This is how Tennessee Walking Horses should be trained, not with stacks, chains, soring, and heavy shoes.
And oil
ikr
Agreed! And many many others that are seriously abused.
This is how you train them and piafe as well
most tennesse walking horses just have natural gaits no? Stop judging unless you know
The horse obviously loves what its doing. so great to watch and a beautiful stallion.
I completely expected the horse to roll in the dirt once the tack was removed. That's protocol for white horses. LOL
lol
You can really see how much the horse loves what it is doing, the rider isn't pulling and letting the horse move its head freely
My Roan Pony the horse is like, look! I'm doing it! I'm pretty!
His ears are pinned and there is a really harsh bit in his mouth
@@NoName-12bs Yeah. I think they should go for a more less harsh bit, as well as buy slightly longer reins so the horse can move their head more freely. If a rider is able to do dressage without a bridle, then they can use a less harsh bit to the walk. Other than that, the walk was lovely.
@@staceyevans2315 yeah I agree
@@NoName-12bs harsh bit lol. You have no idea how bits work of you think they are all harsh. Bits aren't cruel or abusive in the slightest, and horses get used to it over time.
What a fantastic video - you show so well the great relationship between horse and rider; Ulysses obviously really loves this stuff. It's a joy to watch you!
That Spanish trot is amazing!
Some say this is a Circus trick! I videoed my 2 year old colt doing a version of it this summer in the field showing off to the fillies in the next field, so it can be said to be a NATURAL gait which can be enhanced upon with training. Let's not forget the flying change is a NATURAL AIR horses perform in the field too, which is also enhanced upon by training up to the tempi changes, and nobody says that's a Circus trick, which of course everyone knows was first performed AS A CIRCUS TRICK by Francoise Baucher!!!!!!!!!
Im sure the Spanish walk can be beneficial for horses that are camped under in the front to stretch the tendons and build some muscle in the shoulders and front legs. This will be very fun for horses if you train them this with +R
When I was watching this I couldn’t get my eyes off it
A bit too stiff for my tastes when he was ridden, but I love his walk off-saddle and his lovely attitude when the tack was off. X'D
Amazing horse and rider! So classy looking lol!
Real friendship and partnership.
Anybody here from SSO if you are you’ll get it🤣

Beautiful magic to watch ;-)
Looks so beautiful ❤️
Now THIS is a piaffe! 👏
It’s actually a Spanish Walk 😂
Precioso caballo tienes ya me gustaría a mí aprender a montar a caballo precioso cómo lo tienes mi pasión son los caballos 🐎
I know nothing about horse tricks but this is pretty cool 😁👍
very beautiful!
Looks very dainty and light on its hooves :)
But can a non Andalusian do that 'Spanish Trot'? Just by nature of confirmation?
(Sorry--Lusitano).. Same thing, pretty much, right??
I think so, since it's not a gait that a horse is born with. The base of the spanish walk and trot is the jambette which every horse of every kind can easily learn. I'm currently teaching my fjord horse the jambette, to let it flow in a spanish walk. He's learning it without any trouble. Of course every horse start extremely clumsy with a spanish walk and trot, but when they do it more often they know how to balance while performing the gate asked of them.
Of course when you have a heavy build horse (like a draft horse) it might not be so healthy to ask these gates of them, since they're so heavy that it can easily damage their joints.
shure.
Yes - I taught my FriesianxMorgan to do Spanish walk and a little bit of Spanish trot. It was wonderful to help open up his shoulders. However, it can be quite strenuous and tiring, so I never did too much at one time.
What a pretty stallion
Is he clucking every stride? Just asking.. I so want to learn to train this. It's not fit to the typical USA/USDF dressage but I'd still love to work with Spanish horses..
Just be nice to the horse
This to me is turning a natural beauty into a mechanical prisioner
The horse obviously likes it's job. What's wrong with that?
dressage horse piaffe extended
Eh... the only thing im up set about is the usage of bits
There is nothing wrong with properly used bits.
Next challenge - ride without A bit!
Gotta love making a passion out of abusing animals and forcing them to do arbitrary things like walk in a certain uncomfortable way.
That horse works a few hours a day and is fed high quality meals. Bathed and groomed. Pampered. The hardest thing it does is jog. I wish I could come back as a show horse after I die.
@@nicholasgarcia399 And you'll enjoy being a circus slave instead of free? And being broken into submission at an early age, away from all your natural inclinations, just so you can walk around with 100-200 pounds on your back and entertain people?
I'm sorry but being bathed and groomed does not justify animal abuse.
Pretty sure this is not abuse, and not super uncomfortable.. if it was he wouldn’t want to be doing it i think, never put up a fight. i dont know much but this is how i feel so feel free to correct me if im wrong.
@@azzusen4198 From a very early age, horses must be broken into what's considered a state of learned helplessness. Without this conditioning, it would be too dangerous to sit on a horse, because like us, they rather not have some heavy weight pointlessly sitting on their spine. This alone is animal abuse.
It's the same thing with humans really. You can raise a child to accept things like carrying heavy objects around. Just because the child doesn't fight back doesn't mean they weren't psychologically manipulated, and for what reason do we do this to horses? Entertainment? I don't think it's justified
@@Mercymurv got it
Spanish walk is very unhealthy for the horse. The classical dressage masters knew this--they sought progressive collection with each classical exercise, which notably did not include Spanish walk or trot. Look at the movement of the hind legs in these movements--the antithesis of engagement. Raising a foreleg and shoulder to this extent also forces the back to hollow out. It's a shame that Classical Dressage is being forgotten. And what hope is there now that the Spanish School of Riding has privatized? It is up to us to spread the correct knowledge. No, this horse does not look abused, but no one that cares about the biomechanics of a horse would aspire or endeavor to have their horse move in such a way.
