Pheasant hunting is great fun, get outdoors with exercise and they're great eating.

Pheasant aren't endangered and aren't endogenous to the USA...
Far from being extinct, this is a put and take by hunters, most die before the season opens.

Acreditacion of all pheasants I've raised pheasants for 45-plus years is death by predators coyotes eagles Hawks you name it most don't make it three or four days and these birds are being raised and release to be shot that's the reality my Verge on wildland we do our best to fight back for mother nature mother God but the facts are in a completely controlled environment with every amino acid and perfect conditions the ringneck pheasant lives less than three years that's just nature's code facts not feel good stuff are gorgeous beautiful birds some of mine are hand tamed and can be very loving friends and part of the family which most people would not comprehend 🤗

@@JaySingh-sp1eb pretty much all of them died no matter what this is Pennsylvania it's not exactly proper habitat for these birds.
They all die by winter anyway
The Game Commission does a great job at raising pheasants. They could do a better job in regards to how and where they release them. Somehow a lot of folks find out pretty much exactly where and when the birds are released and they crowd the release area and pretty much put the kibosh on any real sort of honest hunting experience. Also many of the release areas do not manage standing corn in those areas so that the birds can have a good escape and feed area available on into the end of the season. Corn rows should be at least 100’ wide and near to good brushy cover or tall dense grasses and remain in tact through the winter.

This video makes me sad. The PGC has such a great pheasant propagation operation. I would say they raise some of the best pheasants in the country. It's a shame they are releasing all the breeders this year and the operation won't continue like we see in this video. All good things come to an end I guess. My family enjoys hunting these birds so much it's a tradition. We are true sportsman and are obsessed with fast high flying birds. The PGC pheasants are really great flyers. I have hunted pheasants from other game farms like martz and they don't compare. And I can't afford to hunt at those places. Big thanks to the PGC and all the hard work for releasing quality birds all these years. I hope it continues ....

Great job! If we all reared a 100 birds and released them imagine how our sport would prosper! Yes we need to follow the law but on private land we can make a huge difference . It’s not what you give but what happens if all give!
Need permits to raise gamefowl. So not all are able too.
It would make a big difference to possums and raccoons, that's about it. If you want to do something for game birds, buy some land and plant it in native grass.

That's what the state game commissions do. The problem is that the birds don't survive raccoons and other predators. I tried it with 100+ one year and only one made it to winter up in outside of Boston. Lovely birds nevertheless.

This is fantastic. I'll never forget when I raised 110 pheasant poults up outside of Boston and let them roam free. Such magical birds. Some were just like teenage brothers. 2014 was my summer of pheasants. I love the melanistic birds. Great little creatures.

If birds are farm rased will they survive in the wild? I have been bird hunting never liked digging out lead but I guess now will be a complete ban on the use of lead ammunition for any hunting purposes anywhere by July 1, 2019. Still biting down on steel shot would be just as bad.
