  • Did you know the Charleston peninsula is divided up into fourteen distinct neighborhoods? Each neighborhood has it's own personality. When most people think of downtown Charleston, they think of South of Broad, with it's historic homes, rainbow row, and panoramic harbor views. But there is much more that the peninsula has to offer. Which one is your favorite?

    Thanks so much....what a great review of all the neighborhoods! They each seem to have their own personalities. Nice tidbits and pics.

    Awesome video, most helpful I’ve seen yet. I keep hearing mixed things about NoMo. I love the look of the brand new complexes in the area but optimal safety of location is important. As a single woman who likes to walk her dog frequently, is this area safe? Looking at The Merchant and The Foundry complexes in particular. Any other suggestions are appreciated 😊

    Great! Thank you for the great tour. Is there a highly rated public high school in any of these neighborhoods?

      Thanks for watching! Here is the site I use for schools. www.niche.com/k12/search/best-public-schools/m/charleston-area/

      @@TheBillOlson Thank you for your quick reply Bill. I do use niche but they don't list the 'neighborhood' the way you have broken it down. They just say 'charleston county school district' which leaves me without an understanding of the location schools. Im planning a visit and possibly a move and so watching your videos, trying to get clear on what is where.

    My experience with this lovely city was from 1965 - 1979. We were military and bought a great ranch house for $17,600 on Jame’s Island! That was before way before the influx of the fast food migration! Now when I go to visit, there are no more empty farmlands. It is a pity what the “powers that be” allowed to happen there with no proper zoning

      Fast food chains are a disease to this once great nation.. just cheap mass produced garbage

    Do you recommend summerville, or how about Aiken?

    • @TheBillOlson
      @TheBillOlson  Před 3 lety

      Summerville is great! I have a lot of clients that purchase there. It’s one of the more affordable areas that’s still convenient to the beach. Aiken has more of a small town vibe as opposed to Summerville, which still has that smaller town charm but has almost twice the population at approx 55k.

      This is a great area and very centrally located. I have friends that live in the neighborhood and they walk most places.

      Move somewhere else that isn't Charleston. Especially if you're from Ohio.

      North Charleston is a great area to live. It usually gets a bad rap, but there are some cool areas IMO.
