  • The form factor of the brand new AEA KU5A was inspired by the classic RCA BK-5 microphone. Sonically, they are completely different microphones though. Watch our shoot of the two microphones to hear the difference and learn more about the specs of the KU5A from AEA's Josh Estock. Click here to order your AEA KU5A today: bit.ly/AEAKU5A

This is almost more of ad for that lovely BK5 they used. That's a good one!

Sick. I believe Alabama Shakes uses a pair of the originals as drum overheads for their live sound. Looking forward to checking these out!

The RCA sounds much more warm and pleasant to my ears. Not that the AEA sounds bad, but I like the RCA better.

Sounds nice, looking into it for brass instruments

Can you guys do a demo on the snare drum. I have been unable to find any demo's on the snare and the sales rep mentions it sounds great on snare

Hey Jeffrey Anthony - it sits really well on the snare due to its mid range detail, ability to take high SPL and it’s awesome off axis rejection. Really useful for snare as the hi-hats can be arranged in the null of the mic. Especially useful on stage 🙌

The KU5A is smoother sounding than the BK 5
