That stone carry at 27:05 was amazing! No way she was going to pick it up the conventional way, so she figured out a very unusual technique that worked for her, and she showed great determination to go as far as she did. It reminded me of something Novikov would do.
I immediately thought of Oleksii when I saw her do that. definitely a creative solution for her frame
Came to the comments at around 27:00 when she was struggling to say it felt a bit unfair to have (I think) an under-64 doing weights that even the opens are struggling with.
Saw this comment, scrolled back up, and fuck me she's got it up and she's walking with it
It cannot be said more...
THE ABSOLUTELY BEST STRONGWOMAN AND BEHIND THE SCENES COVERAGE....
Thank You Auntie Liz...
Rauno is an international treasure that should be protected at all costs.
Dentist here. That sucks about Andrea's tooth. They have great dentists over there (though they are expensive). They can probably cement that bit back on as a temporary measure till she gets back home. Long term there is a risk of devitalisation (the tooth dying) in which case root canal treatment would be required. The tooth will be able to be repaired either with a composite build-up, a crown, or a veneer.
Thank you for filming every event!! This really got me interested in StrongWoman!
The womens side of this sport is growing........thankfully. These ladies fucking deserve it. Just like the mens side of the sport. People need to be shown more of the personalities of the sport. That's where fans of the sport can truly understand what an amazing sport it is.
It's also weird when your realize just how girly the actual strongest women in the world actually are and I absolutely adore it.
Very different from a giants live competition, but given the choice of which to go watch I’d choose this one every time looks like a good atmosphere, and some cool different equipment.
Fantastic coverage. Awesome to watch the UK ladies. Andrea’s log phenomenal, Donna’s stone out of this world!
Andrea makes log lifting look so easy.
It’s so nice having the women competing at the same competition as the men and that you are covering them too. These women are beasts!!
Awesome performances from the ladies, that was a heavy tough comp. Poor Andrea as if she needed another reason to hate stones, as someone who's lost a front tooth I feel her pain.
I have to say Andrea is epic so funny and so commited she seems like a total legend
Listening to Mitch talk about that leg press/arm-over-arm pull machine helped me confirm what I was already thinking while watching the women's attempt; their struggle didn't look like it was necessarily the weight. Rather, there appeared to be a different mechanical resistance, perhaps imparted through the machine's lack of maintenance. For example, possibly ungreased parts, rusty cogs, pulleys, levers etc. Anyone that's ever tried to perform a cable assisted movement on a dodgy piece of equipment in a gym will have an idea of what I'm on about here.
I know exactly what you mean. I can't afford new equipment and got given a cable machine for free from a policeman i know who got given it himself from the station when they updated their equipment. The cable sleeves are broken in places and even though I can 1 rep 120kg on my bench and do 20kg each hand dumbell flyes for 12reps X 3, I struggle on my machine doing 20kg combined on pec deck (that's 10kg on each arm) because it's not smooth and adds resistance on the rollers. Also doing the chest press on the machine is 90kg for full stack and that feels like 120kg
yeah, you can see on the pulls that it isnt consistent in the way it releases/moves. a shame cos its a great piece of kit.
All the apparatus at this venue look unmaintained. Can't believe they allowed this event to take place here, and that atheltes didn't balk after testing the equipment out.. Athlete safety at risk here.
The kit is specifically built to look this way for a rustic Australian aesthetic 😂 it is perfectly safe and solidly constructed/maintained
@@isaaccollins7037 Mitch did actually say during the video that it had been sat there unmaintained for years. He could have just been speaking loosely and taking a bit of "artistic liberty" with his wording. But, I do think what he was saying had a degree of truth to it.
Hard core strongman 👏 Looks like something out of a Mad Max set.
Loved seeing this coverage of an Australian competition. Thanks Liz. Great competition.
Thanks for this Auntie Liz. Hopefully we will see something like this in the UK alongside the Giants Live
Great coverage. The competition reminds me a bit of the MVM Classic in Iceland with the out in the bush type location.
Great competition from all the ladies there! I really liked seeing the woman who rotated the stone in her lap and then actually had a good distance as well. And Andrea that really looked like a hard shot to the jaw, I was worried that the damage was going to be even worse. Wonderful job filming Liz, thank you!
Really exciting competition! Great to be introduced to more amazing strongwomen. Congrats to Andrea 🥈 hope she gets her tooth fixed ok
Fantastic looking equipment and they looked brutal. Phenomenal effort from the women. Well done everyone
I saw Rauno's video from the comp. The kit looked great. I've never seen a close grip deadlift like that. It was like a power stair, without the stair.
Just WOW! I love the strength and beauty of all these women. They're so great!
Oh my, that arm over arm pull.... so much strength and effort for so little movement. Must add a mental strain. Rather them than me.
Watching them pull with all they had, with little to show for it, was a mental strain on me.
Andrea's tooth incident reminds me that mouth pieces are a good idea for all athletic events. I think Brian Shaw puts his in when he shops for groceries.
Another interesting competition. I'm sorry Andrea got hurt. Andrea is the best!! Did she find a room mate?? LOL
Throughly enjoyed that thanks
❤ Great filming, awe inspiring effort from all the ladies…I can’t help but be biased to Andrea, I hope she was not in too much pain ❤❤❤
Our girls are the best for sure,Love you Donna🙃
Incredible work from all the competitors, this looked like a super tough competition. Amazing coverage like always!
Love watching the competitiveness of the women. Then they are all hugs at the end.
That arm over arm is such a cool bit of kit
great stuff
This is great did you get footage of the men’s love this thankyou
Thanks for the video was great they all very strong
Jeez that was intense 🙏
9:54 HOLY SHIT!!! that was impressive 👏
What a great comp, al lovely and strong ladys 🏆💪👌👌👌👌
There were some really inventive machines to test the women’s grip and strength…a few that actually seemed kind of sketchy for safety actually…maybe you all can include your thoughts about the implements in the next recap. Claps to Andrea for another amazing performance and my goodness her tooth!! You hear of muscle injuries all the time in strength sports but rarely teeth, is this a first? Thank you again Liz/Loz for sharing all of the Australian competition footage. Safe travels home.
Megan was extremely impressive, especially for being able to keep up with the open women despite her frame. I have been watching a lot more of the womens side of strogman the last couple years but I dont think Ive ever seen her and shed be a great addition to the more regular circuit
Wow..brilliant coverage from you both..again.
Well done Andrea, sore one tho 😲
Ahh poor Andrea.Hope she gets a CZcams up and running as it would be good to see her profit from her efforts.
Rango sounds like Korg from Thor / Avengers
Andrea = pure static power
Absolut warriors.
I watched you 🎥 filming 📽️ this on Rauno's 📺 channel 😆
Sound is back?!
💕💕💕
What was the rule for the tie on points for Donna and Clark
The background fart at 16:00 is epic..
Andrea, so sorry you got smacked in the mouth! You are the embodiment of power and beauty. Your log was on a whole other level! Congrats!
Well done to all the ladies, hope Andrea wasn't in too much pain as tooth pain is one of the worst kinds. Hopefully in future she doesn't skip face day, that's her only real weakness lol.
Sharleyyyyy
Made it in while "HD still processing". Hope you guys have fun and the work you guys are putting in with Hooper is really showing off!
The freaking Impossifel Stone.
This here is Andreas tooth, pans to Andrea casually still chewing
Ouch Andrea. Hope you are ok. ❤
I want to hear Rongo say, "Ah, well I tried to start a revolution but I didn't print enough pamphlets so hardly anybody showed up except my mom and her boyfriend, who I hate."
I don't think anyone gets it. He does sound like Taika Waititi.
Rongo is hilarious!
Thanks for covering this. Great to see the ladies compete. Ouch poor Andrea and poor first aid man 😆
Andrea could complete with the guys she's so strong
No chance let’s face the reality they are the strongest women and same as in tennis would get beaten even by a low rant strongman
No shame in this just different bodies and limits
I love watching Andrea in action
I truly believe Andrea could press 160 if she could get it to her shoulders
Poor Andrea, we still love her.
no sound
Oh no poor Andrea !!
Excellent performance by the ladies. A very Australian trophy, a decapitated steer head that has been run over by a road train. Brilliant.
A few bits equipment looked like it had been taken from the Thunder Dome, after they had deemed it too rusty to be safe! Looking at you arm over arm, thing. Have they not heard of oil or grease out there. :)
There's no sound for me!
I don't have sound either
Who was the lady with the red in her hair? She seemed really slim to be in a strong woman contest. Guess it's all relative but she was dwarfed by most of the other ladies.
Also, did they really only win $300!?
@@edwardchester1 Probably had travel and accommodation included.
Camilla Fogagnolo - I think there was some women who pulled out of the pro show and she got the last minute call up. She's an u64kg athlete, and actually weighed in at u64 because she competed in and won the amateur u64kg the next day and it's a 24h weigh in, so she most likely wasn't even fully rehydrated and carbed up. Megan is an u82kg competitor as well and got the call up last minute and won the u82s the next day.
@@RubbishGimpy For sure. Still incredibly low. Although now I think about it, last place at Arnold's etc is only about £1k I think.
@@edwardchester1 not sure, as Mitch also got a thing saying only $300 but won $17k, I'll be interested in knowing what the prize pool was. Strength sports are still growing here in Aus and it's still small without the pulling power of a big corporation like the Arnold's, hope it continues to grow and they can start offering up bigger prize pools.
❤ Andrea, let’s go dig some opals Bub? Call me😂. We go find you a flash new tooth hey.
Do sponsors pay the athletes travel mostly? Doubt most can afford it otherwise since competitions don't generally pay well.
At the topmost level, the people running the comps usually take care of travel, food and accommodation. I presume this is the case for this comp.
Depends on the level. The open weight pros seem to almost always get their travel paid but on the smaller side like the women and u105 men, Ive heard it varies by competition
I don't know who let Juji compete i don't think that was fair?
Damn poor Andrea. Hopefully the tooth stops hurting quickly
No sound guys.
good competition strong tough competitors take your brain off the rest of the world for a change
Oh no, her tooth!?!
Is that a BaHa implant Megan wears on her head?
Is Andrea single?
how much harder of a deadlift is it to have your hands in that tight? looks absolutely awful!
Well I thought Andrea broke her finger or wrist under the stone so I guess a chipped tooth is better..
Unfortunately for Andrea, it's actually been proven that mosquitoes are attracted to body odor.
cringe
Just because they are stronger than you there is no need to be intimidated by them😂
More testosterone than the average man
