MY FAMOUS SPAGHETTI RECIPE

- Doctor Nina here! Welcome back to my channel. In today's video, I make my famous spaghetti recipe with Blair and Marissa. This was filmed a few weeks ago.
Recipe:
-Finely dice one shallot and 3 single garlic cloves.
-coat pan with olive oil and sauté them over low heat until they are lightly brown (add salt/ pepper)
-Once they are lightly brown add mushrooms (if you like) and turn up the heat to medium, until they are lightly brown (make sure to not over cook)
-Once they are cooked, you can add ground beef to the pan on medium until it is fully cooked.
-Add 2 jars of marina a la vodka sauce, simmer on low heat until sauce is hot
-In another pot boil water with a dash of salt and olive oil and cook your favorite pasta
-put the dishes together, and enjoy!

We always added salt to the water because it makes the water boil faster.
noooo the main reason it's to flavor to the pasta smh
actually Salt increases the boiling point of water, which means it will take longer to reach boiling point.
It also makes the pasta not stick together...
You should have used the pasta water that was boiled to add to the sauce, that's what many people do and how Italians cook.. it thickens the sauce and adds more flavour

I re watched this again because I love it. One thing my momma taught me was once you dump your sauce in the pan, add a little water in the jar so if you shake it you will get all the remaining sauce out of the jar. I also love to add my greens powder I have in the sauce for hidden veggies!

Btw, we add salt because adding salt to water actually raises the boiling point of the water, due to a phenomenon called boiling point elevation. As a result, the non-saltbound water molecules receive more of the energy provided by the stove, and therefore they get hotter faster and boil quicker

Actually, the reason why you put salt in the pasta water is to cook the pasta longer, and it helps to clean/sterilize the pasta.
