I called this exact team happening weeks ago and that includes Dakota Leffew whose almost a guarantee now that we have his coach.....we have crazy front court depth....Mcleod, Lampkin, Freeman, Davis, Bell, and Westry at forward with Starling, Leffew, Moore and Cuffe. With Westry a potential combo 2 guard or SF. Our Frontcourt is super deep unlike this year who all we had was Brown at 6'8" and then like Taylor and Bell both are buns small guys who cant get off the court when they jump. Once Mcleod went down with injury which is cause hes only mesnt to play 15 mins a game not 22 or 23 which he was playing as a starter last year then he should stay healthy and produce crazy great defense numbers innlimited time for us. As long as we get insane scoring Leffew then Cuse is going to be a top 25 team next year. But we will start Starling and Leffew as guards then either Bell or Westry at SF then Freeman and Lampkin down low. We will have great depth at every position and scoring form all 3 levels of the court which is what weve been missing for yearssss. NIL is the best thing to happen to Cuse bball in years. We will be dishing moolah galore to get great players every year and im excited and here for it
We have ZERO back court depth. Leffew will want to come here solely on that and will play the most minutes out of our back court and probably be Cuse's leading scorer next year.
We should go after Roach too besides these top portal recruits

Yes he pairs with Davis but he is not a point guard like I've mentioned before just look at his stats The year before his last he had 1.7 assist the game and he's never had hardly any assist again before that and the same year he had 2.7 turnovers a game he needs a 3-1 assist to turn over ratio to be considered elite point guard he needs 2.1 assist to turn over ratio. He is a shooting guard he will be taking minutes away from westery and from a better shooter in Elijah Hughes I think it's a bad move if you could cross them over and maybe have a multi-dimensional sometimes three guard set that's okay he has a lot of skills of course you'd want them on the team but you need a point guard a real point guard I'm sick of not having a Tyler Ennis even a Michael Carter Williams or a Sherman Douglas which was the prototypical it really makes a difference in the team in the harmony of the team the way it works the way it moves the point guard is essential and he is not a point guard he will never be a point guard he has shown through 4 years he is now a 5th year senior if he hasn't got up to an elite level of assistant turnover ratio by now which he doesn't he should not even think of himself to be drafted as such
If we strike out, could Westry play the point? He seems similar to Copeland, who I thought would inherit the position form Mintz?
Ig that’s possible, but I don’t want to be going into next season dependent on Westry. They’d probably pivot in the portal to someone else
Westry can play point if he has to, but is much more of a 2. I think JJ would start there with our current roster. I actually think Starling would be a very good lead guard.

I think this is a sign of the new era. As sad as us for to lose Qadir and Maliq, many teams are going similar issues… Alabama lost their starting SG to portal. Arizona lost their big center to the portal…

Why go after after High Schools kids ,who's upside is unknown, when you can get a proven player thru the transfer portal? The players who left Syracuse didn't produce a team that made the NCAA tournament for 2 years and to my knowledge failed to make the top 50 ranked teams.
Mintz will get lost in the NBA G League. He will not be able to drive against the trees in the NBA and he has ño outside shot
