Floor was coming off of a bout with the flu, plus she can add grit to her speaking voice whenever she feels the need. Her first band was After Forever and when they disbanded, she formed her own band called ReVamp. If you check out "Disdain" by ReVamp, you'll see and hear a very different Floor.
Came here to also suggest Disdain at Graspop. And yes, Floor often adds grit to her concert speaking voice.

Floor is married to the drummer for Sabaton... so keep your kidney. seeing as Christmas is coming up I'd highly recommend Sabaton's Christmas truce official video... as far as Nightwish goes stay with this concert and try dead boy's poem to hear Floor shine even more than usual... or for a heavier one either slaying the dreamer or devil and the deep dark ocean
It’s not the same drummer. This is Kai Hahto. The old drummer was Jukka Nevalainen, Jukka had to quit due to very bad Insomnia. He is still with the band but in Management. Jukka hand picked his replacement: His good friend Kai. Both of them are amazing drummers with with different styles. I love both of them. Kai was the drummer for the band Wintersun. Well worth checking out.

This drummer, Kai Hahto took over from Jukka in 2015 during the making of the 8th album Endless Forms Most Beautiful. Jukka had been suffering from debilitating insomnia for some time and invited his friend and drumming tutor to join the band but he still works behind the scenes.
Floor joined After Forever in 1997 when she was 16. When they disbanded in 2009, she formed her own band Revamp. In 2012 she started singing with Nightwish and officially joined the band in 2013 along with Troy. The song is about an old man lamenting his lost childhood. Children experiencing something for the first time can sometimes bring tears of joy. 😊🤘

Old man? How old is old? As I deem many of Tuomas' songs as autobiographic that means they consist of his own moods and thoughts while grewing older.

Floor has been in two main bands before Nightwish. Her first when she was 16 called After forever, the second is Revamp. Floor has side projects one was called Northward. Floor has also worked with Arjen Lucassen. Called Star one and his Ayreon projects which are colabs with other singers from many bands.
Jukka was the name of the formal drummer. Shortly after Wacken he quit due to health problems. He suffered, among other things, from insomnia. He couldn't sleep. A friend of Jukka's took over. His name is Kai and he has been in the band ever since.
The bagpipe is an Irish Uilleann pipe, played by Troy from the Uk the sixth band member, it is a different drummer🇬🇧
Guys, check our her former bands After forever and Revamp. Than you will understand why Nightwish chose Floor who did out of the bleu her forst appearance in Seattle in 2012..In After Forever you can see Floor in her late teens and early twenties what a powerful singer she already was with het incredible range. She blows you all out of the park. Btw. about her voice when she is speaking to the audience; you don not believe it how soft and beautiful English comes out of her mouth. Just find in You Tube interviews from her; worthwhile and also a prove how humble she is. Nice reactions btw, Greetings from The Netherlands.
Floor's 1st band has been After Forever. Fantastic too. MUST see "Dreamflight' live. And if you wanna see bad a* Floor. Revamp "Disdain" live. Revamp was her Band before NW. And yes you have still seen NOTHING yet. Still no song Tuomas has written for Floor. Coming 😂😂😂🎉❤

Floor started in After Forever (great band) , when the band stopped, Floor started Revamp. You will like the song Disdain of Revamp ( Graspop 2010). A young , blond , growling Floor. Great song.

Highly recommend Floor fronting her previous band ReVamp at Graspop 2010...The song "Disdain"...Very hardcore metal but still melodic...And outstanding...She does at least three completely different vocal stylings within the first thirty seconds...

Her voice is the same from beginning to end... she was pregnant at the last show I've seen.. and she killed it as always from beginning to end... in a 2h show. She didn't look exhausted or nothing (I'm pretty sure she was but she didn't show it at all).
I think she's quite good at getting through things, she didn't make the last show due to exhaustion that kind of schedule while pregnant after surgery and radiotherapy is very hard on anybody, even she crumbled in the end although she did well up to that point.🇬🇧

I think what he is playing are called "Uilleann pipes"...You know, those are the kind of thing that even if you just put that in a song it could still be like: "That's neat...Really different"...But he's like: "No, I can actually play these" and it's like at virtuoso level. You're thinking: "Oh...I didn't know anybody could actually be a virtuoso on those. He might be the only one"...
I think the verse part that begins with the lyrics "Where is the wonder" sounds very vintage Dio...I love that...

Did you notice how many females are at the front-rows? Nightwish seemed to be one of the few Metal bands, you don't have to mind, whether or not taking girl-friends with you.
Floorvwas sick so her voice was rough. Usually it's quite soft and girlie lol. She becomes our Valkyrie Goddess on stage though.
This is a different drummer - his name is Kai (awesome drummer formerly from Wintersun).
Jukka left due to health concerns and went into management after 2013 & chose his mentor Kai as his replacement.

think about this, while Floor is dancing around the stage; she's just under 6-2, and weighs in 175 to 180.......her boot heels put her up to 6-5 or 6-6.....she could play conerback in the NFL.......that's actually an Illean pipe, which is the Irish version of bagpipes, using a squeeze bag under the arm to generate the air flow......Nightwish Army, South Carolina, USA

Whoa! Good ear. I looked it up and it is indeed Deaf Election. The song is called ‘Good For Too Long’.
I wish I could tell you anything about them but I got it from a website called Epidemic Sound. I love the song tho-fit perfectly haha

Guys, please learn the band members' names. It does them a disservice when you say, the guy on the bass, or that the drummer, Kai Hahto, is different from Wacken drummer, Jukka Nevalainen.
