a link to the curtains and the jars?
The "Dear Freezer" got me!
😄
I would love a cooking series
Yes cooking series, please. I love your style girl. You give me hope for our future.
Your pantry turned out so cute! One trick I learned with my plastic grocery bags to conserve space is to fold them into little footballs like we used to make as kids with paper. I save so much space by doing this and I can usually get a couple of my kids to do it. I too have a gazillion old cook books so a cooking series would be loads of fun!
Looks brilliant. Love to see a weeks cooking from your books.
It's so very beautiful looking I need to do my pantry and the closet's in my hallway too❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ praying always for you and your family
The whole house is your work station. So make it as you want it, is all good 👍😉👍
I love the pantry makeover! You have a real gift for decorating. I was so happy to see the new little addition to your sweet family. Looking forward to more of your videos when you have time. I would love to see your cooking videos from any era you want. I still make some recipes from my mom's cookbooks that are probably from the '20s.
You did amazing Kristina! Your closet looks so much better! Your hardwork on the shelf liner was so worth it and totally matches your home astetic! I will check out that game! Have you ever though about having aprons made and you sell them? I think you would make great $ if you did! Thank you for sharing with us!
I'd buy an apron! 👗
Yes cooking series! Could be deserts thru the decades or holiday favorites, or wotk night meals...
I love it! So cute and functional! Cooking series, please! (Any and all eras!)🍓
Because the freezer can take the weight. I would put a pretty farmhouse wire rack on top and store anything you like. You can even hide the items by pinning a curtain on the wire rack or a pretty vintage cabinet bolted on the wall over the freezer is another idea for all your cookbooks. This will help preserve them clean and away from kitchen grime that tends to get on surfaces.
Your pantry looks wonderful!! I want to see the cooking series about all the era's you have- that would be really interesting! I'm a 1940's gal, and would love an emphasis on that....
Kristina. My sister showed me a trick when I had to do a whole kitchen when I was moving in. Don’t take off all the backing paper. Only take a triangle shaped bit off each corner. Oh my goodness! It was so fast and the paper stays put. Remember this the next time you do any shelves. Your pantry looks so lovely now. I love your channel!
Genius! ❤
The tablecloth is identical to my grandmas! She had matching curtains too. Love it!
I adore your hobbit meal video. What if you did more tie ins? It could be book/movie themed like Narnia or classic movies like Bringing Up Baby or it could be centered around people and time like what sort of meals would Louisa May Alcott have eaten. I dont know. Those probably aren't the best examples, but maybe a springboard for better ideas ♥️
congratulations on you're new baby my friend!! delighted to see you looking so well, hope you and the family are settling into a new routine with baby in tow!:) sending you love
My favorite way to line shelves is to remove it from brackets or the cabinet its in and wrap it like a present!
This turned out too cute! I wholeheartedly support making things in your house cute just for you 🍓
I just started watching some of your videos today. I'm not a parent and something I noticed is that your kitchen and pantry are not overrun with "kid specific" stuff. If I didn't know you have 5 kids I wouldn't know from seeing what's in your pantry. And that's meant as a compliment. Again, as a non parent, watching people with kids it's overwhelming to see how much STUFF is seemingly needed for them. But you're obviously proving, kids can eat from regular dishes and don't need 25 special cups. LOL I think that's cool!
