    Ever since they knocked down the International Market Place and King's Alley, I haven't been back to those places. I like walking around Kapiolani Park and along the Ala Wai - great memories of when we used to live on the Ala Wai, a long time ago.

      Thanks for watching! Kapiolani Park is one of my favorite spots to go for a run. Plenty of open space and Diamond Head in the backdrop.

    Years and years ago when they made that walk along Kalakaua Ave, best thing they could have done, just opened up the entire area to all. I can remember strolling up and down the Ave window shopping many times, having lunch at the Royal Hawaiian Mall. I thot the International Market Place was gone now? Bulldozed for another shopping center (like Waikiki needed that)---just saw your video on the new International Market Place, at least they left the banyon tree. Still, a nice mall overall.

    Have you ever done a video for the Polynesian Cultural Center? The last time I was on the island was the first time I had visited there since they added the village of food trucks. It definitely added a lot of options to visit, but even without the food, the history of the culture is such a beautiful story to see told throughout that Center. I thought that could make a great video of yours if you haven’t already.

    • @howellwong11
      @howellwong11 Před 2 lety

      I went to the Polynesian Cultural Center back in 1971 and it was great. It put on a show that I don't think could be duplicated because time have changed everything in the name of progress.

    • @YestoHawaii
      @YestoHawaii  Před 2 lety

      First off, thanks for watching. Hawaii is the state with multiple islands, each with its own unique personality. This one is the island of Oahu. It’s the city of Honolulu & Waikiki is a neighborhood of a hotel district about 1 mile across with lots of hotels, restaurants & shopping. This video shows a snippet of the hotels area so people who stay in Waikiki can get a feel for where things are in relation to where they are staying. It’s a narrated walking tour I made while out on an afternoon exercise stroll.
