- Problems can have complicated solutions, but sometimes they can be resolved with a simple solution. That was the case with my Tainted Grail models. They are only place-holders on the map, but I wanted them to look a bit better on the table.
1. White primer
2. 50/50 mix of “sand golem” and “dark wood” speed paint
3. “Desert yellow” dry brush
4. Very light “skeleton bone” dry brush if you want them a bit brighter
Did exactly what you did on my Tainted Grail-Kings of Ruin minis and couldn't be happier with the outcome. Thank you.
That’s wonderful! I’m so glad the turned out good! Thanks for letting me know.
The DIY sundrop looks awesome! Good job and I appreciate a thorough explanation 🙌
Keep up the good work 💪
Thanks so much! I hope it’s helpful!
Even though I plan to fully paint my copy, these came out great. Great work and I recommend a spray of Matte/Ultra Matte for those that want less satin/gloss look.
Great idea with the matte! I sprayed them with a matte clear coat afterward and they look great. Thanks!
Very cool effect! Nice job! I've been waiting for an idea on how to paint my Western Legends figures, and I think this is it! I have too many games I'm trying to paint in a detailed fashion, but some games just need an easy sundrop effect like this. Thanks so much! I just subscribed 🙂
I’m so glad it was helpful! Ya, I have the too-many-games problem too.
Well those are looking very nice!!! I agree that a touch of bone would make a good highlight!
Thanks so much!
If the models are too shiny for you, then use anti shine (I use the warpainter anti shine) to get rid of the gloss effect and to protect your paint job.
Good to know! Thanks for the tip!
I kind of expected a video of how to sundrop the models... Instead I just got a video of already sundropped minis... Could you do an actual painting video to see the steps in action?
I’m a total amateur video maker, so I don’t know how to splice video segments together (waiting for paint to dry and getting other supplies out) to actually show the whole process. I guess I should figure that out because I also enjoy watching the process. Thanks for the feedback!
@@BeAHeroGaming Totally understandable. Thanks for the response.
10 out of 10 👍
Thank you!
good video.
Thank you! I hope it was helpful!
The speedpaints (usually) get closer to the color on the label if you do more layers of it
Good to know! I just started using them, so still getting used to it. Thanks!
