Roll Bar Padding Removal - I'm Shocked by How Good It Looks

  • Taking off the OEM roll bar padding on my JKU. With a few mods and an hour or two you can easily make it look awesome!!
For those of you who are tall, I recommend getting some cheap roll bar padding from jegs or somewhere similar and putting a small strip where your head would hit if you bounced.

Just last week I was thinking of doing this! But noticed as I unzippered all the wires and didn't know what to do so I decided not to. Looked around for some videos and couldn't find any, then you make one! Woohoo! Thanks!

I like it. I bought my Jeep used and the soccer mom that owned it before me had a huge horse of a dog that chewed up the rear passenger side padding.
I peeled the padding back and seen the wires and green primer. Then had a spiced rum and never did any thing else about it. LoL.
Completely doing this to mine this weekend. Thanks for the video.

Seriously thinking about doing this. My dog chewed part of my roll bar cover and this would be way cheaper than replacing the cover which I don't really like anyway. As for the rear roll bar light. I never use it so I might just remove it entirely and tie off the ends somewhere they cannot be seen. Thank you for the vid. Great video!

Hey Man, Awsome Video - So Smart to show
is the End Result First ! Very much appreciate
that you thought that through - wish more guys
thought of that - spend one minute at the Front of the video showing us what we will get After
we do the Mod . Smart as Hell you are ! I’m super glad you took the time to do this video-
I myself Really like the look of the ‘naked roll bars’ - could never have envisioned what they
look like w/o all that padding crap on them w/o
your thoughtful video. I’m excited to do mine
now and I will throw all that padding crap out in the trash and i’ll likely just ditch the rear dome light as well, don’t think I’ll miss it and the Jeep will look cleaner w/o it. ( i’ll prob not snip the wires though and just roll them up & tuck them away in case it turns out I just want to mount a
nice little bright LED flood light up there if I find
I’m wanting more illumination in the rear of the Jeep at night. Great Video Man ! Love your slow easy pace and you are conscious of your camera angles so we can see Everything you are taking about - Nice Job -Much Thanks 👍🏼

I took my rear done light and moved it up front because it’s so much brighter, I also swapped the bulbs for led. What did you end up doing with the seat belt, cutting around the padding or removing the belt attachment? I was parked waiting for someone when the thought of removing padding and plastic trim hit me. I started removing but realized the top frame and seat belt were attached through the existing holes in the padding. I tried to remove the seat belt but seemed like it was on so tight I thought I might damage something if I pulled too hard on the T50. I'd prefer not to cut the padding in case I change my mind. Either way, curious what you did. Great video, appreciate how well thought out it was.

I did this randomly in a deep cleanse of my jeep and garage. Luckily it's all pained. However I LOATHE my handles to get in, they are Jeep oem wrap around roll bars. Alternatives?

Dumb lights ! If you have a 2 door, like I do, the dome lights are in the sound bar. Not a problem. I appreciate the video. I really don't like those dirty covers. I think I will do mine tomorrow.

Hello I know this is an old video, but like yourself have been thinking of doing this for quite sometime now, the dome light in the back can you just completely take that off or do some of the wires that go to that go to other things?
