Worf is the absolute best in this episode.
He is NOT a merry man!
He just pulled a Bluto from Animal House...
I can't stop laughing at worf. Especially when he breaks the mandolin.
BUT HE WAS NOT A MERRY MAN!!!
@@WreckerRyou read my mind!
Everybody raves about Worf in this episode and he was terrific, but Data was amazing too. His straight man routine in this was hilarious
"Do not be concerned counsellor, I believe your aim is improving" 😂😂
😂
"You can add sorcery to the list of charges against that rogue". Why, I use this phrase when discussing politicians all the time.
Fun Fact: The actor playing Sir Guy of Gisbourne, Clive Revill, has quite a bit of voice work experience. He was the voice of Emperor Palapatine in the Empire Strikes Back and Alfred Pennyworth for the first three episodes of Batman TAS.
And Insecticon Kickback in Transformers G1.
A unique voice.
@@Combaticon He should have had more voice work on Transformers.
@josepmassaro and nobody will remember that since Clive’s VO work has been replaced with modern Palpatine
He was in the Legend of Hell House
The scene where Worf smashes Jordie's lute ukulele and the says "sorry" was copied from the movie "Animal House" when John Beloushi's character smashes a guitar and says "sorry". It was the same basic action and the same line.
I had the exact same thought as soon as I heard Worf say "sorry!"
I'd rather call it a hommage or reference than a copy and I love it.
@@berlinvibes19 If it was a true hommage then the movie Animal House should have been cited in the credits. Without the citation it's plagiarism.
@@davea6314 Lighten up, Francis.

The funniest thing is how happy Geordi is playing that instrument until Warf smashes it.
Look at Beverly watching them. She can't hide her amusement.
@@joelellis7035 I don’t think Gates knew it was coming
I seriously need to go and rewatch all the Star Trek episodes again.
When Worf smashes Geordi’s instrument! HILARIOUS! One of the funniest Star Trek moments!
A moment that was plagerized from the movie Animal House when John Bilushi's character smashed a guitar and said "sorry". The script writers of Star Trek should be condemed not praised for their act of stealing work from the creators of the movie Animal House.
@@davea6314 It's not plagiarism to make reference to a scene from another movie.
@@happykoala6007 This Star Trek episode failed to reference as a citation in the credits that this scene was copied from the movie Animal House, therefore the scriptwriters of Star Trek committed an act of plagiarism.
@@davea6314 That's not how copyright works.
@@davea6314 lol

It's not that she missed and hit Data. It's the fact she somehow missed by a mile AND hit Data dead center 😂
The comedy in this episode was great.
Shades of Animal House. Even with the "Sorry" afterwards
Gates corpsing when Worf smashes the mandolin.
Sometimes they leave the bloopers in.
Oh the dead pan of Data. Troi misses by a wide margin and he tells her that she is improving.
Could even work as a fandom running gag instance.
Even Q doesn't understand women 😂
I love how Worf just gets up walks over smashes the mandoline, says sorry and walks off
A moment that was plagerized from the movie Animal House when John Bilushi's character smashed a guitar and said "sorry". The script writers of Star Trek should be condemed not praised for their act of stealing work from the creators of the movie Animal House.
Also, It was lute ukulele not a mandoline.
@@davea6314 I'm pretty sure it was a parodic reference more than plagiarism. It think it would have been more plagiaristic if Animal House was a very obscure movie, but it's still a very famous comedy film.
@@BazukinBelyugovich Is Animal House even in the credits for that episode of Star Trek TNG?
@@davea6314 I don't know, but I really doubt it needs to be, considering how popular the movie is. I'm not trying to defend plagiarism, I'm also completely against it - I just don't think this counts. This really just seems like paying tribute to a piece of pop culture, and not an attempt to pass off a piece of comedy as the writers of this episodes' own joke. The fact that so many people got the reference to me seems to suggest that that was the intention all along. Also, I'm pretty sure the show would have been sued if there was no agreement or good-will involved (though I have no idea if that happened or not, but my guess is the latter).
Now, if it was based on a joke from a very obscure comedy film or series, and there was no credit or suggestion that this joke was based on something outside of Star Trek, then there absolutely would have been a problem. And unfortunately, things like this scenario have definitely happened throughout history, and it is completely unacceptable. But I really don't think that was the case in this scene.
Worf smashes Geordi's instrument and then walks off.
And Troi tried hard to appear useless again by showing aiming reminiscent of UFO Enemy Unknown point blank misses.
1:58 Maid Marian... or Made Marryin? 😄
3:28 "Lovely creature. " - "Intriguing." - Oh, Q is playing with words nicely. She is appearing to be weaving intrigue.
Geordi: "You know I outrank you, right?"
Worf: "Yes. So?"
Riker should have just gone into character. No captain's orders anymore then. 😄
You have not heard heavy metal unless it is in the Original Klingon...
Worf always reminded me of B.A Barracus in this episode.
If only we could have had him calling Barclay a crazy fool.
@@joelellis7035 Or have the two merge in a transporter accident into B.A. Barclayus.
I pity the Q
when worf smashes the mandolin. that came from animal house when john Belushi smashes a guitar. perfect.
While it's funny when Worf smashed the lute, it's extra funny to me that Picard was sitting right there and watching and didn't react.
It is NOT funny because that scene was plagerized from the movie Animal House when John Bilushi's character smashed a guitar and said "sorry". The script writers of Star Trek should be condemed not praised for their act of stealing work from the creators of the movie Animal House.
@@davea6314 It was an homage. Lighten up, Francis.
@@TornadoHound If it was a homage and not plagiarism then show me where Star Trek listed the creators of the movie Animal House in the credits of that episode of Star Trek. Star Trek profited off of plagiarism.
@@davea6314
Are you insane, or just trolling? You don't need to credit another movie when you do an homage or callback.
@@augustday9483 I'm not insane and I'm not trolling. If TNG wanted to do a homage to the creators of the Animal House movie, then they at least needed to write a citation in the credits so the viewer does not mistakenly think that the creators of TNG coined the idea for the scene.
In the words of Sheogorath, "And the CHEESE!... to die for."
Good analogy, by the way. Our world is arguably increasingly being tormented by Jyggalag.
Title of this clip should have been "Sorry." My personal favorite Worf line.
She is intriguing, I’ll warrant.
Worf brought out his inner Belushi!! Lol 😂
This episode is full of so many golden comedy moments
Worf with the Animal House Reference!
Data as brilliantly invulnerable and impervious to injury as ever! 😍😍luv that guy 😂
Ya know, they could have just sent data in to grab her and leave, anyone who tries to fight him would just be screwed, throw on some thick armor of some sort for the arrows and hed be fine, hes quicker and waaaay stronger then normal people
Q: ....this is not going how I thought it would
The Animal House reference always gets me!
Data isn't immune to arrows!?👀
I AM NOT A MARRY MAN!!!!
"We've got to get out of here, Captain."
"Really, Number One? What was your first clue? Here, eat your beans." 😆
Interesting mix of Birds in the background. Willow Warbler is correct.
I wonder how many banjos Michael Dorn smashed filming this.
The instrument was a Lute.
@@JonathanReynolds1 To be more specific it was a lute ukulele. A full sized lute is much larger. I know this because I have seen both. I have held a lute and it much larger that what Jordi was holding. Jordi was definitely holding a lute ukulele.

Not enough 🤣
Interesting sidebar to do with Picard's outfit at the end.
It's similar in design to that worn by the Disney Robin Hood when he pretends to be a stork.
0:33 "Message for you sir."
Also, what happened to "If you prick me, do I not bleak?"
I almost threw up laughing at Troi and Data. That's 😁 Funny!
0:15 Call me a hopeless skeptic, but I don't think Worf is really sorry... nor should he be.

In a million years would anyone ever expect to see an homage to Animal House in Star trek?
Ignore the castle walls echo.
Wouldn't it have funny if Carey Elwes "Robin Hood: Men in Tights" Robin Hood turned up in this episode😁😉.
He would have been powerless. The French starship captain can speak with an English accent, unlike some other Robin Hood incarnations.
🤣
This episode had its moments, but I didn't like it.
The whole Robin Hood and his Merry Men stuff felt tacky and out of place.
