I just got a nice Moroccan Parallejuras trilobite and it has a tiny tiny crack that is filled with a yellowish mineral that goes though the stone its on and the trilobite and it has no air pockets and I can see a faint crack where the matrix or that stone was glued back together, So I hope its real xD

Very cool video! A friend in Colorado sells some trilobites that are about 12-15" long and about 8" wide. She claimed it was a very rare Morroccan one. I've seen customized crocodile jaws from there in a sandstone type matrix, as well as blue, red & green quartz geodes, and even galena geodes fashioned out of clay. The quartz geodes are real, but dyed with food coloring.

Cast are meant for display too not meant for frauds since real ones are for a museum

80% of museum pieces are cast. Take a look at the fine print next time you are in a museum.

Not all fossils have scientific value. Many fossils are considered common and are discarded by the professional paleontologist. That is where private industry can do their part and help keep fossil safe. Mother nature can be ruthless with her ability to destroy fossils. It’s important the scientific community and private industry work hand-in-hand to preserve our history.

There is enough Trilobites on this planet to give every man woman and child. They’re one of the most abundant fossils on the planet, found all over the world! In fact there’s a U-dig site in Utah. You can fill drums full in a day
