I'm a 49 year old male, prior military, AC/DC fan, classic rock fan but I found EBTG in the early 90's and to this day I listen to all their music. I obviously have their CD's from the 90's lol. Mirrorball is and will always be my favorite Masterpiece.
The Walking Wounded Album (as a whole set of tracks) is a wonderful flowing work of art that so-called 'greats' in the music business have struggled to achieve, even when concept albums were the de rigueur. Why Do I NEVER get bored of this LP when driving??? It should come with a warning for those with even the slightest hint of an addictive personality - once in / on your deck it is not going to get replaced by anything easily......Weld the door shut on your player once Walking Wounded is loaded....
Wow so many of us here with the same take from AC/DC to EBTG ! Still listening to these tunes after so many years! Seems they just get better with age! Sort of like fine wine!
For most of my life I've been an EBTG fan, but these lyrics always hit the hardest... for different reasons at different times of my life... when you hit your 40's this becomes less of a realization and more of comfort (if that makes any sense)
my dad told me this song reminds him romantic days with ma mom, how they walked and kissed under the moon. so i love this song and maybe i will tell my children too bout my personal story
*Thanks for sharing that short, but so sweet story. ✓* I'm a straight guy, but I assume that most straight guys don't care much (or act as if they don't care) for romantic little stories such as yours. But I'm a sentimental guy & I guess I just like reminiscing about memories such as the one you were gracious enough to share. I hope your parents last forever!
I've always loved this song from the beginning, wish the lyrics at the end were not "it's never gonna be alright" not very hopeful, still it's a beautiful song.
Yeah one of my favorite songs of theirs as well. and yeah you really should, in my humble opinion, re edit the ending of this video. Thanks for posting it though, good lookin'.
You never knew the teenage me And you wouldn't believe The things you didn't see, some pretty, some ugly And the lovely mirrorball Reflected back them all Every triumph, every fight, under disco light Come on girl, it's alright Come on girl, it's alright now Come on girl, it's gonna be alright now Well I guess some boys adored me But the one I loved ignored me And caused me in the end To murder my best friend And though I got her letter It never did get better And I got out of my head Then I joined a band instead Come on girl, it's alright Come on girl, it's alright now Come on girl, it's gonna be alright now Some good times I remember My birthday that September We lay down on the lawn And counted until dawn The stars that we lay under And is he still, I wonder The fairest of them all Mirror, mirrorball Mirrorball Come on girl, it's too late Come on girl, it's too late now Come on girl, let it all go Come on girl, it's too late now Come on girl, it's gonna be alright Come on girl, it's never gonna be alright It's too late now Let it all go It's never gonna be alright It's never gonna be alright This Is never gonna be alright This is never gonna be alright
Tracey sings like she knows you're broken and her voice is like a spiritual hug.

Are we related? With the exception of the military, I’m right there with you. I heard a few songs and was hooked. Carry on soldier!
@@davidupton4139 Hello!! Yea I was introduced to EBTG by a GF in the 90's and have been hooked ever since!
Same history sir!
Same. But my military experience didn’t prepare me for a broken heart.
Ss
The lyrics are amazing...one of my all-time favorites
2023 and i’m still listening to this ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Such beautiful opening lyrics. Often I just listen to that first verse. Delicate, precise writing. And, suitably enough, fragile.
This one just GETS ME
My personal favourite of theirs..............
Mine too

Lyrics so underplayed and band so underrated.
Really Love these Guys, Great Lyrics
In the FLAC versions of this song it's just so wide/deep sounding and it brought me to tears. I've heard this song for years, but it finally hit me.

I love that about it, though ... if you're going to make a heartbreaking record, make it heartbreaking.

Leo Gura juggling molecules
You never knew the teenage me
And you wouldn't believe
The things you didn't see, some pretty, some ugly
And the lovely mirrorball
Reflected back them all
Every triumph, every fight, under disco light
Come on girl, it's alright
Come on girl, it's alright now
Come on girl, it's gonna be alright now
Well I guess some boys adored me
But the one I loved ignored me
And caused me in the end
To murder my best friend
And though I got her letter
It never did get better
And I got out of my head
Then I joined a band instead
Come on girl, it's alright
Come on girl, it's alright now
Come on girl, it's gonna be alright now
Some good times I remember
My birthday that September
We lay down on the lawn
And counted until dawn
The stars that we lay under
And is he still, I wonder
The fairest of them all
Mirror, mirrorball
Mirrorball
Come on girl, it's too late
Come on girl, it's too late now
Come on girl, let it all go
Come on girl, it's too late now
Come on girl, it's gonna be alright
Come on girl, it's never gonna be alright
It's too late now
Let it all go
It's never gonna be alright
It's never gonna be alright
This Is never gonna be alright
This is never gonna be alright
