Two weeks of 6-hour nights? When we had a kid, I had 3 years of 6 hour nights, but awake for 1-2 hours in between two sleep blocks of 3 hours. My brain was mush after it.

In india, it is not about any work culture . It's about transportation bottlenecks and a culture of govt job preparations. In cities like Mumbai, you leave early at 5-6 am to catch the local train, reach office at 9 , work till 5-6pm , reach back home at 9-10pm , go back to sleep at 12-1am to get up again at 4am .

Well. That's the typical feature of developing county. It's fine because most industries are based on how many populations companies can use instead of people who have higher productivity.
However, it's inevitable to follow the above article if India want to beyond the limitations.

@@thefishstoreartist10 I hope you're right. But surely compounded by the fact that the maximum urban growth is happening in a few metros . There are 50+ metros in India. Unlike China , new cities are hardly coming up in India. People curse the local municipalities every now and then when they're stuck in crawling traffic of Kolkata , Mumbai , Bengalore , Delhi amidst poor air quality . As an Indian , I realise too much has gone wrong - patchy and ditched roads , rural-urban migration due to farm distress from rather specific areas in Indo-Gangetic regions, and urban slum sprawling after every 10 years of proper settlement , Indo-Gangetic region guys themselves come to metro give govt job exams with much hope and millions appearing for them being hopelessly competitive

@@udayviruppal3730I got your point. Here's the thing, the biggest difference between China and India is the power of government. Every infrastructure, industries, even office district was built by Chinese government. Well. It seems well organized. But, as you know, because of terrible dictator, Xi, China lost their boundless possibilities. Frankly, China is over.
However, India is not. India just took a one step. It's all up to Indians. The important matter of India is not on the Infrastructure to be honest.

@@thefishstoreartist10 Sir , you may be right with this that China is over for quite sometime but it's not unliveable , and China is surely one society that learns from mistakes , Indians have only recently started to do that for like 30 years but Indian Bureaucracy is downright balderdash , its the fortress of that old Indian socialism that is obscurantist and thoroughly elitist . Unlike the USA , Indian local self governments are not autonomous , self-esteemed in a way that fight backs against the Regional Governments, competes with other local governments . Indian constitution leaves it to the state governments themselves to devolve powers , tax heads , functions and no state government has extended all the powers specified in the 11th & 12th Schedules to Municipalities and the Local Village Govts(Panchayats) . By the Indian Constitution, every district or metro is supposed to have District and Metro Planning Committee consisting of locally elected officials . You'll be surprised to know that even Cities like Chennai(of the State of Tamil Nadu, which have assembly plants of luxury products like Mercedes and is still performing better than most states) doesn't have any of the two and instead have vested powers in the hands of parastatals of different facilities like water and sanitation which are basically bureaucratic public sector entities , who hardly care about local rivers , wetlands and their encroachers . That's how Chennai is vulnerable to both severe droughts , water stress and floods at the same time . Similarly , the Mayors who have 1-2 years of terms often conflict with the CEOs of the Municipal Corporations(unelected and career bureaucrats mostly in the hands of the State Governments) . The change came when in Kerala state , the Mayor writes the Annual Performance Report of the CEO - therefore the state in health and education credentials competes even with the USA. The Economist in a recent piece on India's local Govts, says that less than 1/2 of the urban settlements have a local self-govt like municipalities.

@udayvirupplal3730 Let me give you a piece of advice. Because you seem pretty smart, and as an intelligent man, it's pretty normal that you feel anger in your circumstances.
But I'm not giving you some philosophical advice. My point is every Eastern Asia, which have developed considerably fast, have been facing the long-term recession. The funny truth is the younger generation of Chinese, South Korean, Japanese all have some terminology which show how much they feel jealous of the people who was born in the humble era like you.
For example, I highly recommend researching my word if you want to double-check my advice is true. In China, it is called Tang-Ping. In Korea, it is called 5-po generation(it means young generation give up 5 things that is very important for human being) In Japan, it is lost generation, and they actually struggling for 30years.

Can't sleep especially due to people waking up very early and start disturbing by creating noise outside the home.
and some people sleep late, keeping late night disturbed by creating noise till late night.
