When he said people have had kids... they've had family's.. I felt that. That's me. I have 2 kids now lmao
Congratulations 🎈🍾🎊🎉
A lot can change in 5-7 years.
@@AndresRestart you should have a heated debate with @RGT85; he’d be perfect for this series!
Metroid prime 5 will be out before metroid prime 4
Someone is born every 7 seconds and someone dies every 13 seconds....it's an empty statement to bring up people have kids....that's just life carrying on, it has nothing to do with anything. Like saying well I started with one cancer cell in my body and now I have many. Same thing.
Congratulations. Ive had 2 kids as well since the prime 4 reveal as well
obviously Nintendo does care Metroid Prime 4 but not to the same level as their top tier franchises
It has to do with their polishness of their games behind the budget
I see Metroid fans patience for Prime 4 is long gone at this point.
Seven years with zero concrete info. Patience only get you so far.
You all are why games get released unfinished. Patience. It'll be worth it. @@chuckec
@@tntbigshow4826 shut up nerd, I’m not why anything happens.
@@chuckec 5 years. Not 7
Metroid prime 1 was the sole reason I got a gamecube. When I found out they were making prime 2 echoes I was on cloud 9. Got a wii hoping for prime 3. Got it and ascended beyond an ascended lol. I'm surprised people aren't that interested in metroid prime series. It's good.
It's a weird, niche, nerdy game
It's weird. They released Metroid Prime Remastered and Fusion on NSO, I could've sworn they were building up to Prime 4. It's been over a year now though :/
Momentum is nearly gone
Nintendo is never about momentum. You can wait years for an entry in a franchise until they have a cool idea for it... They aren't EA that shit out the same crap year after year lol.
They shadow dropped prime 1 last year, and i really thought they would do the same for prime 2 this year but it seems like it won't happen
Yes they care soo much they restarted development.
I think we should expect any big games to be cross gen at this point and maybe Nintendo wants to elevate Metroid with the excitement of new hardware
I remember the marketing for Metroid Dread...it was my first Metroid game...the marketing was so good and well thought out, I knew there was no way I wasn't going to give that game a try. The marketing made me feel like I feel with new Mario, Zelda, Luigi, Mario Party etc games where I was like I have to try to this game day one.
Dead Cells also cost a fraction of the price of Metroid Dread. When there's a comparable experience priced at $25 (or less), you're going to sell more than a full $60 game.
Also, I can't find any numbers suggesting Dead Cells sold more than Dread on Switch specifically. Selling 10 million units for $25 a pop on Steam/PS/XB/Switch combined is great, but it's not really similar to 2D Metroid at $60 on Switch alone.
Last point, Dead Cells lifetime sales have been consistently updated. Nintendo has never went back & reported on how many Dread Sold after the first 6 months. Not saying they sold 1 million more, only that we'll never have the full picture.
This game has been in development hell for far too long
It's a great series start but yeah I think you could be more heated. Like you could discuss the anger about it taking so long and whether it's justified.
It will make it better and not crap (hopefully), then it is certainly justified.
I loved this idea for a new series. I'd suggest increasing the timer to at least 20 minutes.
Btw I've never been a 3D Metroid fan (I'm a 2D Metroid fan instead) but the moment I saw that Metroid Prime logo at the 2017 Nintendo Direct, I knew it was going to be a big deal. I am very curious to see what Nintendo has in store for us in this 4th entry, which is saying a lot considering that, again, I was never interested in the Prime series to begin with. Also, a few months ago I finally played Metroid Prime Remaster and I was blown away by the quality of it. If that's what Retro Studios can do with a remaster, who knows what they can do with a fully fledged sequel? It just gives me more confidence that yes, Metroid Prime 4 is going to be one of those big games for Nintendo regardless of when it is released. Will it be a GOTY contender like BOTW and Odyssey? We'll see when it comes out
I hope, Metroid Prime 4 needs the goty title to make Metroid (the series) relevant in sales.
I don't think 15 min is enough lmao
My inspiration for this series is to somewhat emulate some of those ESPN sport shows. I’m open to adjusting the time though.
Yeah i definitely see your idea. I really hope you do some more.
@@AndresRestart I see...an interesting direction to take it, I will bow out of these videos as sports shows can burn in hell lol.
Metroid could be Nintendos story driven horror series. Just imagine the core gameplay of a 3d metroidvania with amazing story driven cutscenes and boss fights(just keep samus silent). And a boss that chases you across the whole game kind of like mr x from re2 remake. I mean metroid was inspired by alien. A story driven horror movie.
Hear me out: a lot of metroid games undersell cuz they come out at the tail end of their respective consoles. So Prime 4 as the last game for switch might be a HUGE mistake. Another point to consider: Marketing. Nintendo never focused enough on giving metroid the right type of marketing, and they never made a point of putting Metroid on the same level as their other franchises. Also, while Zelda and Mario have consistent realeases, Metroid tends to have years and years without games, and i can see how this affected the series popularity over-time. Nintendo has to mantain a consistent schedule of metroid launches
I actually feel it was heated enough to be interesting but stayed respectful enough that the sight and point of what was being argued wasn't becoming lost or forgotten. I think keeping a balance would be good for that reason, otherwise it would just be two dudes yelling at each other which would be funny but then nothing would really be getting discussed.
Give it a Breath of the Wild like trailer, success guaranteed
This actually seems like a fun idea! I think for the sake of discussion, 30 to 35 minutes would be a good length
Confirmed Nintendo Prime is a metroid hater, and frankly, how dare he. For real, though, i like this kind of discussion. I would be interested to see more on different topics
I mean, since the initial MP4 announcement, I bought 2 houses, got 2 kids, changed jobs 3 times. I'm a different person man. What a journey.
They revived a 16 year old twice before canned dead game. And released it only to be the best selling metroid to date.
If Nintendo could do Metroid 5 (aka Metroid Dread?, they sure as hell will finish prime 4
If they relesse it this year at the very ass end of switches life cycle when nobody is reslly excited by it anymore...then no they probably dont really care about it
Hmm interesting point. But what if they push it like they did Mario Wonder or TOTK?
@@AndresRestartI think that’s for the 2d Zelda game
A debate series is a good idea, but if you want it to really work it needs some focus. Some unsolicited advice from a seasoned debate league member. Do with it what you will:
- Open with a a "resolution", e.g., "Resolved: Nintendo does not care about Metroid." It gives the sides and stakes of the debate more clarity. Otherwise it turns into just another discussion.
- Give each participant a brief opportunity for an opening statement.
- Have timed rounds
- Ideally there would be a moderator
ngl, I think you did that well in this "debate," he basically hogged the debate with no pushback.
(Nate is also coping so hard if he thinks Kirby is that small, it's gotten way more support and in general sales than Metroid, Kirby is definitely higher tier than Metroid at least currently, him claiming it's not that high is just pure copium).
Don't think you defended metroid enough you should of give him hell 😂
Metroid Prime 4 will be the holiday game this year. 💯
lets just make sure to make it a heated debate aka Andres
bilbo baggins
Such a goat
Just to add some data to the argument about Prime 4 creating similar success for Metroid as BOTW did for Zelda...
The top 8 highest selling Zelda games aside from BOTW and TOTK sold an average of about 4.8 million copies, while the top 8 highest selling Metroid games sold an average of about 1.6 million.
BOTW sold 30.7 million copies which is about 6.4 times that 4.8 million average, so we assume Prime 4 will have a similar success rate for Metroid as BOTW did for Zelda 1.6 million times 6.4 would give it about 10.2 million copies sold.
I actually enjoyed the heated debate video. It would be cool to see more of these. Only criticism I have is that I wish the debate was a bit longer. Like instead of 15 minutes maybe it can extend up to 30 minutes so that way both sides can have enough time to provide enough arguments and points without feeling rushed.
I understand the idea of capping the video discussion at a certain time but also felt like you should let the discussion breathe and take the time it needed. I'm torn about length but like the idea.
If they want MP4 to sell they need to put the marketing dollars behind it to general population. I saw exterior wraps on public buses for God of War Ragnarok. Super Bowl commercial etc. And sustain the ads over time. If there's a (good) online component it could be updated over the life of Switch 2 to keep interest up. I'm hoping the game shakes up the formula the way BOTW did for Zelda (not necessarily open world but break the conventions). I'd prefer it to be a Switch 2 exclusive. To make it up to the fans only wanting it on Switch I'd suggest offering Metroid Prime 2 and 3 for free or a low price. But I think the number of fans upset about it would be vocal but very few.
IMO, to get things more heated - double the timer. 30 minutes minimum.
If MP4 is on a whole new level, why couldn’t it be a launch title? If Halo can get millions to buy an Xbox, I think MP4 can do the same! Idk, I love Metroid so I just want to see the game!
Halo is more of a action/shooter and metriod is more of a puzzle/exploration game, not really comparable
Every new entry in the Metroid series has the POTENTIAL to sell better than the last... that's the key... it all depends on how great the game is, the timing, the marketing, etc... with that said I do believe Prime 4 will sell better than Dread...
Nintendo has spent probably twice as much on Prime 4 than any other Metroid game. They need this to sell on a different caliber.
P.S. Nintendo does NOT develop the Metroid games, Retro and Mercury Steam does.
You finally made it a heated debate in the last couple minutes 😂 hope you guys had fine. I sure did
oh yeah great idea for a series!!
We should find something we disagree on soon 👀

Love the HEATED debate format! I definitely could see you establishing a precedent for this and it heating up even more in the future as you and your guests get more used to the idea.
BTW what do you think of the new game JUDAS?
Im looking forward to this idea i like hearing both sides
I bought super metroid the day it came out. I was in high school at the time. No matter how much I told people Super Metroid was incredible no one cared. All my friends cared about was mario kart and mortal kombat.
Man, that got real violent real quick...
When MP1 was announced it was a long side Mario Sunshine, and Twilight princess. At E3. .it was a big series back then .
Also remember alot of people hated the Other M.. mainly because of voice acting I believe..that proves there is a fan base
"alot of people hated the Other M.. mainly because of voice acting I believe"
No lol, there was a lot more to it than that. The voice acting was very minor compared to the other issues that plagued it.
@@IamCanadian3333 as for me and what I heard the story was weak .
Gameplay was divided.
I didn't like Samus talking and being weak .sure it's makes her more human .be we wanted strong silent type female ..a badass .
Gameplay was ok for me level design was great and monster was great. Gameplay time .great.. graphics.. great..
This is fun and a great idea for a video. Thanks guys!
First off, I like these types of videos, keep em comin. Second for the most part I’m with Nate, at most I can see Prime 4 selling in the 3-5 range cap. However I DO think it CAN reach 10 mil sales by appealing more to the casual and or multiplayer crowd but I know at the point the game will probably be something a sizable group of the core Metriod fans will have a problem with
Yeah its a tough balance. There are things like Elden Ring that have a mainstream audience now, and I think its a nice blend from older Souls games… not everyone agrees though.
Love this format, keep up the good work guys!!
Let's play the betting game, which gets an announced release date first? Metroid Prime 4 or Silksong
I just hope that it's comes out on Switch as a cross gen game because I'm not ready for a Switch 2.
Great video Andres! I think this is a great idea for a video series. I like the idea of you debating other CZcamsrs on certain Nintendo topics. 😊
Now I just gotta find people I disagree with haha
In my opinion no otherwise they would rereleased the Metroid Manga's he're in the US like they did with the Mario Zelda and Kirby Mangas.
They restarted the development of the game. They lined Dread up with the OLED model.
If Nintendo didn't believe in the game, they wouldn't have delayed it so that alone tells you they care.
A launch game for the Switch2? I don't think so. I think it'll launch for the Holidays in 2024.
Also, Nate, Metroid Prime has a bigger budget than you think it does. Also, look at how long MP4 has been in development, and the big names who've been attached to this game.
Andre, I think Nate is right on one thing. Metroid sadly, hasn't proven to be a system mover, so honestly, I think Prime 4 will come out in the holidays this year.
Good conversation though, and both of you made some excellent points.
Also, as far as sales go, I think Metroid will sell over 6 million sales at least. Maybe 10 million if the game hits the right spot for people.
Kirby FL has sold over 7 million. Kirby is going to keep growing.
i enjoyed this debate, bring a little bit more heat and it would be perfect, i like the banter and lite hearted swearing at the end. keep the series going. heated means passion you can see how much you care. bravo andre
A open world Metroid game would be fire 🔥
Very fun new idea for a series ❤
I think Xenoblade would be a perfect series to debate at some point.
Would love to hop on a panel
I think Metroid Prime 4 will be the last big Switch game. Nintendo has nothing announced for the holidays and there has to be something that they have planned. Don’t think it will be cross gen but ig it’s possible.
Metroid nr 1🌟
Either way I love metroid I want mp4 so bad.
Botw was circumstantial as the game was well received during itself showing on the first demo run. They then gambled on the hype.
I dont care what Nintendo Prime has to say as if he can percieve all the timelines. I think if Metroid can innovate enough, draw out a fantastic multiplayer it will sell alot better.
Mr Restart hope you are having a great day 🎉🎉🎉
Nice video
it was enough heated during the timer if you wanted a true comment. (my other one is a reference to the end of the video, made me laugh)
We don't know dreads digital sales
20 million extremely unlikely. It might get 10 million. Somewhere in between 5-10 million. 8 million -ish?
You best temper your expectation, you are setting yourself up for disappointment.
@@IamCanadian3333 5-10 mil is tempered expectations tbh.
Out of the 100+ million switch users only 1 million bought prime remastered, literally no one bought it
@@randyrrs7028 And you clearly don't know what the word "literally" means.
No, clearly they woke up one day and said "Remember Prime 4? Yeah....what if we dropped it? I don't really care about it anymore." That sounds like something Nintendo would do lol. Obviously Nintendo cares, they wouldn't make a public apology video for it if they didn't, and if they didn't care they wouldn't have scratched what was made already and just released whatever the mess was from before Retro took over.
Don't forget Metroid prime remastered sold over 1 million..for a remastered game on switch
In the later half of the cycle of the switch
And? Out of the 100+ million switch users only 1 million bought it, pretty much no one bought prime remastered
At the gym putting headphones on ready to listen to this while I workout then I heard the name Nintendo Prime and close the video went

The perfect amount of heat 🔥
I will say Dread is a new high for Metroid but only by a little over 200k copies from Prime
Out of the 100+ million switch users only 1 million bought prime remastered, pretty much no one bought it
They definitely care… to the point where they don’t want to risk it failing. The Metroid series just doesn’t sell that well, and it has nothing to do with 2D or 3D.
In fact, Super Mario Bros. Wonder has already sold 10-11 million units as of December 31, 2023. 2D sidescrollers can sell incredibly well. Metroid just doesn’t.
Out of the 100+ million switch users only 1 million bought prime remastered, pretty much no one bought it
I agree with most of what Andrei has to say about the potential success of MP4, but I don't think it's going to hit 10 million. I think 5 million is very achievable, and could get upwards of 8 million if everything goes correctly. But as who sees this as one of Nintendo's best properties and only bought a Switch for MP1's remaster, I'm also painfully aware that Metroid has always cast a long shadow on the gaming scene while being under appreciated by gamers. Metroid deserves to be selling +10 million copies, but it feels like a pipe dream for a series Nintendo has never really understand to begin with.
Out of the 100+ million switch users only 1 million bought prime remastered, pretty much no one bought it
@@randyrrs7028Metroid Prime 4 is a lose-lose situation for the series. Being a cross-gen title will hamper the game's performance on the next system and put an unnecessary burden on the fragile Retro Studios. On the other hand, being strictly a next gen title only will hamper its ability to sell well.
Nintendo Prime is, of course, the official Nintendo Metroid Prime 4 channel. 😂
Retro estudio need to be haker now
Metroid prime 4 isn't a 4th install its a re boot a huge ass re boot
In all honesty no.
satoru iwata cared, but doug bowser is a villain so id say current nintendo doesnt care
Does Nintendo care about Metroid Prime 4? They care about it as much as Nintendo fans care about it. Which is not as much as Zelda or Mario. Metroid has never been a truly huge seller for them. It's a modest hit. Successful enough to keep around. But if you expect them to treat the franchise like it's one of their most important, you're delusional about how gamers show support. It's not on twitter or youtube. It's not on forums. It's not social media. It's sales. Period. Nintendo isn't going to treat it as if it's on the level of Zelda because their fans have told them otherwise with their wallets.
This needs more swearing.
I’ll keep that in mind 🤣
Nintendo released Metroid Prime Remastered the same weak Hogwarts Legacy was coming.
Nintendo either has tremendous faith in it, or wants it to die.
nintendo is japanese, they pride any game they put out (maybe not peach showtime, donno)
Ya if Nintendo doesn’t care about Metroid then I no longer care about Nintendo. Can’t justify buying a brand new console agin if I’m just going to get forced countless rehashes of more Mario and Zelda games.
I mean, Nintendo makes more games than just Mario, Zelda and Metroid
@@DDKoDoh you mean the farming Sims and third rate games like Splatoon and Fire Emblem..
@@groudonor12 lmao third rate. Sounds like someone who doesn’t give those game a try.
Metroid of the Wild - could be fun.
I agree haha. As long as it still feels Metroid.
Short answer: no.
Look how they treated one of the most critically acclaimed games in the series. Metroid Prime Remastered was a stealth drop at $40. No fanfare. Just, oh yeah, here ya go.
I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish. (Luke 13:5 [KJV])
And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: (Hebrews 9:27)
Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. (Matthew 7:13-14)
For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. (Romans 10:13)
No they don't care
I would be so sure about that it's aa above average selling franchise in its own right.
Hard to say, the Metroid franchise pretty much at deaths door before Dread saved the franchise. While Metroid is a above average selling franchise (atleast now) its still nothing compared to franchise like Zelda and Mario.
