    My husband and I visited Thailand for a month last November into December and have not been able to stop thinking about it since. We want to take our son next time so he can see how beautiful it is and we're strongly considering making the move more permanent sooner than later. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.

    can't even begin to express how much I felt this video... I visited Thailand for the first time in January and it just felt like home. Been trying to come up with a plan that "makes sense" to move to Thailand by the end of this year. Selling all my things and property, nothing holding me back, except fear of the unknown, but excited for all the adventure to come

      Hi 🤗
      I’m Thai 🇹🇭🙏
      1)Basic Thai language is very necessary if you living in Thailand.
      2) How much hot weather March-July can you accept?
      3) Thai traffic can be frustrating.
      4) Sidewalks may smell like garbage and too many shops.
      5) But our Thai hospital will be very good for you.
      If you can accept it, we welcome you.😊

    It was my first time in Thailand at the end of 2023, and I fell in love with the vibe! The people, food, energy, beaches, mountains, markets, everything hits me so much. Something I can't explain. You feel like you belong here. It has become immediately my most important goal to move here by the end of 2024. I spend every single day 4-5 hours searching for a way, how I can manage to work remotely and move there. I'm pretty confident with my level of English after a few years working in hospitality, even though I'm from a small country like Slovakia. It's definitely not that easy how it looks in the beginning. But we don't stop this year! Maybe it's just time to make myself uncomfortable again. Do something I've never done before or maybe learn something new. Let's do this guys! #2024

    Sam, thank you for loving Thailand. Thailand is a very hot country. European or American people have to think about it seriously before moving to Thailand. Here, we have no snow or winter feeling. Thai people are not good at English and you may feel frustrated for communicating. Getting a job here with high salary is very difficult. So having a remote job is very important before coming here. At least 1500 US dollars is required for living here comfortably as a foreigner.

    I loved visiting Thailand last year and plan to visit again. Everyone always addresses how cheap it is to live there but one thing most nomads don't address is income and Visa rules. You're either an ESL teacher, content creator, or digital remote worker. The cheapness only works if you're still making a western salary. What if you're not a content creator or computer programmer? I'm sure Thailand government doesn't want foreigners coming taking local Thai jobs. Tourists get 90 days, if you want to stay longer there are the LTR or Elite visas which are very expensive, even by western standards. Maybe you'll share what visa scheme you used to stay? Anyway good for you living the dream, I love the food too and can't wait to come back to visit. I enjoy your videos ..

Before she used to live in Japan for a couple of years working an international school as a PE teacher before the 2011 tohoku earthquake hit. Then she lived in Malaysia for a few years with the same profession. For a couple of years, she worked in Harrow School in Bangkok teaching sports for high schoolers. She moved to another international school in Bangkok working in the same profession and she is liking it so far.

    Hey Sam, just discovered your channel after watching that video with Steve Lim as I'm interested in Thailand and would love to visit Thailand one day, unfortunately that isn't a possibility as of now, I'm from Luton, one of the worst towns in the UK and here its really difficult to get a decent job, everything is centered around London. Also work life in the UK can feel mundane and boring so I'm not surprised that we are high on the list for countries who are unsatisfied with their jobs. However a lot of expats living in Thailand come from countries with a higher GDP and cost of living. So does that mean expats are more likely to work remotely for international companies as oppose to taking local jobs, as their salary are much less?

    Before settle down at any city or country it is better to live there for few months to get the real feel of the place.
    Southeast Asia has 11 countries.
    Each country has its attractions.
    Talking about melting pot of foods and culture you can live a few months in Kuala Lumpur to experience the differences.
    No city is perfect.
    PM2.5 levels rank Bangkok 9th and Chiang Mai 21st most polluted cities in the world.
    infact during burning season Chiang Mai is in the top 3 most polluted city in the world.
    Have you ever explored Borneo?
    Kota Kinabalu, Semporna and sepadan Island which listed as top 10 diving sites in the world are under rated destinations as to compare to Phuket,Phi Phi or Samui.

    • @onalonan
      @onalonan Před 6 měsíci +2

      Those places couldn't really compare to Bangkok or Thailand bro.
      That's why Thailand is the Most Visited Country in the world. So how can we compare the most visited country in the world with the random country? And I bet If there are more 2 or 3 disadvantages about Bangkok people still rather choose to live here in Bangkok or Thailand bro.
      And that's why only the Populations from Asian countries that permanently moved to Thailand just only Japanese people alone nowadays there are already more than 100,000++ Japanese populations that already moved to lived in Thailand. Do not have to talk about Korean that's a lot of their populations also already moved to lived here and they are a lot too just like the Japanese people. And if you ask why? It's because Thailand is very unique place and don't like any other countries in the world bro.
      And lastly if you want to present your country just presented it straight away bro no need to tell the negative things about another country just to present your country bro.

    Can I genuinely ask, are you staying there using a visa (and if so which one), or are you there under a tourist visa and doing border runs ?

    • @clivebaxter6354
      @clivebaxter6354 Před 5 měsíci

      You cannot do border runs for 5 years! He either has a job and a work permit or is rich and bought an elite visa, you can't just turn up and stay at his age. Looking at him i'd guess the elite visa. Its about $25k for the cheap 5 year one!

      In the beginning it wasn’t much only around 3000 pounds but I would advise to take more than that as you have to account for things like getting settled, these costs can add up especially when renting a condo you need to pay 2 months deposit plus 1 month rent, so that’s 3 months of rent up front before you move in

    • @MancTraveller
      @MancTraveller Před 6 měsíci +2

      Well youll need atleast £1000+ a month to sustain you as a minimum that's living pretty cheaply more the better. Working there is pretty much impossible as jobs are reserved for Thai's only in 99.99% of cases. If you have an income from remote/online work then obviously better.

      @@Sam_tyler_ thank you for your reply. I enjoy watching your videos. Just next time say your number truthfully. I think many English people would love to get up and go! But everytime, I watch people on social media. They just say leave. Which, I believe creates a false narrative. That speaking from a naturalised Thai citizen.

      @kamolpopchoomak9348 Před 6 měsíci +2

      If you come from the U.S., U.K. , Australia, Canada and New Zealand, you can work as an english teacher here in Thailand. Average salary around 1,000 USD or 35,000 THB. It's still above average income for Thai people.

    • @hifiandrew
      @hifiandrew Před 6 měsíci

      That was my comment I just made. The thing they never address is savings, income and visa obstacles. Sure it's cheap if you're making a western salary. You can live like a king. Making a Thai salary though? They don't want foreigners coming and taking local jobs away from citizens, even if you speak fluent Thai which few foreigners do. You want a 5 year visa? Sure you can buy one for USD $24,000. Then how do you make money once you live there? Be a content creator or computer programmer.

    Interested to know where some of the best places are to rent a condo in Bangkok are? I assume it depends of your budget but could you recommend somewhere for low, medium and high end budgets? Thanks

    • @Sam_tyler_
      @Sam_tyler_  Před 6 měsíci +3

      Low budget would anywhere on the edge of Bangkok and outskirts or not near the BTS or MRT trains, medium price would be huai Kwang, Rama 9 , Sathorn , near bts stations that aren’t central Bangkok etc and more high end condos would be phrom prong, ekkamai, thong lor , chid lom

    Almost every country is pleasant for those with an upper level of income. There are millions of migrants from Thailand, Philippines etc who are seeking a better way of life in England, America, Australia etc., these migrants want to earn more money which they can't earn in their own country.

      Nah, Bangkok is the most visited city in the world for a reason, it is way more fun than any Western city. People love the chaos, nightlife, action, restaurants, shopping, cafes. It is just more alive than any other city and I am a native New Yorker. Yes, many Southeast Asians would go to the West to earn more but if they had the opportunity, they would prefer to stay in Asia. Asia is the richest economy on earth (more than the US and Europe combined) and where the most growth is.

U frm UK..feel proud and transfer the money in UK pounds...just a request..I know u r much more smarter than everyone..even I visited Thailand so many times but I came to UK because I have Restaurant business..it's all depends whether you are successfu in your country or not ..this is the first option. ..if not go to a poor country to live..this is the second option.. i think in teenage you choose the second option..because you didn't spend enough time to be in the first place...my little bro please believe in hardwork....time will come..

    There are things you need to look out for that you've not mentioned. Possibly you've been super super lucky and not experienced it but if you've been here for 5 years i doubt it. Thailand is an amazing country, but you need to make people aware of the negatives aswell. Just so they know what to realistically expect and don't get caught up in a fairy tale. You need to mention the customs, ive seen so many farrangs being completely disrespectful and they dont even know they're doing it, tops off walking around the streets is a classic one, Feet on chairs etc... you need to mention the curroption and how to handle that when stopped by the police. These are all super important facts that you need to mention so if people do decide to come live out here then they are prepared. Also, being in Bangkok, you must of come across the mafia a few times. They need to know what to look out for, what tuk tuks to avoid ect..
