The Gretsch Silver Series Ash side snare is the perfect complement to any drum set or percussion rig. The 10-ply Ash formula shell combined with the convenient Gretsch GTS mounting system creates a snare with a piercing back beat and convenient mounting options.
Snares were recorded flat and mixed flat without EQ, compression, or effects.
Snare top mic: Shure SM57
Snare bottom mic: Shure SM81
Overhead Mic: Shure SM81 (in X-Y Configuration)
Recorded with Presonus Digimax D8 preamps into Digi 002.
Mixed using Apple Logic Pro 9.

Recently bought this drum underwhelmed by the quality control coming out of China, the powder coating on the bottom hoop looked like it was done by a child and the bolts on the but end of the strainer look industrial not realy sleek as you would expect from a prestigious company like gretch!
