  • Building structure behavior in response to earthquake or wind is heavily dependent on the nature, extent, and stiffness of floor and roof diaphragms. It is important that the building model used in the analysis and design of a building accurately captures the effects of these diaphragms. this video will address the challenges of determining the proper way to perform the analyses, while balancing accuracy with business demands of speed and simplicity.

    For rigid diaphragm you must get same drift at the different points
    But in the table you shown drift values are different at different points

      The unsymmetrical layout of their frames shifts their center of rigidity away from the center of mass, resulting in torsion on the rigid diaphragm which would account for the variation in drift values at different points in the diaphragm (the no eccentricity designation for the seismic load case would be for code eccentricity)
