also i dont know how far you got into say you swear or if im just interpreting you wrong but the brother's best friend is actually not the hero in that one bcz ive seen a lot of people who think he is so they dnf it but the hero in it is a sweetheart.
edit: just read your goodreads review for that one and your other reasons are fair tbh. even though i rlly liked it, the book is way too long and if i read it again im sure id be annoyed by the way the heroine and her bestie talked to each other too
