  • Hello...
First and foremost, thanks for watching my videos!
I created this channel from a suggestion another creator made to journal and chronicle their gardening journey.
We moved to South Carolina from New York 7 years ago. Since moving to South Carolina (Zone 7b), I've discovered there are some similar yet dissimilar differences in gardening.
    For instance:
    1. Climate - The growing season in New York pretty much ends around October 15th. In South Carolina we plant year round because the ground is not prone to freezes. That provides the opportunity to plant cold tolerant plants such as violas, pansies, and camellias etc. I especially like and have planted the traditional southern shrubs Sunshine Ligustrum and Loropetalum. I discuss these plants in my videos.
    2. Soil - We were so spoiled in New York! The soil there is black or brown; rich and nutrients. We could literally propagate plants straight into the ground with little fuss. We could plant it, water it (repeat). Here in South Carolina we have the dreaded red clay soil! I didn't really appreciate how hard it can get until I went to plant a spike for a Christmas light in our front lawn. I needed a mallet to drive it into the ground! Lol! Not to mention that clay soil retains water. I have to constantly remind myself to amend the soil when planting and to plant root balls of my plants high (above soil level).
    3. Heat - I will leave it at that! Lol...
Thanks for tuning in to my channel! I look forward to your comments as you take this journey with me!

Lol! Thanks for watching! It smells worst in the evening. I apply it as the last thing I do before bedtime. It only needs to be applied once in a while. Maybe after a heavy rain. Even the residue is pretty potent! The deer know they're literally "playing with fire" if they dare taste it. 🥵🥵🥵
