I heard that these products were created in the same exact lab in South Korea. Which explains why the formula and color selection is quite similar.
This is why when I go to Korea I stock up on Korean brand brow pencil for $3-5!

I understand the Loreal Brow Stylist Defined is a "dupe" for the Brow Wiz as well. I own the Loreal one (but not the Anastasia one) and I absolutely LOVE it. I'm probably the best judge of a brow pencil because I literally HAVE no brows thanks to chemo, heh. They ARE slowly growing back though (although they're spotty) and the Loreal pencil makes me look like I actually have hair where there isn't any.....just sayin (shrug) 😉

I have the Anastasia and the Loreal one you're talking about, Poenut. (Love your name!!) I haven't tried the NYX, but I can tell you the Loreal is a straight up dupe for the Brow Wiz. I actually like the color of Brow Stylis better, too. My two favorite brow gels, if I use any, are the Ulta Brow Tint and Channel tinted or clear brow shaper. Those are obviously for when you have more hair. It'll come back before you know it, though....and thicker than ever, too! I hope you're doing well and if you don't mind, I'll keep you in my prayers. +Poenut I recently tried the L'Oreal Brow Stylist and love it! I have always used brow powders (Laura Geller) but I really like the pencil. I'm glad you commented on it! It is only $8.99 at Ulta.

Funny, I have pretty think brows, so I like it because it doesn't add too much fluff to my brows but keeps them in place without that unnatural glued down look most brow gels give me. I found it through a gift with purchase from Ulta, now I'll keep buying it. It's definitely better than Benefit's Gimme Brow. I'm blond as well, and the Ulta one for blonds is a much better color. Definitely a good dupe find! I go through brow products so fast so a drugstore alternative is always great!
I'm stunned that Emily still doesn't have a LEAST a million subs! I don't dare buy anything until Emily has reviewed it. In the pasted I have gotten things other youtubers raved about and quickly regret it but never with any of Emily's reviews. They are always spot on.
I love the NYX Micro Brow pencil. It is my fav drug store brow pencil. I alternate it with the Brow Wiz and I think the Micro Brow is so close in color and texture. I wear the shade taupe in both and find the colour almost identical.
I have tried so many products trying to replace the Brow Wiz because of its cost and this the NYX one is the absolute best I have found!!

soap & glory had their archery brow/abh wiz dupe wayyyy before nyx offered the Micro brow and its consistency is remarkably more pleasant than of the nyx one.
+So Fresh I totally agree!!! For all the UK beauties, you can get it in boots and it costs about £10. A tad more expensive them Nyx that comes up at £7.

also colorwise s&g is my pick since nyx taupe isn't as good as "blondeshell". but this impression goes hand in hand with the better consistency..
I've tried both the Sephora and Nyx and I like both since they are so similar but I've been using nyx more since it's more inexpensive and don't like the brush on the Sephora brand
Fully agree! Made the switch shortly after the NYX Micro Brow came out. Happy to see they are starting to be added to the NYX displays in Target stores near me as well.
If you are ash blonde for hair colour, do not buy the blonde one. It says for ash blonde but actually is extremely warm/yellow. Would be suited for golden blondes or strawberry blondes. I have natural ash blonde hair and found the taupe was perfect but had unfortunately bought the blonde one first because of the description on the Nyx site.

+skinnypigs1 I agree. the blonde color is TERRIBLE. Very red, and was a total waste of money, would only work for strawberry blondes in my opinion, as I'm golden blonde and it looked way too red on me. Trash pile!!

I decided to buy this product and I am in love with this item. I am using it in conjunction of my elf eyebrow wax and my eyebrows have never looked this good.
I was never interested in trying Anastasia products but I absolutely love the Nyx one. NYX is finally available in Canada and I find the taupe shade to be perfect for me.
I've used the NYX and for a natural red, the NYX auburn matches my hair color. It's perfect. I've not found anything that reallllllly matches naturally.. so great!
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the NYX micro brow pencil!!! I use the black one since my hair is black now. I used to use powder in my brows but since trying the pencil I would never go back! I think it looks so much more natural and not overly done which I known is kind of a trend right now but ehh...
I used the Taupe in Anastasia Brow Wiz and I think the Taupe in the NYX Micro Brow Pencil is spot on. I still occasionally use my Brow Wiz but for everyday feel that the NYX Micro Brow is so similar that I appreciate saving the money. I purchase the NYX one almost exclusively now. I remember buying the NYX Micro Brow pencil a few months ago and really liking it. Although I've gotta say, the spoolie was very rough, but the pencil was fabulous.
I love the NYX pencil, it's the one I go to all the time because I use two colors to fill in my brows and when you're going to buy two shades, then it's definitely worth it to have a less expensive product!

Try the Loreal Brow Stylist next. My dark brunette is the exact match in shade texture and pencil design as ABH. Best dupe in my opinion

I've never understood the hype surrounding Anastasia's Brow Wiz. I love Tarte's Amazonian Clay Waterproof Brow Pencil. I've never seen the NYX pencil. I may give that a go once I'm down to the last bit of my Tarte pencil. I do love the brow "mascara" from NYX. I use it in conjunction with the Tarte pencil. Thank you for the wonderful reviews.

I haven't tried the nyx one (yet), but I feel that the loreal brow stylist definer is a good dupe.
I have tried both the Nyx and Loreal and I like the Loreal one better. No idea what the price difference is though.

I was happy to see you talk about the NYX Micro Brow! I go back and forth between the It Cosmetics Universal brow pencil and the NYX Micro Brow. I bought the Anastasia Brow Wiz last year and never got to use it. The entire lead broke and fell out during the haul video!! I will not be going back to the Brow Wiz.

The NYX micro brow in Espresso is the best thing that has ever happened to my brows. I have dark brown hair and made the mistake of buying Burnette. Burnette is really warm and with my almost black eyebrows, it looked way off. But when I ran out of Burnette and got Espresso it was perfect! I use the NYX tinted brow gel in black to hold my hair down and it is the perfect combo.
I have both and actually think the NYX one was firmer, and I liked the ABH better. I"m now testing the Ulta one, but want to try the Sephora and Loreal brand.
I work at Ulta and recommend this to anyone looking at ABH brow wiz! They're seriously so similar!!

+eyerus l'oreal brow stylist stays on (me) MUCH better than the NYX micro brow. I shave my brow tails and draw them higher, so I need something that doesn't just wipe off... NYX doesn't hold up. HTH :)

yesss! I discovered this a year ago and i like the nyx even better than the anastasia! I use the auburn shade in both and i find that the anastasia is a little too red in tone to look natural and i prefer the texture of the nyx because i have almost invisible brows and the nyx is a tad drier which makes it easier to not go overboard. Holy grail product for sure and I'm glad to see you've discovered it as well
ALSO!! I just found at sally's that ardell came out with a brow pencil thats the same as the new anastasia brow definer (i think thats what its called) the one with the triangle shaped tip. i haven't used the anastasia one but i picked up the ardell ones for my kit, i got 3 shades and they work and look great and are under $10!
I agree! I do love the brow wiz. But the Nyx one is my new go to. You just can't beat the price and it's so good! Love it!
I love Nyx ash brown! I have the brow wiz in dark brown, which I also really enjoy although it's a warmer shade
I love the NYX micro brow in Taupe. It is a tiny bit more cool/ ashy toned than other brow products that are named taupe as well. I personally like the more cool toned I think it matches me the best and I always get compliments on my brows when I wear it.
I love it!!! I purchased the Anastasia one a couple of times and the pencil broke half way through on both... all that money and I wasn't able to use the whole product.... Ive purchased multiple tubes of the NYX one and I LOVE IT!!! I also use ash brown... perfect match!
I really love the taupe Micro Brow from NYX. It's my favorite brow product I have come across. However, I haven't tried the Anastasia one to compare it to, but for the money... I'm not really sure how much better it can get for over 2x the cost. Plus Ulta often has deals on NYX + 20% or $3.50/$5 off of $15 that you can only use on non-prestige brands. NYX definitely seems more worth the money.

Wow! I need to try this NYX one. I guessed that the right brow was Anastasia because I think the right brow was more defined and fuller (which is what I like for myself) so I'm surprised that it's the NYX - very excited to try it! I bought the brow wiz a few months ago and returned it because I felt like it was too "sharpie like" on my thin, almost non-existent brows :( BUT everyone loves it - so I'm going to try the NYX one anyway. The L'Oreal Brow Stylist Definer is also a dupe for the Anastasia Brow Wiz, the cost is the same as the NYX $9.99, but you can always look for sales and coupons and get it cheaper. The only downside is that it comes in three shades; Blonde, Brunnette, and Dark Brown. I featured it in my February Faves video, and I absolutely love it! 💜
The Loreal one is my favorite! It's slightly softer which I love because it's easier to apply. The other pencils felt really dry
that's good to know! I actually prefer them to be on the dryer side. I have fairly thick brows. Just need to define and fill in a couple sparse areas. Too much color pay off and I rum the risk of looking like Groucho Marx!
I have tried the Darker Browns in both MAC and Anastasia, BUT! When I found the NYX mirco brow a few months back in Chocolate, Best purchase in my opinion for a brow pencil. 😅👍🏼
I totally agree with everything you said in this video! I love my ABH Brow wiz, but since I used the NYX micro Brow, I've repurchased three times! I'm so obsessed, I have one in my purse, one at home, and one at my parents home for when I visit hahaha

I love love loooove the NYX one! I was never really a brow person as my brows are very thick and full on their own but I've noticed my scar more and more in my brow and the natural color of my brows is not looking good with the color of my hair currently. I have the Anastasia Brow Pomade and it's great but I hardly ever use it, I just don't love it. I've been eyeing the brow wiz for a while but knowing myself I didn't want to spend all that money. When I found out about the NYX one I bought it immediately and now I can not NOT do my brows, I just absolutely love it! I actually do my brows in the car driving to work at stop lights so it's super convenient and gives me exactly what I want. I have turned into a brow girl because of the NYX Micro Brow lol

I have both of these products and at first thought the Anastasia was superior because I found the NYX one to be a bit drier. But after using it for several months, I agree, it's truly a dupe! I use "auburn" in both brands. Save your $$ people! NYX hit the nail on the head this time!

I like the Loreal Brow Stylist Definer even better than the Nyx. I did pull out my neglected Too Faced Brow Envy kit last week, and I must say that I just don't think anything compares. It was thanks to @emilynoel83 that I originally bought it ages ago. Glad to rediscover why I liked it so much.

Hey Emily you should try the Sleek Eyebrow Stylist. It is a very similar concept, a fine tip, kind of waxy pencil with a spooley which stays on your brows all day. I have pretty dark brows myself and the ''dark" option worked fine for me. I think it would do the job for you as well xo

I use the Black in Micro and have used Eboby ABH and I prefer the NYX one because of the cost. They both do the same job.

This is great! Another possible dupe is from BH Cosmetics HD Brow Pencil. You get a very small amount (.001 oz/ .03 g) but it somehow seems to last me just as long as the Anistasia one. I got mine for $5 each - it just depends on what sales they have going on. Medium is my shade and is almost the same as Anistasia's Medium or Ash. Same mirco tip and has a spoolie on the opposite end. Just thought I would mention!
Good to know! I heard Marnie Goldberg talking about this too earlier this week - first I heard of it. I am definitely going to pick this up when I run out of my brow wiz. I use Medium Brown in brow wiz also so I suppose I'll be picking up Ash Brown!

I've actually never even tried the brow wiz. When first looking into brow pencils I came across something that said this might be a dupe. So I just bought the NYX one and have been using it since! I can't imagine the Anastasia one being that different enough to justify the $11 price difference. I can buy 2 of the Nyx ones for the cost of the Anastasia. 🙂

I've tried both of these products in the Auburn shade. In my opinion, the Nyx Micro Brow pencil really doesn't measure up to the Anastasia Brow Wiz in that particular shade. The Nyx pencil is very different in color (it's an orange-red, while the Anastasia pencil is more of a burgundy-red) and it is so dry that bits of product would frequently break off when I used it.
Just picked this up at Ulta last weekend! I was holding the Brow Wiz and the Micro Brow and am glad I went with Nyx :)
I have never used any eye brow product. So I'm so interested in the alternative to the brow wiz. I have bangs so you can't see my eyebrows much but if the wind blows my hair you'll see them. I might like to try the NYX product. I've tried their soft Matt lip product and love it. Thank you so much for this video!! You're amazing!!!
Wow I'm surprised you don't use a darker brow pencil! Still looks gray on you though! I love how creative and sneaky you were with this idea (wearing one product on one side, one on the other for your previous videos) and I really don't notice a difference at all! Both sides look great. I'm excited to try the NYX brow pencil now, I was going to get the new L'oreal brow pencil because everyone's been raving about it.

I LOVE THE NYX MICRO BROW PENCIL!!!.....I've used both brand in chocolate, espresso and brunette (NYX) and they're great (in Tony The Tigers voice lol)! I've completely stopped buying Anastasia because I like the NYX more. Ulta often has those pencils for buy 1, get 1 half off!
I have used both nyx and Anastasia in taupe and found the nyx to be a bit too warm. I'm pale, so you could see a difference. I also found the opposite to be true in terms of texture -- nyx was more waxy and more difficult to draw through my brows. Could be a bad batch or a difference in the shade formulas though! I think the Loreal brow pencil is an EXACT dupe for the brow wiz -- I love it!!
For me, it didn't compare at all to the brow wiz (the tip kept breaking off and it was dry, thus having to press harder and it breaking) BUT have you tried the new Loreal brow one?! It's a total dupe for me!!
The auburn Nyx brow pencil is so orange! I wanted to love it and it work out, but it was very orange for me. When I swatched it on my hand it looked nice, but when it was on my brows, orange. I hope they improve the color because it did seem like a great dupe.

I actually LOVE the NYX one. I compared at Ulta between the two and the Chocolate Shade is a total Dupe for ABH. I want to say if I remember correct Auburn was very close between them as well. For the price difference I'm sticking with NYX.

I love the Anastasia brow wiz & tried the NYX wanting to love it (shade espresso) sadly it didn't compare & was not a fan. I tried the loreal brow stylist pencil & it's amazing!!! defiantly replaced the Anastasia for a much cheaper price
