    Why is it that Italian fans and pundits always have to apologize for Italy’s performances and qualification? Enough. Portugal in 2016 scraped through with three draws and three points. Didn’t win one game convincingly. I don’t remember Portuguese pundits ever apologizing on television. It’s tournament football guys, win and move on. The rest is just chatter. And to all Italians: stop apologizing for the team! Be proud they moved on. Imperfect or not.

      Apologizing for what? For winning the tournment? If you are worst or better team doesnt matter you play with all you have to win or else just pick the 1st ranked team and give them the trophy... Portugal was far superior in all three matches in their group just could.t find a way to score, croatia didnt do anything against them, by far the better team against Poland and Wales and they beat France in their own home. If you think its easy just have your national team do the same. Tremendous victory for Portugal. A warriors team that one.

      💯 correct. England looks terrible 1 win and 2 draws in the easiest group at the euro. Italy was in the group of death with Croatia WC 2018 finalist, 2022 WC 3rd and in the nations league finalist last year. Spain Euro 2021 semi finalists and nations league champions last year. Croatia and Spain have the best midfield in the world. Italy is in an easy draw now

  • @TheFabrizioNYC
    @TheFabrizioNYC Před 3 dny +11

    Di Lorenzo is a zombie, totally out of shape had a terrible season with Napoli, i don't know why he's playing and for the whole 90 minutes!!! Dimarco is clearly injured and he didn't have to play, could have started Chiesa in his place. Bellanova as the fifth on the right has the speed and plays so wide that can open the game like we should. Then Fagioli can come in earlier for Jorginho and Pellegrini is also clearly out of shape and shouldn't start.

    • @jlove8445
      @jlove8445 Před 2 dny

      I wonder why certain guys are so out of shape after being starters on their club teams, perhaps they missed time before the tourney due to injury, I don’t know but certain guys look off to me compared to their best performances, the only guy that should be really showing his age is Jorginho but his game is not even bothering me as long as he’s subbed. Dimarco looks off, Chiesa has been in and out for a while now, The strikers aren’t really getting much service as they could. Lots to improve on, offensively

      Bellanova and Cambiaso are urgently needed to remediate the weakness on the flanks, and Fagioli in the middle instead of the ghost playing there. Even Gatti would do better than Darmian or di Lorenzo, Spalletti's anti-Juventus bias is glaring.

  • @GF-zh7sv
    @GF-zh7sv Před 3 dny +1

    from the formation used on Croatia, i'd do the following - back line is good, don't touch. Midfield add Chiesa and take out DiLorenzo. Pellegrini as CAM and Barella and Jorginho CM. Retegui and Scamacca up front.

    Di Marco and Di Lorenzo didn’t have a good game, I would try Cambiaso and Bellanova. In the midfield I would put Fagioli instead of Jorginho, he plays faster and isn’t scared to make long passes and he is better at them. Against Croatia Bastoni had to throw Chiesa. As if it wasn’t enough Chiesa and Fagioli play together.

    Di Lorenzo is def one of the weakest points in this team. He has been terrible in all the three games. He has no pace. He cant defend. He cant place a pass. Its as if he is not there. Same goes for DiMarco.

    Italy fan here but I fail to see any strategy or leadership from Spalletti. While this isn't a great squad he is making things worse with his choice of wrong formation and wrong players. What will it take to get Darmian, Jorginho, Dimarco, Frattesi and Pellegrini stuck to the bench where they belong? And what do Zaccagni and Fagioli need to do to get a start?
