  • The Governor of Niger State, Hon. Umar Mohammed Bago, speaking at the Leadership Awards Ceremony, completely agreed with Peter Obi's consistent position, saying that Nigeria should have no business with poverty if we were a productive nation.
The Governor said to Peter Obi, "You are very right with what you have said, we have no reason to be poor. People might not like you, but they must hear you, because you speak the truth."
Peter Obi had earlier stated that it was a national embarrasment for Nigeria to depend on grains from war torn Ukraine because we are unproductive.
He has consistently maintained that the vast arable lands in Niger State, with its landmass of over 76,000 km², if put into productive use, can feed the entire nation and produce enough surplus for export.
The Governor agreed and even disclosed that his administration has already prepared over a million hectares of land Niger State for massive food production.
We are moving from consumption to production. A New Nigeria is POssible

Africa is seen as end users and so majority of exports from the west should go to Africa, Africa is a big market for west, first it was china, second India and now Africa, Africa can not be allowed to start producing, if every country start production global trade may collapse. This is why chaos are being created because we have African leaders who are desperate to be presidents and the west feeds on their ambition to meddle in African polity.

No matter how we try to bury the truth, it will assert itself. That is what we see here.
The truth is one cherished virtue that will set the country free.
    If you know, you know.

May God bless Peter Obi and governor Umar Bago of Niger state for his deliberate agriculture production vision, which is inline with what Peter Obi has been preaching.
For Bago's not playing politics with governance seeing reality in what Obi of labour party is saying that farming is beneficiary to his state and people 👏👏

State by state, region by region. Forget the politics of personal agendas and become productive in your own regions and states. Then begin to collaborate on common projects. Slowly, each state gains confidence, becomes economically more viable and Diasporans will start returning and most importantly investing in their respective regions. Abia state is a shining example internationally right now. And I have hope that the sly entities set on derailing anything positive will not win this time around.

The past states governors does not believed in Buhari's rice farming that is why the vision dies, or probably the program was not sold to them by the FG, or unknown to them that they are the beneficiaries? Otherwise we wouldn't have had problems with rice today as a nation.
We have a lot of visionary less peoples in governance position. The governors prefer to build airport than farming that will absorb lots of people from the jobless market in their states. Governor Umar Bago, God bless you for this farming vision.
