What is Bill of Lading?
Bill of Lading is commonly used as BL. It is a transport document issued on carrying goods by sea. A carrier issues the bill of lading. It is a guarantee document to their customers for their goods handed over to the carrier for the purpose of delivering to the desired destination.
The BL number is a unique number and will not duplicate for five years from the issued date. Issuing a BL to the shipper is a guarantee that the carrier has the shipper’s cargo. Every BL has the same legal value.

Please someone answer to my question..
After the vessel sail shipping agent or freight forwarder issues the HBl and MBL ..
In a LCL shipment ...if the HBL is surrendered and it doesn't include the container number but MBL shows the Container no for the same...now pls let me know when we issue the do according to HBl which without container no...can we issue the do with the container no to our consignee
And let me know if it is must to enter the container no in a BL if the shipment is LCL

Hello, To Order BL is a negotiable BL. Here, the cargo ownership lies with the party whose details are mentioned under "To Order". With a proper endorsement of the party, cargo ownership can be transferred to another party. However, issuing cargo to a party who does not have the right ownership of cargo is considered fraud.

How can I identify whether the Bill of lading is negotiable or non negotiable?

If the consigee details box of the BL contains " To Order", you can identify the BL as "negotiable", rest of the BLs are non-negotiable.
