thank you for not having annoying, repetitious background music on your videos!
Cory Pride hey whats wrong with the cool and fun royalty free tutorial music?
Leonardo Ruvalcaba its bullshit to have music in a video like this
@@leonruvalcaba1549 Sound of the work is very important too. You can hear many properties of the material you work with. Every service tech with some experience will tell you that. Each machine has it's own specific "music" and if you know it, you can find out a lot of problems before they can become a disaster :)
Sound in work is as much important as sight, that's why i also preffer those clips with real sounds of the craft.
@@ogi22 Very true and thank you for pointing this out :)
i'm sure leonardo was joking lol
how satisfying to build things with the tools you made yourself. very nice!
Very very beautiful drawknife! I am a woodworker myself and I would love to use that tool :)
Thanks for your cool videos!
Thank you very much!!
I noticed he was using it with the bevel up. I was taught to use mine with the bevel down as I use a chisel.
Some of the greatest enjoyment is accomplishing something that is useful and at the same time, artful! Nice work!
Blacksmiths is such a old but grate skill I am glad for people that keep this going.
Outstanding 👍🏻 I liked the fact you used the draw knife to shape the handles 😁 cuts evenly and draws smoothly. Quality workmanship 👍🏻
You inspire my forgings, you are like a laser beam.
I once made a turkey by tracing my hand. This guy creates works of art. I wish I could get one of those anvils hear in the USA. Keep up the craftsmanship.
HOW DID YOU DO THAT
You're my hero. I just about cried when you shaved your arm with it.
Hej Torbjorn, Your tools are usually so precise, I love how you just used a handy lump of wood when you needed a soft hammer to straighten out the steel - very efficient!
I am in awe of your talent!! Demonstrating how well it worked was a plus!! Awesome tool!!!
Lovely to watch a true craftsman at work making such beautiful tools.
I am the only who think that its satisfactory see how the knife cut de wood?
Eduardo Basile Definetly not. And my second thought was; that would be a nice variation from the axe when making kindling. Especially when you get planks-ends and similar left over from other projects :)
Eduardo Basile sooo satisfying. Wish he showed more 😭
Г
Hhhu
Once again great work
Thanks Ryan.
Aasif
+Torbjörn, gotta ditto Ryan on that...great job - on the blade as well as the video production. I loved the sped-up bits - you got the point across and with a little humor. Nicely done, sir. 👍🏻
idk about any one else but i think he sound of traditional metal making/forging so relaxing, and satisfying
You are my favorite blacksmith on youtube. Great skill and lovely videos. Grymt jobbat!
Tackar!!
Agree! 😃
Torbjörn Åhman where do you get your metal from?
Some from regular steel suppliers, some from the scrap yard. I have got some from local machine shops also.
Torbjörn Åhman cool thanks for the reply and keep up the good work 👍 can you make an anvil forging video
Nice work! I thought the plant watering interlude was hilarious.
I think the tumbs down is people that cannot make this pice of art themselfs. He is an amazing craftsman🙏
Your projects look like they were made in a factory. Very crisp and precise.
It's always a pleasure watching you work.
Torbjörn, i LOVE what you do;
Little tip; try chalking the wood where an axe handle is gonna rest, or any tight metal on wood part that you don't want slipping.
Chalk is extremely grippy, never lost a head or decorative metal part with it.
Also try chalking your files too, it works well for clog prevention.
Very useful tip, thanks!
Вы мастер с большой Буквы, любуюсь Вышей работой , молодец.Так держать.Всегда с большим удовольствием смотрю Ваши шедевры!!!
Black fingers (as in blacksmith ;) and green fingers in one - just awesome!

Thank you!!
At the beginning of heat treat, it was really cool to see the temper move through the blade (@ 8:17). Great job!
Yes it was! Thanks
Beautiful work is seen that you are a man of many professions .
Wow wow! What an amazing craft. I had no idea how involved of a process this is. Sure makes me appreciate small artisans more, and it makes me realize that they deserve the price they’re asking, and probably more
Why would anyone want to dislike this? This is a really nice video, with no music. Keep up the good work Torbjörn!
Good question... Thanks!
Thank you for sharing your talent. Beautiful work.
Im starting a forge and just getting into the craft. My first projects are going to be the tools I will use for everything else.
Cool, that's great!
Wonderful video, you are a terrific craftsman
You earn a billion subscribers !
Excellent craftsmanship! Nice channel
You are a true wizard. It’s a work of art, as usual! I’m making a draw knife right now…… it will be my signature wavy surface uneven bevel paper thin draw knife.
A steady hand and a sharp eye.
I'm starting to suspect that Torbjörn is in fact a Nibelung.
Yep, and here's visual proof, back when he still had long hair.

I love your videos man, they're always so nice to follow and calming because you don't put any distracting music on them. I really like that.
So much to learn from you! :) Thank you very much for sharing!

I aspire to posses techniques one day like those you've shown here. You accuracy in your to forge shape is incredible. You've obviously mastered the basic techniques, tapering being one of them. Thank you for the video

We need this traditional gorging back to America
Gorgeous! I also appreciate the lack of annoying music.
Everybody would like to be an artist in their trade. I'd like to to be an exceptional artisan first and if it happens so, maybe an artist.
Great respect for you attitude towards material and tools. You're an exceptional artisan.
Oh, thank you!!
Torbjörn, I've watched a number of your videos and after watching this tool develop over 19 minutes, I am going to be hard pressed to miss another video. I am a woodworker and have been lurking and beginning to develop a desire to work with metal. i could almost feel the balance and sturdiness of knife by the end of that video. Thank you.
Thank you very much Jim! I'm glad you get inspired!
hardwork pays off
Fantastic!
I love how he actually shows you what its used for at the end. So many people make videos like these and then it just ends, so you're like what the heck is that thing supposed to do. Great vid man.
Thank you!!
It's a very fine tool! You should be proud; it'll last 100 years.
Thanks
Beautiful draw knife.

This is the best. I always like your work and have learnt a lot of things through your work. Your forged things finishing is so good and clean.
i dont know if i can watch any other blacksmith on youtube now, you've set the standard so high
Ha ha, thank you!
I was about to criticize your way of fixing the handles, fixing them without glue or epoxy or sth else, until I saw you testing it; it is too sharp and deals with wood as if it is butter.
I really Enjoy watching your videos.
You are my favourite overwatch character! cheers! wait.. NOT THIS TORBJÖRN
:)
Unknownz i was about to say that.....
Thanks for posting this. I always enjoy watching your videos. Very inspiring. I think i like watching your wood working just as much as your smithing. :)
Another beautiful piece! The best thing about your works of art is that they are tools, or the best thing about your tools are that they are works of art! ;)

Шикарный скобель, такого в магазине не купишь.

We must be thankful there are old-world men of the elements still walking the planet such as yourself who take the time to instruct us in The Black Arts of fire and steel. These skills are making somewhat of a renaissance and in no small part to folks as yourself, as limited in numbers as they are. You're an amazing and very talented craftsman and it's an absolute joy watching you create. What Ill never understand is how this gentleman and his considerable skills has attracted over a thousand thumbs down!
Thank you so much Tony!

Great. Thanks!
I love it when stuff is still hand made, and where loads of love and work is put in to pieces of art like that. Instead of Wall-Mart massproduced crap that breaks every so months or earlier.
Thanks Mark!! I agree on that.
