Great video Sir, It is amazing how fast the trades went from muzzle loader, to pin fire, center fire. Then along with that was the advancement of the actions. I have two Westleys, one a 1863 16b ML made for a British MP, the other a 12b bar in wood hammer gun. I load 2-1/2" shells for skeet and it's a joy to shoot. No under bites only the dolls head bite.

Thank you for your comment -- the dolls head lockup is truly a classic.

    Mr. Rule,
have the same Westly Richards but without auto-ejectors mostly to overcome the paper/cardboard shells expanding due to high humidity in India.
    Action is an artwork, yes.
    Great information Sir.

Thank you for your comment. I recently noticed that Westley Richards is selling a framed set of these locks for those who appreciate them for their artwork appeal.

I could not find these listed on Westley Richards site. Could you send a link?.
      Thank you

Guns made by Westley Richards are every bit as good or better than the best London makers
i have a William Powell box lock ejector 30" in as good a condition as yours with the side clips made at around the same vintage, and also made in Birmingham weighing 8 lb, full & full. i believe it was a live pigeon gun, you truly are a lover of fine guns as myself. thank you for your video's.

I agree that there are many Birmingham makers that are as good as the London makers, especially Westley Richards, William Powell, WW Greener, and many others over the years. Thank you for your compliments; I always enjoy hearing from someone else who is "a lover of fine guns."

Where to get it cleaned and restored? Minor rust on the actions

I would recommend J.J. Perodeau in Oklahoma, but there are many qualified gunsmiths.

It seems that the lady sitting next to you is being punished. I suggest you find someone interested in what you are saying to sit next to you, otherwise this is a disaster!

Her specialty is You Tube technology, not guns, but she was definitely an asset for what we needed to do. Thank you for your observation.

Hi, I think 95% of patents of note or worth ,on any o/u or side by side shotguns manufacted anywhere in the world to day, is down to the gunmakers
    Of Great Britain .

I certainly wouldn't argue with that. I am sure it could be quantified if someone took the time -- Beretta's input in the 20th Century might possibly tip the 5% scale you place on the rest of the patents' system.

And I would be disrespectful, if I left out the Germans and Austrians.
