- OK, so this wasn't from a Betamax tape, it was from a Philips N1700, but I thought I might as well keep the naming convention. Lots of ads and (mostly) Granada continuity from 1978-79, and a full edition of Hickory House into the bargain.

British advert voice-overs are so relaxing.
Lots of good stuff here including ads from my childhood. Highlights for me are Pat Coombs voicing the perfume and: "Shouldn't be allowed!" and the animated colour Granada ident into Hickory House.
By pure chance I’m watching Hickory House 40 years to the day that recording was made. And what’s more worrying is that I can recall the taste of Secret Agent sweets immediately on seeing the wrapper, despite not having thought of them since 1978. Thanks for the upload.

One of my all-time favourite episodes although I was not around back then I absolutely love Hickory House
If someone had told me when I was eight years old that in 43 years time I would be watching old episodes of Hickory House on a MacBook.
I would have said What's a MacBook? This is the nearest thing to time travel.
I could watch Louise Hall-Taylor all day.
The start of the video is from Sunday, 11 November, 1979 - To The Manor Born/Shoestring
OMG! I used to have that book, "The Enormous Turnip"! I haven't seen it since I was a kid, but I remembered it all as I saw it on the screen.
Utterly brilliant, more please!
30:51 - Brooke Bond Orange Label - Patricia Hayes as the old lady who fainted.
aw I used to love hickory house, wish more episodes were around to see.
26:07 - I'm sure I'm not the only one who thinks Louise has an interesting box.
Fantastic stuff...Anyone remember a lunchtime kids tv show called 'Mr Trimble'?Wonder if any episodes still exist!
Yes, Mr. Trimble still exists. An episode was released on the DVD "Look Back On 70s Telly - Issue 1".
Thanks for that.ive just discovered your channel and im watching the continuity vids now.ive subscribed.do you have any from the 70s please?...
Nicholas Bond-Owen, who played Tristram in George and Mildred, appears in the Shredded Wheat advert at 31:48
1978 was the year of the American bubblegum invasion. They fascinated be because at 10p I couldn't dream of affording them but the advertising made me really want them.
I tried gum back then but hated it! Hubba Bubba et al.
Humphrey was such an odd looking character. I remember the show as a child but don’t Remember Humphrey looking like that
I absolutely love this do you have anymore episodes of Hickory House please?
Hi. I'd like to get some Betamax original movie tapes. Iam trying to get some old home video formats(Betamax, CED, VHD and Video8). Would you have any Beta for sale(boxes, Video case-best shape only)? Thanks a lot.
Sorry, no.
Louise Hall - Taylor... Just sayin' !!!!
Phwoar!(Even though I was 10)😊Also Maria Morgan of"Handful of songs to sing you🎵"What we're u guys doing to me???I was only 10!!! (Actually these programmes were for preschoolers so I only watched them for the totty).
What happened to Louise Hall Taylor could everyone tell me she still alive
Thanks for doing these. Great vintage material. Could I clip the Dallas ad? I'd give you credit.
Sure, go ahead.
Thanks so much. Sorry if I've asked this before and forgotten but do you ever find any old material like Emmerdale Farm?
I found some mid-80s Emmerdale Farm once, but only the end of a couple of episodes.
Ah. Thanks for answering. If you ever had any chance to upload those I'd enjoy seeing even just those bits (if you'd rather not then I understand, and thanks for all you do share).
I always thought Hickory House was a cartoon or animation ?
You may be confusing it with Hector's House, which was all hand puppets: czcams.com/video/qJMAeuFoxRI/video.html
24:36 the old woman has a tabby cat with no head? Gross!
