- #MurphyRiverWalk #MurphyNC #NorthCarolinaCamping The Murphy River Walk offers a wide variety of trails and scenery. Trails vary from paved, gravel/mulch/bridge/boardwalk surfaces, primitive as well as canoe trails. If one wants to enjoy short walks, there are a number of parking spots along the trails providing easy access to various sections along the rivers. For those who want to spend part of a day enjoying these well maintained and mostly flat trails, one can take an approximate 4 mile walk along the gravel/mulch/bridge/boardwalk trail that follows both rivers and shirts through the edge of downtown Murphy.

That is a beautiful area. I wish the River Walk had been there when I briefly lived there. A great reason to go back for a visit. Thanks for sharing.
I totally agree!
I really enjoy your videos when we are not out and about ourselves. Our best to Joan and you as you bring us these wonderful videos.
Thanks Tim. So glad we could share.
Awesome presentation - thank you
Thanks a bunch.
Wonderful video of a very pretty trail. Jerry and Joan, your videos are always a pleasant watch. Take care and safe travels.
Thanks a bunch.
Thank You Jerry for an interesting and informative video. Really enjoy the walk in a very interesting area.
Thanks Ron.
That looks like an amazing place to visit. Some day....Thanks for sharing. It will be on our list.
Have fun!
Very nice review! I enjoy your walks.
Thanks
Jerry another in a long list of great reviews on wonderful places y’all visit. I know you do an outstanding job of promoting your state of Georgia and as a 67 year native of North Carolina I appreciate your visits and reviews of my beloved state. Where you are at it’s hard to tell when you jump from Tennessee ,Georgia North Carolina or even South Carolina which just shows how great our nation is and such a wonderful place to RV in. Thanks for all your hard work putting together your videos.
Thanks so much George. I must admit, southeastern part of the US is a favorite. So much to see and do, I can on highlight and wish we could show more.
I agree!
Well you found me lol my home town, and currently living there!!! Walked that loop a many of times, hope y'all enjoyed it!!! Beautiful little town!!
And to add, the trail is maintained by mostly volunteer work and charitable donations, although Koneahetta park works do maintain some of it down by the ballfield, opposite of that Lowe's part you were on at the first part of the video. 😉
That was a really cool Walk. We are usually in the mountains, but this was a nice change of pace. That hike from Fontana Dam to the fire tower was a hum dinger!
@@iLoveRVlife I've never walked it over at Fontana, been there many times tho!!! Definitely, what we locals call Gods country!!!!
Next time there, check out J and J's Getaway great campground. We love it there!
Thanks for the tip.
Edwin Manchester was the River Walk Project Manager 2003-2010.
Thanks for sharing. A phenomenal job.
Thanks for more great information. I am following this trip closely as we will be near Murphy camping for a month in Nov.
We love all your videos. Thanks for sharing with us. Can't wait to see if we booked the campsite you are at!
Thanks Wendy. Great to hear you all are enjoying our channel. We had to leave early for some business issues and I didn’t have the opportunity to show Valley River RV Resort. Very nice campground on the edge of Murphy. All paved spots, nice amenities, large back-ins and pull-throughs, and kind staff. Hope you all have a great time in western NC.
@@iLoveRVlife sorry you had to leave early. We are farther out at Persimmon Creek Campground.
Great video Jerry! This got me to google Trails Near Me and came up with The Ocmulgee Heritage Trail in Macon. Have you walked it? I need to start exercising, so I think this would be a good place to start.
I have. Been a while. Has been expanded and improved over the past several years. Other nice trails witching a short drive - High Falls, Indian Springs and FDR at Pine Mountain.
What a beautiful walk. Thank you for taking us along. I didn’t get a single mosquito bite! LOL. As always a wonderful video. Do they spray for mosquitoes you think?
Thanks! We didn’t get a bite either! Not sure if they spray. Usually I spray a little Backwoods on the ankles and neck to keep the ticks and chiggers at bay. Didn’t have my pack this time and didn’t get a nibble.
At’s some kind of PURTY.
That it is.
which campground y’all staying at?
We were at Valley River RV Resort across from the casino on the edge of Murphy. Wish we could have stayed a little longer. Left a few days ago to take care of some business.
