    Another good video Tom. I have been waiting 20 years to see this video. Ever since your article in Wildfowl Carving Magazine.😊Your preening Hen is looking top shelf.

    Thanks Tom, this video has really helped me on basic feather painting! Any chance of showing any difference on hen divers?

      You are welcome! There is a lot variation in hen divers but will try to work that in the next hen diver I am carving. I did do a demo on a hen canvasback gunner (check out the play list for the Canvasback Gunning Pair) but kept the painting very simple on that one. Not a lot of feather painting on that gunner.

    Thanks, Tom I enjoyed that one. I noticed you use the gray automotive primer before you put on your texture, you probably said why you do this,for give for asking again.

    • @tomchristieart

      Thanks Kent. I use the primer to help seal over the Deft wood sealer and promote good adhesion between the surface of the decoy and the acrylics I’m using to paint with.

    Do you have a guide to what colors to use for each species and what paints you use >?

    • @tomchristieart
      @tomchristieart  Před 10 měsíci

      I cover that in the painting videos that are for sale on my web site at tomchristieart.com
      There are 14 different “how to” videos there if you have any interest in that approach.
