How to use the all-important 2 and 3 draw bends to create bluesy harmonica sounds. With Adam Gussow of Modern Blues Harmonica. Gussow illustrates these bends by demoing the opening riffs of "Unlucky in Love," an original composition by his duo, Satan and Adam.

Love this song . I have this, and Ride the Wind on my skatepark playlist. Great energy.
Good to know! They've both got a heavy groove.
I bought a harmonica because of you
Thank you Mr Adam!
Great video's Adam.I Just bought my first harp 3 days ago, a cheap little Hohner blues band and I'm really enjoying your lessons. I'm not one of the 5% but I'm getting better. I've even got a dusty black car :)

Hi Mr. Gussow : I just love your music. I can play the Harmonica some. But want to get much better. What is the best Blues Harmonica that I can buy? And also in what Key. Money is not in question. I just want great sounding harp. Thank you for all the wonderful music you share with us.
Awesome lesson Adam! Do you think you could put up a lesson for the whole song (unlucky in love)? It's very relateable! Especially in these unprecedented times (🎵all of my days life's been unkiiind, then Covid came, and gave me some precious tiiimeee...🎵
i'm working on my bending, this was very helpful
I got the hang od bending 4th draw today and realized that the 3 hole draw is kinda tricky but now you're telling me there's four notes you can bend on the 3 hole draw .-. I have much to learn
nice lessons Adam )))
sir do some more lesson like this so our bend ll b improve
Adam, it’s more difficult for me to hit the Nite already bent s half or whole in higher key harps like C and D and especially on an F.
Can someone tell me what tabs are? 1draw, 2draw bend, 3 draw bend, but next? I don't get it
Tabs is short for tablature: a form of sheet music that uses something other than notes to represent music. Harmonica tablature uses hole number (1-10) and in/out arrows.
5:44 I GOTTA LEARN THAT
I am so curious - is every draw bend (1-10) capable of 4 notes?
Not at all. I did a video on this. Holes 1-6 have draw bends; holes 7-10 have blow bends. The number of bends on a given note is determined by the distance between the blow note and draw note. Hole 3 has a very large distance; thus the four notes (including three bends) on 3 draw. Here's the video: czcams.com/video/QUPkr7PKOVU/video.html
@@gussowsclassicbluesharmoni2726 👏👏 NICE thank you!! I will be checking it out🌟
Watch the video Adam linked, he knows best. The basic draw bends are as follow:
First, second and sixth hole have just one possible half-step bend.
The second hole has two half-step bends.
The third hole has three.
Hole 5 can bend very slightly and you shouldn't really focus on it, the other holes are more important for now. And holes 7, 8 and 9 have no draw bends but they have blow bends, which you don't need to worry about as a beginner.
@@Oleg_K. Thanks Oleg!
LOL (last sentence) I do get distracted easily 😅 and often get to worrying about things I should not be. Stay blessed!
