How to change a headlamp bulb - Vauxhall Corsa D - passenger side, without removing wing/headlamp.

- I would recommend getting someone professional to do this while you stand by wait and/ or get coffee. However there is not always someone available and we are all required to have the spare bulbs in the car, so this might help some people.
Firstly get the car in a safe place to work on. Park brake on and ignition off. Actually pulling the bulb out and pushing back in takes a degree of force (known as interference fit) there is no twisting, it just needs a straight pull/push in the correct position. Looking and taking note of the position through the headlamp lens will increase the likely hood of success. The clip holding the cover in place was missing from the car in the video so could not demonstrate clipping back on. The water tight cover is a real challenge to re-fit squarely due to the confined space on the passenger side, but his is important or the bulb's life will be shortened.
Drivers side bulb is less difficult as removing the air filter box gives space to work in. Black filter box pulls off once hose clips are made loose, gradually working the filter box away from the rubber retaining lugs. Taking a picture of the box before removal might help with re- presenting the box back in again once complete. Make sure the air apertures on the box are contamination free while detached.

I have had enough...after failing to get my bulb out I resorted to punching the car headlight unit as hard as I can for 20 seconds breaking the light and cutting myhand open in multiple places...thankyou vauxhall... absolute wankers!
Quick question - do you have autism? Because I've reacted like that to extreme stress before. Sounds tough, hope you got it sorted in the end
@@verzeda Not that I know of mate but IMO everyone has something these days you can't have a bad day without being depressed you can't have a overwhelming experience without having anxiety and you can't get overly angry without having autism.

Honestly you don't even need to take off the fuse box lid or remove air filter for the other side. You can take the metal catch off and then the plastic cover without removing anything, the driver side is easy enough to take out the bulb, the passenger side has less room and is a bit more fiddly, but you can change both bulbs without removing any parts at all apart from the metal clips and the light covers. It's a bit more fiddly getting them back on but can be done. Did them both myself today. Didn't have to remove any parts at all, opened the bonnet, took metal clips and covers off, changed bulbs then fiddled for about 10 minutes getting the covers back on lol
You must have hands the size of a 3 year old, aint no way I was getting my hand in there.

What a terrible design, Vauxhall are making things as difficult as possible.
I have a much bigger arm. I can't even reach as far as you. I'll stick to the demolition method, it doesn't take much longer.
Great way unlike who thoe remove everything
Absolutely no need to remove any headlamps. Just simply remove the fuse box cover and screen wash filler neck then rotate the metal clip. Remove the plastic cover and reach in with left hand and pull the bulb/connecter out. Disconnect the bulb and replace. 10 min job.
It's not taking the old one out that's the problem. You have to have Hobbit sized hands to be able to clip the bloody thing in. Terrible design
The bulb connects to the holder which is on a wire several inches long so no issues regardless of hand size. If you’re trying to push the bulb into the rear light assembly without it being connected to the wired connector then that’s where you are going wrong.
I lost patience trying to do it this way with my fat hands 😡 ended up taking the light out..what a stupid design

More and more terrible designs in cars the last couple of decades. Looks like they employ monkeys in their design departments. Also in this particular case it's less time consuming to remove the unit. Also try changing a horn in a Toyota hahahaha. Have to dismantle half the front end. Welcome to the era of efficient tin can design.

It is on an Opel Corsa but it's passenger side on a Vauxhall Corsa like the one in the video. A Vauxhall Corsa is a rebadged right hand drive Opel Corsa
