Love the way you think.
I had some questions before listening but found my thinking matches yours except on Bitcoin & Cyber money which I personally 'fear ' may evaporate into thin air should another Carrington effect come around.

This guy is good.. No hyperbole.. nothing "shocking"... Basic great info!!!
I like the "nothing shocking". I agree with you on this Vincent. Well put.
Under 15 minutes is also appreciated!
At 70 I have never owned a single share of any company.. Real estate made my living and with several booms and busts which I learned to deal with very profitably.. Now I would like to buy a dividend paying stock for my favorite niece when I am gone.. That's why I'm here!!!
Thanx for the Info..
Ummm....if you need a favorite son....I'm here! Lol

Buy her several one-ounce US Gold Eagle or US Gold Buffalo coins instead. She will be forever grateful that you did this for her. Gold is currently at $1,788 and on its way to $30,000 an ounce! Everything digital will drop 90% or more over time.
@@dpetersen2630 are you sure???
@@lulu-915 Very sure! We live in a virtual, digital cyberworld where everything nonphysical is just temporary smoke and mirrors and very unsafe. Revelation 3:18, KJV: I counsel thee to buy of me fine gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich. Never allow your wealth to be handled through second and third party hands. In other words, nobody else but you has any right to know where your money is or in what form it is in. That's called your God-given right to privacy.
Great ideas. I learn a ton from you and Clint Coons. Looking forward to speaking with your firm about asset protection as my portfolio grows.
thank you for your advice! very sensible!
Thanks Toby for your input, I do have a few of your suggestions in play. Glad I'm doing it right.
Perfect! Let us know how your future endeavors work out.
cash flow positive real estate. Good luck with that!
Thank you for great content and keeping it understandable sir! 👏👏👏💪😎🇺🇲
I’m learning as much as possible from this guy.. his full of useful information! 👍🏼
"Inflation" is the increase (an inflation) of the supply of currency which results in higher prices. Higher prices due to supply and demand issues is just "higher prices".
I appreciate the shorter than usual video but still very substantive.
I liked the acronym HODL but inserting hand under each butt cheek is pretty damn funny
Thank you for this video
Love the video. Straightforward and to the point. No attention grabbing headlines or extra hype. This is the type of guy I trust for advice
I appreciate that! Thank you for watching.
you should get a lot more subscribers , because you are one of the best teachers of financial planning that is out there. I am invested in REITs nd they've done well over the years. I m not much of a landlord , as I like to lay back and have a drink, looking at ta garden. Ha! BUt yea, REITs are a fantastic idea...
selling options is much more nuanced than what you described.
keep in mind that as soon as the financial institutions were legally allowed to buy crypto, they drove the price down on purpose because they saw it as a threat to their system. Either way thanks for the excellent info! you are the best Toby.
Wonderful video for the average(middle class) working class retirees likeme!!!!!!
Many thanks! We are glad to hear that it was helpful!
Great video! Thx for the chapter links.
Glad you enjoyed the content, thanks for watching!
Tobi you are my go-to-guy! Fabulous information
As a realtor I do feel totally comfortable with real estate
I do mutual funds with excess in my corporation. Currently these investments are in bonds & really safe companies you have mentioned! Thank you ever so much!
Great Advice ! You are one of the best !!! Totally agree .

Excellent 👌👌
Hey Tiby, I just discovered your channel.
Excellent, very balanced and articulated thoughts, straight to the point, no BS. Kudos!
May I ask your takes on what usually happens (based on history) to dividends when the inflation hits 10% and above?
Given the usual dividend rate is in the 3-6% does this mean dividend investors lose money?
Do dividend payers catch up with inflation and increase their payouts?
Thanks!
it's better than nothing.
fabulous video!!!!...i appreciate those wonderful ideas and strategies....it;s my 1st time listening to you but now im subscribing and will be watching more of your videos...thk you for your wonderful advice...
We are so glad to hear that you enjoy our content! Thank you for watching and subscribing dear viewer.
I have no confidence in our system/POTUS/election system/government etc.
With the pandemic (& them working to create more), wars & rumors of wars, inflation/hyperinflation, the real estate bubble, the everything bubble…thanx, but no thanx.
100% of my $$$ is in real, actual gold & silver.
I sleep peacefully at night.
Dumping of cash meaning government printing of money. Then people of means borrowing large amounts and buying up assets as a hedge against inflation. That action driving up prices causing more inflation.
Good video using layman's terms, thanks.
Great Information!
Glad it was helpful!
What about Costco? Would you invest in them? Place is always busy!
What about gold stocks as opposed to the metal itself? Gold stocks are up at least 20% of the last couple of months. They tend to rise quicker than the metal itself.
Great information and delivery. Thanks Toby, you're a great representative of your firm.
Thank you, I appreciate that!
Yes!! This is what I do:-))
Thankyou....
Thank you too!
We work for years to have , $1million while some people I know put thousand of dollars in some meme coins and they are millionaires.
Make it into a percentage
Toby what do you do if you have a big windfall like inheritance or lottery when your on social security and limited to what you can make? Thanks Stan
Need to add owning solar to the list....
Commodity-based companies...e.g. oil (xom), lumber (wy)
Mr Toby: I like your idea. What kind of stocks is it good to sell options for? Please give an example (ie. kind of stock, $2 or 1.50 dollars option). Thank you thank you
I am mostly cash although I do have my dividend stocks still. I see no point in holding watching your capital go down. Especially since the fed basically told us they will be raising interest rates. They really have no choice, at least for now. They are most likely creating a buffer for when they have to start adding liquidity to the market. The market is now run by how much they are adding or taking away. They put themselves in a jam.
Cash is King in a down market. As of today I'm 75% in cash, precious metals, etc.
@@blumengary I opened a high yield account online. The interest rates are higher than they’ve been in years.
Well said, I would have expanded on expected Vs unexpected inflation, and how each of these asset categories relates to each
As well as more on commodities
Did u say I bonds? Those are good.
What about Fundrise for the real estate bucket?
Hej ...wait a minute.....Say that again...10:50 Hmm, Is there a video going into that strategy?
tHanks for the video
Better get a cheap house to cover that Investor rate mortgage, usually 2-4% more than owner occupied property. And better check your tenant applicants credit report...will show any evictions and bad pays.
I’ve learned soooo much from Toby. I’m curious though if Vacation Rentals for ex. Mexico is a good investment.
I heard only Mexican citizens can own Mexican real estate. If you are not Mexican, they can take your property away from you when you least expect it, like when you own the property free and clear.
Hi Toby, how about doing a segment on owning property abroad and how to avoid taxes when you sell and bring that money back to the states.
Lmao.
I have always believed in investing in real estate but what about the new order from the dauphin of California that rent may not be collected?
Why do you live in a state that is lawless, when there are so many others from which to choose?
How about holding sneakers as investment ?
earned a subscriber! i agree! especially on the selling option part. everyone i talk to about this though would rather buy gold or whatever because to them it is easier with less things to manage... i'd rather buy companies i like in 100 shares, then sell options for maybe .05% or more each week or 2% or more per month... every once in awhile, you can make 20 to 40 % on a stock per year! that's better and less stress than most realestate flip type deals. you are getting "rent" for the stock you own.
Hi Alex, thank you for subscribing! I hope you find these videos helpful!
Gold, Silver, Blue Chip Stocks, Real estate, and Cash is King.
Fantastic video
Could you please share the link so folks can mirror your 5 portfolios ?
Reit is so much easier than managing properties wholly owned. Better liquidity for a start, and no direct problems with tenants wrecking the property, callouts during the night, non payers etc
Super awesome, that u r
Thank you so much 😀
SUCCESS.fratelo.
Glad I found this Video but Im struggling how to start lets say I have some capital how do I grow it also seeking a Mentor in the IE California is hard
What is the meaning of - sale a put?
I rent my properties in Central America. Considering the potential increases for renter moratoriums, I would not purchase rental properties in the U.S. Property rights no longer exist in the U.S.
not to forget the "relationship" factor.
Where in Central America? I've considered moving to Lima Peru, and it's still a consideration (anywhere in c. America)
Latin America is plague with Socialism and their fiat currency are not stable. Peru, South America, Castillo a pro-communist is getting into trouble now.
Where??
You are right. I have property in la I am selling it I found out I cant give my tenant notice to vacate due to Moratorium. Sucks to be lanlord in La. 😣.
You forget to mention VERY IMPORTANT thing. Interest Rate hike .25% this week. March 15.
Most people hiding their money in Bond market. Let these two crucial days past first before jump in the market.
Fed will rise the interest rate in four phases throughout the year.
Be cautious guys!!
Hold your horse guy! don’t jump into anything yet. Market likely will take a dive on that day and see which one can withstand.
Good luck 👍🏼.
Why not commodities?
They have killed it this ytd.
ATT is the Co with a hiper trillion debt Number one in debt in US
Gold or gold etf ?
THX ~~ U SIR ! GREAT INFO !!!💯
Great information as always Toby
Thanks 👍 glad you found it informative!
You missed Exxon, it has way outperformed Royal Dutch.
Hi Toby my wife and I have been watching your channel for the last 3 or 4 months and love it. We were wondering what you thought about Tqqq in our fidelity IRA acct is it a good idea to move some of our cash into it as it is trading around 17.50 right now it is way down . We would be doing it as a long term hold as we are only in our upper 50s and have no plan on taking it until we are forced to take . Thank you for your fantastic videos you make investing interesting.
Good info
How in the world do we pay bills that usually come out of the bank through auto bill?
But these dividend companies generally pay a lower percentage than inflation?
Example: cocacola currently pays 3.6% in dividends but current inflation in australia where i live is like 6.5 - 7 %
You mentioned REITS- I know that REITS pay a higher dividend generally but aren't REITS taxed differently? Aren't some of REIT dividends taxed as ordinary income?
7 months later... soaring interest rate causes
Stock mkt down 21%.
Housing mkt in danger of crashing.
Bit coin, gold, silver all down.
Etc.
Not easy, is it.
SCHD, VOO, VTI.
Keep eyes on IIPR
Amazing video 👍🏼💪🏽🙌🏽🙏🏼👏🇺🇦
Thank you 🙌
Aged very well, indeed
Walmart Target etc. Hammered in the market. I lost 26% overnight with Tgt. Nobody can afford anything.
TGT really blew up today, inventory MISMANAGEMENT....dumping goods back onto the stores highly discounted
Bricks and mortar anymore I don’t think are going to be what they were in the past. Online will be adopted more and more as the older generation stay out everybody’s used to shopping online.
Sound advice, sit on both my hands and do nothing. Let every one else do the hard yard!
No wonder the world is farked!
Hi there. I'm watching from Barbados. Completely different legal system as we fall under English law. Nevertheless, some things are similar and I find some point useful. I thank you.
Another great video jam packed with insights into dealing with inflation.
Aside from investing what would high inflation mean to small business?
Possibly that might make an interesting topic for your fans here.
Thank you Tony.
Bri
Got it - there are definitely considerations, so I will address in a video:-) Thank you.
@@TobyMathis You're the best Toby!
Great info even for “ordinary people”,with not so much money to invest,he just conffirmed my present thoughts that realestate multiple housing is best option.I dont consider bitcoin good or real its like i think that they will just evaporate one day,so not good option for investing your lifetime savings and become more poorer!
Im thinking to invest in Indian market
Awesome video Toby. What is going on with gold and silver, man i took a big hit buying the top on silver this year. Feel like an idiot. Doesn't make sense how much I lost, bought in at 28 sold at 19. Horrible
Why would you sell? Silver on course to hit all time highs. India purchased 8billion worth a couple weeks ago
Why didn't you buy more at 18.?
Does this work in recession?
🙏🏼✨🙏🏾
I outlived my family and I got all there property and investments. But im wading through the sewer to figure out if there worth keeping or sell them ..
I put 50 grand in fidelity TIPs fund. It has lost money over the last 18 months despite high inflation. Nothing makes sense anymore.
DeFi & metavers play to earn games. In game digital real estate 😎. This is the future.
Qyld ? Paying 15%
In regard to TIPS, the inflation adjustment is based on the CPI, which doesn't factor in housing inflation, right? So the misleading CPI is at 5% while housing is at 15% and you get cheated, right? Just like how inflation results in a tax on your imaginary "gains", right?
I only invest in stocks that pays dividends
I would like to know about gold and silver I can't afford real estate do I need to take my money out of the bank is Cash going to go bye-bye
By GLD on the stock market. Look it up. Buying actual gold is more expensive and costs to vault or risky to bury in your backyard.
If you don’t hold it, you don’t own it. Physical gold and silver. Comex is being drained as large whales are buying physical gold and silver.
Buying an over-priced house to rent out is a bad idea. Prices are dropping, and that 20% sale loss when you decide to sell hits you.
I like t-bills with the interest rates being up. Also, Costco is a good stock long-term
People are not paying their rent so no on real estate
Yea we made that huge mistake dumping Target stocks in 2007. That $180,000 would have been $800,000 today. We lost 50% when the market crashed and cashed out at $60,000. Big mistake
Hi Linda can you advise if you can teach me on how to invest
@@ihekeni87 I really don't think Linda has the track record to take any advice from LOL
Flush with cash? Hmmmmmm. Renting is a PITA - and the whole market is about to crash.
☺️
How about I bonds
Could you rephrase the question?
@@TobyMathis is there a specific reason you prefer TIPS to I Bonds?
real estate is not good idea. reasons 1- you can't sell it whenever you want. 2- it's getting older and while it's getting older nobody wants to buy or rent it. 3- you can't live in same location during whole of your life. 4- there are many taxes and even if house stays empty you still have expenses.5-they build better modern houses each year. my idea is switch between metals. buy silver then convert it to gold then convert it to platinum then paladium .. always switch between them. check ratio charts and decide what to buy.keep some cash in switzerland franc.(max 10 percent)
