Especially when everyone else had a dress picked and styled for them. I am so glad you posted because i was genuinely worried and I think it’s amazing that you made your own gown. I'm a plus-size woman living on a graduate student budget, and I have always been able to find a gown with a few days or a week's notice for an event. Macy's online has saved my butt so many times it's not even funny. My friends who often go to formal events are in the size 4 to 10 range, and I can't share with them, so that's not an option. And of my few plus-size friends, I'm the one that goes to dressed-up events more.

So a few years ago I had to go to a gala and I am a plus size girl and I’m sure LA has a shop like this. But I went to a consignment shop that was all plus sizes and it was great because they had lots of options and I found a gown that had the original tags on it it was the first one I tried on and it fit great. So in the future if you need something that’s a little more formal finding a place like that would be great
