@Julien Navis You do have a right to your own preference on a beat to a 2pac song, but what makes you think that you know what beat is best for a 2pac song? I mean, Johnny J was like one of 2pac's closest producers, and he even worked with 2pac prior to 2pac signing with Deathrow Recordz on some "Thug Life" era and "Me Against The World" era tracks, so if anyone would know about a beat that is suitable for the mode of a 2pac song, it'll be a producer like Johnny J. I'm not trying to say that every remix that Johnny J has made for a 2pac song had the right beat. I'm just saying that Johnny J knows 2pac's music better than you do because he made some of 2pac's greatest hits before Deathrow Recordz and while 2pac was on Deathrow Recordz. It's okay to prefer the original version to "Ballad of a Dead Soulja" because that's the beat that 2pac chose to flow to, however, I just think that the Jonny J remix has more of an upbeat tempo to it and it sounds more like something you could dance to.
@Julien Navis I don't always agree with all of Johnny J's remixes. For instance, I don't like "Komradz" *Military marching drums version remix). I also don't like "Everything they Owe" remix as well. My favorite Johnny J 2pac remixes are probably "Breathin", "Better Days (with Ron Isley). "Secretz to War" remix is a classic. "Still I Rise" remix and "U can touched" remix are also classics in my opinion. By the way, were you also aware that "How do you want it" version on AEOM album is actually a remix and yet it's one of 2pac's greatest hits? I feel like Ballad of a Dead Soulja og beat needed more work. The OG doesn't sound like a final mix down. The UTEOT version sounds slightly better. The OG just sounds like drums.
Me to This is a way better version than the album version this is way more smooth type of Beat that’s why I love this track this version than the other one
0:37. WHEN THEM VOCALS HIT ON TOP OF THEM MERCILESS LYRICS. DAD THAT SHIT FOLDED ME. I LOVE YOU TUPAC SHAKUR!!!!!!!!! GOD WE LOVE YOU. JESUS WE LOVE YOU. MY 37 ANGELS I LOVE YOU. FAM I LOVE YOU. WIFEY I LOVE YOU SOOOOOO MUCH. LAST NIGHT WAS AMAZING!!!!!!!!💜🤤🍯🍇🧸🧸🧸🧸🧸🧸🧸🧸🧸🌞🌝
I prefer this version too! The fire of the track kinda cooled off towards the end of the track where Pac was just talking. Johnny J should have had the lady singing "aaaaahhh aaaahhh" in the background while Pac was talking to keep the fire going but nice track though.
Angel panter makaveli pac king of planète hé hustla still feel oder game thug love pac sais to nation bomb 1 keep soldat respect you for all u make same widness is u thé name religion black jesus 👌👌
Johnny J was dope, one of the best producers period, but damn those later remix's he did were wack as fuck, compared to the originals Johhny was on absolute fire when they layed the tracks down, but a lot of his remix's he made later on sound cheesy or like fake sounding more, his older stuff was just straight up gold
Rest In Peace, Tupac the General and Johnny J. They were definitely a deadly combination, they understood each other, one knew what the other wanted. This song is Straight 🔥 🔥 🔥. Better than mos of the trash 🗑 Music 🎶 nowadays. Thug In Peace Mr. Makaveli. WestsidahRidahbaby!!!!!!
We love u pac..wish I was there with u I hate it we need u out here they nasty evil an I just no this aint our life..need more knowledge but my faith show me the way fuck who dnt like it it real an cnt be stopped.
I didn't like this version much at first. Now, I fucking love it. There's so much funk menace in this beat, that classic 96 funk from Pac and Johnnyy J. And that chorus is ill!!!!
this is a good one is not bad but I like the og version more and I have to say that the last version from the official album is also not bad I like the beat from last version :D
“Another suicide on the tier” long live Tupac Shakur krazy pac said that & Johnny J produced the best version and Johnny J hung his self on the tier in the county jail and he got a DUI its krazy he had a wife money either somebody killed him or he killed his self I know Johnny J was a foster kid and he used to get teased a lot growing up but they said he wasn’t a depressed kinda person but Long Live Johnny J one of the best producers of all tyme in my eyes him & pac made magic together 💯🙏🏽🐐

@@qsmooth7805 It's ok but the album version is basically the og and what would've been released anyways.

This version sounds so happy. Full of fun and sweet candies. Not the right mood for these kind of lyrics.
This is cool but the album version does brings out the passion in his lyrics

Angel panter makaveli pac king of planète hé hustla still feel oder game thug love pac sais to nation bomb 1 keep soldat respect you for all u make same widness is u thé name religion black jesus 👌👌
you know it’s a good beat when the producer let it run alone at the end
Rip tupac
The GOAT
What makes this track legendary is the collaboration with Pac and Bone thugs (Lazie bone)
"Meeting with Castro" that's after he died and went to Cuba
smh
😂😂😂😂😂🔫🔫🔫🔫🔫🔫🤠👌NO
Kastro is a member of tupac's outlawz
Nigga its Kastro, not Castro. Kastro was a member of the Outlawz
Tanhu listen to the context...its about fidel...Why would it be about his nephew kastro?
Johnny J was dope, one of the best producers period, but damn those later remix's he did were wack as fuck, compared to the originals Johhny was on absolute fire when they layed the tracks down, but a lot of his remix's he made later on sound cheesy or like fake sounding more, his older stuff was just straight up gold
Agreed - most of his later remixes were weak compared to his incredible 95/96 joints.
Need to make this available on mobile

for y'all saying johnny J is underrated.... it's a popular comment but peep this: how many song producers name do people typically know about?
