- I have taken the overture theme from Star Trek The Motion Picture and done a rendered animation to show the Enterprise coming home for her big refit. Drydock was done by Prologic 9 and the orbital office was from trekmeshes and done by Raul Mamoru, Earth and the moon are from C4D Depot. The rest of the models are done by me. Star Trek belongs to Paramount and CBS.
Finally, other people can enjoy this. It's an exceptional piece of work and a fitting tribute to the 40th anniversary.
Thank you, i know it took me a while to post it but i am glad i did, i really need to have more faith in my own work.
Excellent job Wayne. Just one minor detail at 1:01 NCC 701 ?
@@lensnow8957 Look again. The "1" is there, but the lighting from just above it on the hull obscures it.
@@marcelo3939 hi, thanks for the comment :) I have been having problems porting the model into octane as this was just using cinema 4d without the octane add on. But I will try to port her again and then post some pictures and videos of her soon.
The Galaxy Class will always be home for me, but heck, imagine getting a group of friends and going on an adventure in a Constitution-refit 😍
I really LOVE this! Truly a beautiful ship inside and out! Wish I could see a whole TV series with the Enterprise looking like this . . .
Gorgeous! I LOVED the incorporation of the original “Phase II” design elements. Thank you for that!
Great how the "original" design was uprated. Obviously after the third year but before the end of the 5 year mission. Design leads right into the first movie. Wonderful, exceptional.
First time I've EVER seen the RCS thrusters fire. Nice.
Yes, I thought that was a lovely touch, just to bring her to a dead stop!
Yes, that was a really nice touch. A thoughtful bit of detail!
I watched the video 3 times last still never saw it
@@eman67951 Look on the saucer section at 1:54, center of the screen
@@richgweil Thank you I didnt notice that The registration number 17 0 1 looks like 17 0 1l or i I
Once again, a dedicated and talented fan does Mr. Roddenberry's legacy proud. Gratitudes for sharing, Mr. Harding. Warp Speed!
Oh wow, I was around for the airing of the first series and I never knew until right now how much I needed this, this just feels like it's done with so much love, finally giving a fitting tribute and closure to that original 5 year mission and setting the scene 18 months later for the relaunch, I'm misty eyed and grinning like an idiot, well done, well done...
If you haven’t watched Star Trek Continues 11 full length episodes including a series finale, do it now! The best Star Trek fan production by far.
The refit Enterprise was such a radical redesign of the original Enterprise that in some ways to me it didn’t make sense even though the refit is my favorite version. I have come to the belief that some intermediate version of the Enterprise that included elements of both designs could bridge the two and explain the complete refit better. The Phase II version does this well but so does your beautiful version. Well done!
For some the Discoprise is kinda doing that job, making the initial design of the Enterprise much closerto the refit. It is much easier to see the Discoprise getting refittet into the Refit. than the original TOS Enterprise getting that done.
I've always seen parallels between the Constitution class (original as built and refit) and the real world Essex class aircraft carriers. When they were new, they looked virtually nothing like they would end up after so many refits/upgrades.
The Phase II version is awesome... I would love to see some kind of intermediate version of the original Enterprise introduced to explain the refit.
Damn, that's a beautiful ship! Also, love the TOS "command green" on the TMP fugly uniforms.
Better than a hot fudge brownie on a rainy day
Shame I can't give out emojis to the most random comment on this vid you would most definitely get it lol. Thank you though.
Star Trek Continues ends like this. Just before she gets refitted.
Cool, I have to rewatch that. Great series and people who did so much more for Star Trek fandom in the true spirit of Roddenberry than the official CBS/Paramount people did with Discovery or JJ Abrams did with the reboots..
I remember reading the dc comics series annual issue where admiral kirk was inspecting the refit and the nacelles were being pulled off and the deflector dish too.
Nice. Like the combination of both the series and movie Enterprise.
By golly that was beautiful- that's how the Enterprise in Discovery should have looked
unfortunatly i do not think mine is 25 percent different lol. Thank you though means a lot for you to say that.
Either Discovery or the 2009 reboot.
I personally liked the Disco version of Enterprise, but this video is fabulous! I love how it shows the transition of (TOS) Enterprise to (TMP) Enterprise! Oh and I absolutely hated the 2009 reboot Enterprise, simply because of the placement of her Pylons! TO DAMN CLOSE TOGETHER!
@@wayneharding6594 You know that 25% difference is bs, right?
Beautiful. Not only a mighty fine viewing of the exterior but a revamp of the ship's interior. Editing a background environment with actors in it and make the update appear seamlessly realistic its a trying task. Well done.
Spectacular, had me crying because of the use of Ilia's them from Star Trek:The Motion Picture.
This Enterprise looks sharp. Great job
Brilliant - just brilliant. Both the idea and execution :)
Still crying, so beautiful!
Honestly, this is so great. Very well done. Respect to you. Emotions are running high right now..!
Great job! Very moving too.
I love the TOS color schemes added to the refit. Awesome job!
Wow. So much reverence, Wayne. Just beautiful.
Positively breathtaking. Wonderful, wonderful work Wayne. I got a little choked up. She's such a beautiful ship, and you did her such justice.
Wow!!! That was quick the ship was in dry dock for a hot min before the dockworkers started taking her apart.
Truly enjoyed this! Nice work.
That was very nice indeed - I enjoyed it a lot. Many thanks!
great job! This is a scene I always wanted to see...
Me too to be honest, its a shame it was never done for the directors edition, I know there will be a few people out there annoyed that its not a pure TOS enterprise, this is my take on the phase 2, which to me is a more logical ballance.
So very cool. I really love it.
Wow, just beautiful!!
Beautifully done.
This is excellent work 👏👏👏
This is lovely. Thank you.
This shows not only the love and care of any starship but the respect and love for own planet Earth and our own moon. In some ways I feel that a cousin of mine who was an astronaut so long ago in the 1980s, felt possibly the same way when he worked with the Space shuttle program.
A view before the events of Star Trek: The Motion Picture🙂👍🏽 I really enjoy stuff like this very much. Your changes to the ship shows the little refits the Enterprise had undergone during the rest of the mission that we never saw and this video fills the gap nicely.
Beautiful, just beautiful !
Amazing work
This video looks & sounds pretty sweet. Thanx 4 posting it Wayne.👊😎.....🖖
great visual story telling. beautiful
Wow, that's a beautiful rendition of the pre-refit Connie!
Nice camera work around the ship.
Pheneomenal work! Thanks for bringing the prime ship home!
Thank you most appreiciated :)
Beautiful.
Well done love the look!
Best update of the TOS enterprise I've ever seen
Absolutely beautiful PICTURE of the uss enterprise...comeing home ....
This was a nice in between the TOS Enterprise and the TMP Enterprise.
Tmp?

Thank you very much, wayne harding, for uploading this interesting video so that we can see it again in the future. ™
Please have a nice weekend. ™
Beautiful work
Oh, this gave me chills. I love how you incorporated visual elements of the Motion Picture in this! It's a wonderful way of smoothing the transition from the 60's TV show, to the more sophisticated sets from the 80's. Like the expanded main bridge of the Enterprise D from Gemerations, it leaves the viewer with the feeling they were always there, if you just knew where to look.
Wow. This is just beautiful. Nice work!
This was AWESOME! Good job!
HOLY HELL!!!! That was just amazing!!
That was gorgeous, thank you.
Best I’ve seen!! Bravo 👏
Hell of a job, sir! Well done!
Beautiful
beautiful, simply beautiful
That was beautiful!
Amazing job on this.
Looks Like they already refit a lot of it, mostly in the engineering hull. The ships were modular so the bridge, main hull, neck, Impulse deck, warp nacelles and engineering hulls are all plug and play parts.
Beautifully done! The visuals, the music. Love the uniform color on Kirk and Sulu. Roddenberry would have loved this.
Very nice star trek phase-2 enterprise model. You even got the interiors and warp care bang on to the test footage. Well done.
Best updated version of the original Enterprise I’ve seen. Great job!
This is so beautiful!! Wow!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Simply, a masterpiece!
She's coming for a refit...great job 👍
Wonderful work.
Great work.
This is a masterpiece!
That is a masterpiece. There are so many remodellings but they always make her look far too hench. This one nails it perfectly.
For some reason I started getting Titanic vibes, such a beautiful ship and that soundtrack just brings me peace.
Excellent job!!
A very interesting Enterprise design - quite unique!
Spencer's Enterprise is by far my favorite version.
Nicely detailed sir
Hey that was some really good CGI, and the interior shots were a real nice touch. Especially liked Scotty overseeing the shutdown of the warp core. Jimmy Doohan would be proud.
Nice update of the original Constitution Class!
Unreal how you inserted the Actors!!!
kinda brings a tear to the eyes doesn't it ??
the five year mission is done & it's time to come home for a tune up & new coat of paint
(although they skipped the final layer of paint because Admiral Kirk thought she looked beautiful as she was)
gorgeous animation, beautiful ship & loved seeing Montgomery Scott overseeing the shut down in main engineering.
although it makes you sad that the original Enterprise ceased to exist after the refit she became the best, most beautiful ship in the whole fleet.
amazing
There are lots of these videos that try to recreate iconic Trek moments in CGI, and, while it makes a great hobby, the CGI always falls short of the stupendous work done by ILM. Star Trek: The Motion Picture is the hardest film of them all to stand up to, because the Enterprise effects are almost unspeakably beautiful. But your video has something that makes it stand out, something that most of these fan vids don't: It has heart! The choice of TMP music helps, and you did a very good job of reproducing the cinematography and pacing of TMP Enterprise visuals. In particular, the shots beginning at 1:16, 1:53 (some of the most ambitious camera work in this vid), and especially at 3:35 (a truly cinematic moment!) stand out in particular for their faithful recreation of TMP visuals. The interior shots, especially your work on the bridge, add a human scale and a sense of activity, that contextualize the exterior visuals, adding more of that humanity.
I think as time goes on more people are coming around to TMP, because it gave us so much to work with, and it's the only truly cinematic Star Trek film (or TV show) ever produced, with the possible (and paltry by comparison) exception of the Discovery pilot episode. This is the kind of Star Trek I wish we'd gotten to see more of, and your video loyally creates a moment never shown to us onscreen canonically: the successful completion of the Enterprise's 5-year mission. Star Trek Continues gave us this moment too, but your treatment is more thorough, and I'm a real softie for the TMP artscape.
Anyhow, if my babbling couldn't tell you, I thoroughly enjoyed it!
Thanks for that analysis, it means a lot to me and I'm glad you enjoyed it 😀
You can't babble enough about a great franchise so proudly display your nerd/geek flag (that's the UFP flag I mean).
Beautiful! I’d love to see an entire episode of TOS done this way.
This did have that 'awkward' transition feel between the series and the movies feel to it. Nice!
Great work!
That was great, thank you
This is pretty cool
so great
Well done!
I love this a lot.
Wow! That is truly a thing if beauty. I really enjoy the re-tinting on the costumes and interiors, and your detailed embellishments on the pre-TMP 1701 are impeccable...just impeccable.
I've understood and appreciated the reworking of Pike's Enterprise, but I think you're captured something that old-guard, first run fans like me had wished for in our hearts in both ST (2009) and in Discovery. Bravo!
really nice model well done
Nice camera rigging...sound work is purty good too.
This looks like unused scenes of star trek movie but anytime to see the enterprise up close is a treat!!! Also I guess we were supposed to believe that only what five years had only passed and not ten years like in the movie where everyone was older.
Very awesome.
Excellent! I had the same idea a ways back (using the Overture to show The Big E returning home) but zero skills. I didn't envision interior shots like you did, but they really help tell the story! My only suggestion would be to add more weathering and "wear an tear" to the model to visually suggest the ship's age and hint at the need for such a drastic refit. You could even have the old gal returning home "on her shield" with such extreme battle-damage that she's nigh-unrecognizable, towed into port by her own shuttle craft.
Yeah a bit like what they did in star trek continues... if you haven't seen that I would highly recommend watching it :). I did think about adding some weathering I would mean redoing all the drydock parts though but it's worth keeping in mind for in the future. Thank you for the feedback though
Very cool and well done.
Great Job!
I sapose it would be a mater of necessary materials for upgrade. If this was a line vessel then I would expect the old saucer section to be attached to a new fully supply loaded primary hule, with new warp nacels. Rather than a full ship Skelton framework teardown refite. As it would make more sense to keep the ships in sevice as long as possible. I sapose the old saucer section could have two new upgraded ssucers attached. Thus becoming a dubble hulled vessel. The new armore, and armed hule planting quickly encapsulating the old saucer to speed up refitting process.
Nicely done.
Excellent tribute to the NCC 1701, great work!
