    I Always wait for your videos. I spent the entire day yesterday learning from your videos. Would love to watch a live video of you creating a track from scratch. Right from the first step to the last step mastering! Thanks in advance!

      Thank you very much for your kind words Vish! Truth be told, a live video of a full track creation would be upwards of 30 hours. I could maybe recreate a track I've already made in 10-15 hours but it would still be too long for most people. Maybe like a 4 part masterclass of 3 hours per episode. Thanks for your suggestion though. I'll give this some thought...

    On the note about not specifically looking at the parameter values, have you spent much time setting up MIDI controllers to control your VST parameters as opposed to mouse/keyboard? I just picked up a new MIDI controller largely to have some hands-on mixer/eq controls so I'm not tempted to rely on my eyes as opposed to my ears. Time will tell if it's actually worth it!

    • @SynthwaveDojo
      @SynthwaveDojo  Před rokem +1

      To be honest, I haven't spent much time using my MIDI controller for controlling VST synths. The reason is that, in my case, I use many different synths. And there's no single way to fully map a synth to my MIDI controller automatically. So I would have to map the controls manually. I guess I could map at least Filter Cutoff, resonance and Env 1 and Env2 because those would apply to almost all my synths. But it's something I'd have to do manually. I'll give this some thought though...

      @@SynthwaveDojo I think it's something that's very DAW dependant. I just picked up an FLKey (basically a Novation Launchkey with some firmware tweaks specifically for FL Studio), it allows you to map 8 faders & 8 encoders on a per plugin basis (as well as handling mixer volume/panning etc.).
      Like you say, each plugin is different. But it's nice to have relatively generic controls like filter control, envelope(s) control, LFO etc. largely preset.
      Granted we'll likely not get to a point where we can easily control every parameter of our 6 operator FM synths, but it's nice to have a little more hands on control at least!
      I've actually configured my DAW to allow me to control all the parameters of PG-8X via my JX-08. Which seems ridiculous of course, but it'd be nice if we didn't have to rely on someone outside of Roland to make a great JX-8P plugin!

      after having this chat with you, I realize there are some basic controls I could map in my controller for every synth I own. I would have to bite the bullet and invest in doing this one time but then I'd be set up for life. Strongly considering doing this. Thanks so much for bringing it up! :-)
