    My cat, Mina was diagnosed with a heart condition a year ago and i wanted to learn this for us while he sat near me (been wanting to get back into playing piano forever now). Unfortunately, like all Americans i fell in the trap of the rat race & prioritized work... My cat died less than a week ago, and it was a hard reminder of all the things i wanted to do with him and now wont have the chance. Thank you for uploading this tutorial, this will be (one of) my way(s) of honoring him. Tell those around you that you love them, do the thing(s) you want to do with them but "have no time," & be grateful for their presence while you can.

    Thankyou. I’m pretty sure like many others that this brings back so much memories that words can’t begin to describe.

    Thank you for transcribing Leegle’s arrangement.
    This seems to be quite a complex piece even if I were to play it without the reverb and delay of the original. LedZeper is such a genius composer.

    Interesting choice of sound and nice remaster in general, you've added things I was hoping you'll add. Btw wanted to ask how are you? :)

    • @PinaCoco
      @PinaCoco  Před 3 lety +2

      What would have been your choice of sound?
      I kept resonances high for the "dreamy" effect, bright yet warm sound but more on the bright gentle side.
      Still can't figure how to make my bass sound super tight and clear without any mud around it.
      Yup, in general didn't want to change anything but going into the editing I actually did lol.
      Doing great! Found a job in my profession so there's that after a lot of struggles.
      What about you?

    • @Atars23
      @Atars23 Před 3 lety +1

      For a piano cover I would definitely keep it as it is, therfore I think you did a good job. Maybe a little bit more of that brightness you mentioned for the treble notes but that's it.
      Glad to hear you're doing fine, I remember from previous chats how you struggled to find a job, well that's history now :).
      About me, well I started learning piano with a teacher, focusing on music theory and bit teqhnique. Technique will come in time, but theory, well you have to learn. Since the americans love to make everything themselves it is impossible to learn the universal music langauge on the internet, so I decided to take lessons.
      I told the teacher that my goal is to improvise on the piano, so that's why I decided to focus on music theory.
      Hopefully one day I will be able to improvise well and maybe when I feel confident enough I'll start developing my hearing skills. Maybe by then you could throw me some tips 😉.

      I will try adding more next video, something I think it sounds too bright in the treble and sharp but I guess it's a matter of taste.
      Although I'm feeling great about starting a job I know it will be hard to balance everything once again.
      That is great to hear and I'm really happy for you for deciding taking the next step in improving :)
      What is your music background?

    • @Atars23
      @Atars23 Před 3 lety

      @@PinaCoco I said it should be brighter because I compared it to the original track by Nexon. Other tracks might not fit with it.
      I'm sure you will be fine. As you said it's all about balancing the time right, dedicate more time on the important things.
      I actually dont have any music background, I was learning by myself and now I decided to take another step.
      I adore the classical music, but the true masters of improvisation are the jazz players, which I also like, but less.
      Speaking of music background, do you have any idea what's Leegle's?
      There's another pianist on yt that I love, Cateen, who I'm pretty sure you know, and I think his music bg is jazz.

    • @PinaCoco
      @PinaCoco  Před 3 lety

      @@Atars23 Cateen? Of course.
      I actually transcribed one of his arrangement which was a nightmare.
      Leegle studied Classical Music abroad as I understand and have 10 years+ on a Piano in general but I probably a lot of details are missing.
      Cateen is a different beast, so well rounded Pianist

    That's not fair. You can't just slow fade a picture of our past at the end and expect us not to feel sad after the beautiful piece. ;-;

    Happy to see you post a new one! I’ve watched your other video plenty of times. I’m a beginner trying to learn. Any good tips?

    • @SuperZebezian
      @SuperZebezian Před 3 lety +2

      I know you are asking PinaCoco, but as a piano player, I have a couple tips for you:
      Above all, consistency is key. If you practice consistently (even 5-15 minutes per day) you will absolutely make far more progress than one or two binge practice sessions per week.
      Second, I would suggest getting a physical metronome or some equivalent (like an app) for practicing songs. For many difficult songs that I try to master, I might begin playing at 10% of the actual speed or slower. A metronome is a huge help with this. If you can't play it correctly while it is slow, then it will be even sloppier when it is normal speed.
      Third, I would practice one hand at a time, especially if you are a beginner. Top or bottom hand first, then the other, then both together, using the slow to fast metronome method that I described.
      Fourth, don't put all your practice eggs in one basket. Definitely have a song or two to practice in-depth over a longer period, but don't forget to look at easier pieces (even *very* easy pieces) to simply keep your mind fresh, sharp, and adaptive. If you're newer, though, this might not be as big of a deal. Keep it in mind, though.
      Hope some of that helps!

    • @StrawHatIuffy
      @StrawHatIuffy Před 3 lety

      @@SuperZebezian It absolutely does help! I’ve been trying to learn songs with each hand separately at first and that’s helped me plenty so far.
      The metronome is probably my greatest obstacle right now. I need to just not be lazy and learn how to use it properly. I appreciate your insights! Any advice from anyone helps.
      Anything else you think I should be practicing? Scales or something along those lines?
      Thanks again!

    • @SuperZebezian
      @SuperZebezian Před 3 lety

      @@StrawHatIuffy Scales are not bad. Definitely do them! My only other advice is perhaps get a program that can test your note-identification skills. on IOS there is an app called "Notes Trainer" that is free and, in my opinion, very good for randomly generating notes for you to quickly identify. Simply being able to quickly tell what a note is and where it is goes a long way.

    • @PinaCoco
      @PinaCoco  Před 3 lety +1

      Hello!
      SuperZebezian pretty much said it all.
      Pratice slowly, seperate hands if needed, play easy pieces just for the fun of it, staying in beat is important, also try counting the measures while playing, might be hard at first but it will help, humming the melody of pieces is great and fun.
      Scales and basic theory will make it easier for to memorize pieces instead of trying to memorize each note you should memorize patterns, chord progression.
      Originally I'm an Acoustic Guitarist and second self taught Pianist so my best tip is to get a good teacher even if it's only for a year because it's essential to build good habits.
      I still tend to break my posture when playing the Piano and It's something I need to work on to the point I don't think about it.
      And most importantly you need to understand I don't play everything you hear on my channel. I'm glad to know I inspire people but I'm mediocre at best but just like you I practice to get better.
      Cheers!
