Grief can ravage us like no other. I was recovering from losing our baby son and found my husband who died by suicide, leaving me our 5 children to raise alone. No warning, no signs. Just 4 weeks later was my mother was diagnosed with terminal cancer, so I was thrown into her care, while in shock & barely able to function & right after she died, my best friend died suddenly. I went from a wonderful, secure life, being so lucky to have such amazing people so close to the world shattering and facing getting 5 kids through more loss than any child should endure. Processing multiple grief and getting children through it is not easy. His honest, comical explanation of hugs during grief...I love it. So accurate!
I do feel your pain, as I had also a happy secure life only as recent as 2018. However in 2019 my husbands mother died suddenly. He was devastated. I had to pick up the pieces and it exhausted me. Shortly after in April 2020 my own beautiful mom died suddenly as well from undiagnosed cancer in hospital. I am still in pieces and I have gone from being an attractive, outgoing happy go lucky girl, to a downtrodden, miserable, dowdy, overweight mess. The grief has consumed me and I am just surviving not living.
@@desertrose1226 So sorry for your loss 💗 Losing your mother (at any age) is very traumatic, as I discovered 9 years ago. Please know that she would only want for you to be happy and living your best and healthiest life 💗 I discovered Anita Moorjani's books a few years ago and these helped me a lot. I think of my lovely mum every day and am so grateful for the time we had and all that she taught me. Try to focus on living your happiest, healthiest life knowing how happy your mum will be for you. Be kind to yourself, self-care is so important. I find walking in nature is very restorative. Reading is also helpful. Sending love 💗
You have endured so much tragedy and loss in your life 💗 It sounds as though you have been incredibly strong for your 5 children, they are so blessed to have you as a mother. Remember to look after yourself also, self care is vitally important 💗 Sending much love 💗

Wonderful interview. Lorraine Kelly was so deeply respectful and Bob Geldof so open hearted on dealing with his grief. I loved how Bob hugged Lorraine at the end of their interview. Such an awesome man, with a deep, deep kind loving heart and so inspiring for others who have gone through loss far too young. I was seeking inspiration after losing 11 special people within 3 years and then my Husband of 30 yrs left for a younger woman. That is what brought me here. I am very inspired.

My God, my heart is broken for this man. How honest and brave he is being in this interview. He has suffered more pain of loss than anyone should. I hope he is okay.
So sad to lose Peaches Geldof. I heard her speak in many interviews and felt she was intelligent beyond her years, also that she was destined for great things. What a shame for her boys and family. What a shame for the general public, as we will never get to know what contribution she would have made to society. She would have made a difference for sure.
I cannot imagine the trauma that this poor man suffered losing one of his daughters at such a young age. Peaches was so beautiful and I wish somebody could have saved her from that terrible day. Time does help to heal but I don't think anybody ever gets over losing a child.
What a tragedy he's been through .. losing his wife to another man then losing his gorgeous daughter .. how much does one have to bear?? Such a beautiful and humble man.
Suec C yes!!! Very charitable empathetic man and started even with raising the charity for the famine in Ethiopia by orchestrating why they didn’t getting that together to raise money. 10 years or so later his wife was having an affair with the lead singer of INXS & he found out and divorced her. They were going through a horrible custody battle, and during that time, a child was born of his ex-wife & her lover. Michael committed suicide, and then three years later Paula overdosed on heroine. That left Tiger Lily and orphan. Bob got his three girls full-time after the death of their mom and he also took on the beautiful child that Paula and Michael had together, Who was The love child of an affair his wife had. It’s one heck of a huge heart. Love the way that Bob looks at the whole situation and he says That Tiger Lily is a beautiful child. She needed to be with her sisters and didn’t want them separated. He’s right and honestly did the right thing by keeping Tiger Lilly with her sisters ( Half sisters- but who likes to use that term with family anyway?).
My very beloved sister, Denise, died from cervical cancer last October after a brave four year fight at the age of 45. We were extremely close and I feel I have lost my soul mate. To lose her was absolutely devastating, and I can empathise and identify with much of how Bob Gedolf describes his grief and how he copes. 'It finds an available space in the mind.'These things assault you.' 'Unimaginable.' Though Denise was my sister, and still is in my awareness, I cannot imagine the pain of losing a child. Bob Gedolf looks extremely forlorn, lost and confused, yet amazingly brave and forthright in his grief. My condolences to you and all your family, Bob x May your troubled, beautiful daughter now R.I.P.

Peaches had much to live for. It's heartbreaking and tragic, he lost his mom, his daughters lost their mom, and now Peaches' children have lost their mom, all at a young age. Makes you wonder how painful this world is and how most of us are barely holding on
Paula was bitchy about him " it must be hard to play pubs whilst someone's playing stadiums" he didn't want his children to grow up on the other side of the world and that's totally understandable considering they were into hard drugs . He always looked so joyus when he was with Peaches.

Aww I loved that hug they shared at the end of the interview. Bob seems like a really nice laid back gentleman and it's such a pity that he's had such a tragic life where he's been hurt and lost people dear to him. I think he's a fabulous man.
My life has taught me that so sadly powerful growth comes through suffering. I cannot think what great task you could yet be required to set your mind to, by my God you have suffered. When I heard about your daughter I felt shattered for you. In the months after I lost my mother it helped a bit to know people cared. Many people care a very much.
I'm touched by his words, as I have had one of those soap opera lives where I don't know I'm in the next episode until it happens. I just haven't had to do it in the public eye. We just keep plugging. Cheers, Bob.
When Bob mentioned about his life being episodic, I totally understood the concept. Basically your not actually the cause or directly contributing to a catastrophic event, but you're in the vicinity when it happens and it has a direct impact on your life. For some people this is constant. I actually felt a real kinship when he said that. Having survived two airline crashes (among other disasters), I totally get it. Over time, one actually develops the mentality where you hope for the best, but expect the worst.
@@reeves1982 People used to say that I had more chance of being hit by a bus, than being involved in an airline crash. I actually refute that statement for obvious reasons ( I also do not fly anymore). 😁
What a horrible tragedy for Sir Bob Geldof, this man of a pillar is such a beautiful soul to have strength taking on so, so much overwhelming obstacles in ones life? I believe Bob to be a very kindhearted man with strength as a pillar, but even pillars break and can be molded again having strength. I am aware and acknowledge Sir Bob Geldof tragedies. As we all; like he, have obstacles and storms in our lives, we battle them, get through it, and when we do that, we overcome it! This is what makes us strong to battle others storms in our lives; big, small challenging ones. I know I've had my share. For as Sir Bob Geldof, that is why I call him "a pillar". God Bless You Sir Bob Geldof!!
@Antonia Baker🙂....My heart goes out to you....I too lost the love of my life but had to find a way to heal from my grief, pain, loss Etc as I had his little girl to bring up and get her through her grief ( and a son from a previous relationship).I found meditation and Buddhist teachings that gave me inner peace and calm.I cannot imagine losing my children... then the pain would probably be unsurmountable...like you say.My daughter has never healed from the pain of losing her dad... my help, guidance and love haven't been able to take away her pain. I hope you are well and wish you inner strength, peace and calm...sending peace, healing energy and light to you💕🙏

So self-aware, honest and forthright...Respect! XXXX Such an interesting and unique soul, wonderful and refreshing to listen to in this world of constantly The world is a stage The best and only gift is to be true to yourself as the beautiful George Michael was, another unique soul xxx The beautiful and meaningful hug at the end was truly genuine. Id love to meet and talk with him about everything and anything. He has such depth and wisdom which is such a wonderful gift. Much love to Bob Geldof the Man xxxx
What a mature and intelligent man! He's been through a lot and keeps going. The lady in his life has helped him a lot. Bob needs Love in his life. I listened to his heartfelt interview on 60 minutes from way back and he loved Paula like I loved once and both of them left us. They way he described it is EXACTLY IDENTICAL as to how it feels. Everything is OFF, nothing has meaning or is exciting. It's just terrible losing your love. Then to turn around and adopt the child of his ex wife and her lover. He's so kind Peaches!!! OMG he lost his beautiful daughter. What a horrible, devastating blow. God, 100%, had and has a plan for Bob!!! I should remind myself of this fact. I suffered so much with loss but we can't see ourselves in the mix of it. How strong some of us are! Why them and not us? How to carry on? We just find a way. Keep going forward. Bob I hope he sees this! Your a wonderful human being! May the Lord bless you and keep you and ALL YOUR LOVED ONES. JESUS PROTECT THEM ALL SO BOB DOESN'T GO THROUGH MORE. PLEASE. AMEN❤
I can identify with him when he talks about suddenly being overwhelmed by emotion which hits you out of the blue. It used to happen to me in the queue at the supermarket of all places. I suppose it was because I had nowhere to escape. You try to keep busy to avoid thinking too much but grief works in strange ways. It must be difficult for him to have to share his emotions under the public eye but I admire his courage talking about it so eloquently.
Omg it's like Hes lost every single important woman in his life, starting with his mum..it's all so tragic. Music must be his haven, sanctuary and healing. 🙏❤😊
He's been through hell. I really admire him. He's done so much in his life and lost so much but he keeps going, keeps his head up and keeps moving forward.
So sorry for you Bob Geldof. You have seen HELL and Horrible Heartbreak. I just lost my son and I lost my daughter last year. I don't know where life is or where mine sits within it. You blub whenever you have too. It hits you and it comes in waves. I am so very sorry for your losses. God Bless You !!!
Saw Bob play the Queens Hall, Widnes, early 2000's, not long after Paula died .. he was in Kelly's bar, across the road, having a pint with locals, before the gig, wearing a beautiful brown, pinstripe Armani suit .. and an old T-shirt . I've been to many concerts but this was amazing .. Bob and his Celtic rock band nearly brought the roof down 🎼🎸🎻🪕🎷🎼
i have always worked in central london and for years i have always seen Bob, he has always been a lovely man, someone who seems genuine and sincere, life has given him lots of trials and tribulations and i am amazed at how he has managed to carry on. I also remember Paula, she was glamorous lady but of a colder nature, Bob i think is more suited for his present lady, i hope that the future for himself and his family will be a happier and better one. Shame about Peaches, she was an intelligent lady, but we all have our times to go and if we dont go one way we go another so maybe she was only meant to be here for a little while.
Oh Bob, been there....when that sense of grief for your adult child occupies you and you crash inside - a pain I wouldn't wish on anyone.....you are such a good guy, your kids are a credit to you, may God continue to help you through this very difficult time! You are amazing!! x

@@reeves1982 People used to say that I had more chance of being hit by a bus, than being involved in an airline crash. I actually refute that statement for obvious reasons ( I also do not fly anymore). 😁
That's understandable. But I'd go with the odds of it never happening again.
Lovely interview. Loved Geldof and his music since I was a kid. Hope he's in a good place now and his grand kids are OK
Wonderful man - could listen to him for hours. In pure admiration of you Bob!! So sorry for your loss x
This is the best comment section no hate just love for this legend R.I.P peaches

Graceful under unimaginable loss... just want to surround him with love and healing energy
A fantastic man one of Ireland's best RIP Peaches
He is. 🌹
Super great guy. Sir Bob . stay just the way you are. The world needs some more of you
❤️ these beautiful accents!!
This great man has been through every possible kind of tragedy in his life. I don't think there is anything that can hurt him anymore.
My heart goes out to this beautiful man. Like him i lost the love of my life and then a child. Nothing can heal the pain.
I hope you are well and wish you inner strength, peace and calm...sending peace, healing energy and light to you💕🙏
❤Sending love to you. Mrs O England 🇬🇧🙏
This poor man has been through Hell and back a few times, I only wish Peace, Love and Happiness
i really feel for this guy, he has gone something unimaginable for any parent to go through. i can't and won't try to understand what he went, or is going through. first Paula, now peaches. how do you get through some like that. my heart and prayers to you Bob
Never realised how lovely this man is.. total respect
So self-aware, honest and forthright...Respect! XXXX
Such an interesting and unique soul, wonderful and refreshing to listen to in this world of constantly The world is a stage The best and only gift is to be true to yourself as the beautiful George Michael was, another unique soul xxx
The beautiful and meaningful hug at the end was truly genuine. Id love to meet and talk with him about everything and anything.
He has such depth and wisdom which is such a wonderful gift. Much love to Bob Geldof the Man xxxx
I like Lorraine, shes a very genuine person. Bobs a good bloke too, been through a lot.
I can feel with Bob :( Poor him. RIP Peaches. Always in my heart :(
What a mature and intelligent man!
He's so kind
Peaches!!!
PLEASE. AMEN❤
Dear man, may goodness and mercy follow you now. ♥️🙏♥️
This was an awesome video thank you to who put this up again it’s 2020 I loved it
Bob X bless you luv x 😘 hope life is kinder to you and your family now X I can't even begin to imagine what you have all been through X 🥰❤️💞💖
I remember meeting bob a few months ago at whitstable beech in the UK and all the people following him made me smile cause of all his work.
Omg it's like Hes lost every single important woman in his life, starting with his mum..it's all so tragic. Music must be his haven, sanctuary and healing. 🙏❤😊
Well done Lorraine, letting him speak, I was waiting for the the interruption and you didn’t do it
Such a lovely man. And been through so much heartache. What a man
God bless him
He's been through hell. I really admire him. He's done so much in his life and lost so much but he keeps going, keeps his head up and keeps moving forward.
LOVE AND LIGHT TO YOU and your FAMILY...
Sorry for your loss Bob.
what a great man, adopted and raised his ex's daughter. He has survived some horrible losses. He certainly deserves to be happy.
I just love Bob, he's a sturdy fellow. 💓🙏
Lovely Bob...much love in your sad sad loss ....wonderful man 🥰
Poor ma been through alot and he's such a nice on man x
Saw Bob play the Queens Hall, Widnes, early 2000's, not long after Paula died .. he was in Kelly's bar, across the road, having a pint with locals, before the gig, wearing a beautiful brown, pinstripe Armani suit .. and an old T-shirt .
I've been to many concerts but this was amazing .. Bob and his Celtic rock band nearly brought the roof down 🎼🎸🎻🪕🎷🎼
Sir Geldolf, you've been so tested all through the years. I wish for you peace and a happy life. God bless you and your family. ❤🙏
Thank you for this I’m in USA it’s 2020 I’m still shocked with this whole tragic family
i have always worked in central london and for years i have always seen Bob, he has always been a lovely man, someone who seems genuine and sincere, life has given him lots of trials and tribulations and i am amazed at how he has managed to carry on.
Beautiful and dear soul. Bob , life is so hard x
You've found dead love . So happy for you! 💓💕💓💕💓2019 xxx
My heart goes out to him. He's been through so much. Prayers for him.
Totally agree, and he is extremely a wonderful kindhearted soul.God bless Sir /Saint Bob Geldof!
Oh Bob, been there....when that sense of grief for your adult child occupies you and you crash inside - a pain I wouldn't wish on anyone.....you are such a good guy, your kids are a credit to you, may God continue to help you through this very difficult time! You are amazing!! x
Bob Geldof is an irish/English iconic legend, i am so sorry for his loss, he wears his heart on his sleeve and rightly so. ❤ God bless. X
Irish
Thank you Sir..Bob ..what a great interview and inspiration
Talent , success, creativity and fame . Yet still, comes hurt ,pain , betrayal and loss. A life of peaks and troughs , Sir Bob .
this man has done so much good for the world yet has been dealt so much heartache, some times it makes you think the more a bastard you are in life the better the luck you get, never change bob you diamond.
What a caring and emotionally strong soul he is.
💝
I have the utmost respect for this man. Everything he has been through & always handling it the right way. He is a very selfless man. That's very rare. Bless you Bob Geldof because you are a very remarkable man. I'm very blessed to have such a beautiful & remarkable man in my life too.
I've always admired Bob!s open eloquence , for a man so evidently burdened by excruciating pain .. it's amazing he is still here
Am glad he's still able to love and be loved, capable of laughter and finds pleasure / solace in his music. Saw the Rats & hung out backstage several lifetimes ago
absolute respect for the mans grief, talent, and loss of his daughter.
Wow....I can't even imagine how much pain that man has enjoured...... How strong has he had to be for his loved ones....I am a proud Dublin man in awe of this
Man.!.. may the road always rise to meet him.!
So much love and respect for this gentle man.
I agree such a great man so kind and empathy. He's been through hell but still such a great man 👨 💙 ❤️
You are so lucky Lorraine, I would LOVE to be hugged like that by Sir Bob Geldof. X
The tragedies in this mans life are etched in his face and his eyes for us to see. How fortunate we are that he shares his pain with us.
Wow so true! 😢
