- My family and I left everything we owned in Australia and booked a one-way ticket to Malaysia. In this video, I explain why we did made that decision and also give you a little glimpse of what our new life in Malaysia looks like :)

Let me know what kind of videos you want to see while we are in Malaysia! For the internationals -- what kind of topics/things would you like to know about Malaysia? For my fellow Malaysians, what would you like to see on this channel?
Comment down below! ❤
Met this Malaysian Chinese couple in their 60's at Perth airport to board flight back to KL. He said they were there visiting daughter and family. Been there for a month and just cant wait to go back. I asked why?...He grumpily said " ..aiyaa, everything I missed..weather, food. My nasi lemak, roti canai, idli" 😂....wife added, " and eating with our hands without people judging"😂😂
@@whoshere767 😂😂😂 I can’t tell you how many times I’ve dreamt of roti pisang during my uni days! But like I said in the video, I love Perth!! Just needed a change :) Also wanted my son to spend more time with my parents. Where are you based at? Malaysia or Perth?
@@adriannoniss Malaysia. Hubby's from Sunshine Coast so we go back to Oz every now and then. He's quite settled here, too 😄 Roti pisang is yuummmmm
@@whoshere767 That's awesome... SO YUM
And the bumguns, for me. Finally I can stop wasting paper and feeling unclean all day.

*Not surprising... my friend migrated to Australia and now regretted very much. Malaysia may not be perfect but she's the best.*
@@apakansaja8505 I guess it’s preference at the end of the day. I mean don’t get me wrong, like I said, I love Australia. I just felt like it was perfect timing for a change ☺️ Malaysia is GREAT though 🙌🏼
I migrated to my kampung...if I got bored, I take a trip to the my own house in the city...along the way, I drop by a warong or kedai makan to take rest while sipping coffee...wow..what a life!...
@@xeedsenterprise505 Ahaha sounds like the life!
I’m planning with my wife (who is Malaysian) to move and live in KL next year . Been working my butt off to save up and invest. Can’t wait for it to happen !
@@JohnnyJohnJon83 oh yes sir! Next video is going to be in KL! Where are you based at right now?
@@adriannoniss Sydney . I’m actually flying to KL for a couple of weeks on 2nd of August . You will love Malaysia , I’ve been going back and forth for 15 years and I am still not bored of it . I’m also planning to work remotely in Malaysia next year.
How much saving do you need to be able to living in Malaysia , I know you can’t work over there if you are not a residential . I want to go visit there when have time.
@@jingjingkong4560 this really depends on your living expenses but there is also requirements now to live in Malaysia if you don’t get a work VISA there. You will need to refer to the MM2H program guidelines which has been changing back and forth recently. It’s easier for me as my wife is a Malaysian citizen but if I was not married to Malaysian I would have to have a certain amount of available and buy a property to get a special VUSA to live there long term.
Curry in Malaysia is pure and unadultrated. I ate curry in Sydney once, it is sticky, they put too much corn flour in the mixture. The same with curry they put as sauce in UK fish&chip, so diluted and sticky, so unappealing.
They cannot beat the Indian and Malay curry in Malaysia; so strong and creamy.
Yea nothing beats the OG food 😤
My American 🇺🇸 hubby also loved Melaka. We met alot of expats that enjoyed Melaka like us. Melaka also have an international school so our kids don’t have problem with international education. All places nearby so that’s a plus..
Oh wow! What school did your kids go to? It might have been the same one as me during my schooling years 😃
Fellow Australian here living in Malaysia. Let's be honest Australia has become extremely expensive on all facets, with housing, groceries, utilities you name it. Not to mention in certain parts ' particularly Perth" the crime and drug use is rampant. People in general are impatient, no manners and let's face it, a little bit racist!
The education system has also lost its mind, and is no way a comparison to what the likes of Malaysia or Singapore for example can offer. Personally the best thing I did was uproot my family and move to Malaysia. The people here I believe are what truly make Malaysia great!
They are kind, helpful, considerate, friendly, and unlike Australia...Malaysians don't judge you on your race, colour, or religious choices.
This is a country that truly embraces multiculturalism and makes it work.
Australia as a whole can learn a lot from the beautiful country Malaysia and it's people.
I sincerely wish you and your family every success here in MY and don't look back!😊
Thank you for your wishes! Like I said though, our time is Malaysia is temporary. We love Malaysia BUT we also love Perth very very much... Who knows though... Im very open to the idea of one day moving here for a couple of years. We just dont know when. Our plans are all up in the air. I guess that's what makes this whole stage of life such an adventure! Thanks for being a part of it ❤

LOL, there you go, always have a Plan B in case SHTF.
I know of a lot of Malaysians migrating then retiring to their birth country, but they don't lose their options to "escape" back to their 2nd country.
I miss Melaka too. My home. My childhood. My friends. My family. So grateful to be a Malaccan, always and forever!!!!

How much does a supermarket stacker earn annually in M'sia?
IIRC, basic pay for the unskilled in AUS is about AUD 38K annually, after taxes.
Government pension for the elderly is about AUD 29K annually
Im Malaysian living now in Italy. I cannot put in words how blessed we Malaysians are. Seriously. Cost of living, modern and cultured. Great food. Friendly people. Only when you travel you realize all this. Kudos to you. I cant wait to go back for a period of time. Maybe when i have grandkids soon I might decide to go back for good.
LOL, with local pays I doubt you will be able to travel internationally often. But with an Italian pay, I'm sure you can afford to travel back to M'sia more often.
Hey, fellow malaysian christian here, hope you enjoy Malaysia!
What’s good brother! 🙏🏼🙏🏼
Wow it’s a trend now. I’m malaysian with british family, also planning to go back to Malaysia next year (i give my kids one more year, so they’d remember their childhood here in scotland). And i see lots of similar comments from malaysian abroad, planning to go home. It’s also interesting to know that you find to be more ‘connected to God’ in Malaysia?
Yea it seems to be the trend right now. I wonder what’s causing it… And It’s not that I feel closer to God in Malaysia, I just felt that life in Australia was getting too comfortable and moving to Malaysia was a perfect reset - that on top of the lease ending haha. 😂

I felt like religion more easier or honest to keep up in Malaysia. My granddad used to have a group of friends made up from various ethnic and religion including native Malaysian Jewish. They used to spend lunchtime or coffee time together frequently. I still remember being told by them to not forget solat (pray) by my non-muslim granddad friends. Bless all of them.
That's awesome!

I have a question. Why Malaysia instead of other Southeast Asian countries? Enjoy your change of life in Malaysia.
@@afifi-my Really great question! We intially considered doing a tour around Asia like Bali, Thailand, SG… But we decided to keep our travels in Malaysia for one main reason - family support. My parents are in Melaka, my uncles and cousins are in KL… Also, Malaysians speak English! We were in Jakarta a few months ago and it was tough to navigate the language barrier 🥲

@@adriannoniss I was too lol. Talk shit about my own country on daily basis and fantasized about moving overseas. Had a reality check during my two weeks trip to Australia. In Hobart on the fourth day. Can't take it anymore, so I flew back to Sydney, went to a local mosque runned by Malaysian Malay community just to quench my cravings for Malaysian food. Same thing happened while I was on a trip to the UK. On the 7th day, right after watching Liverpool v Southampton match, immediately flew back to London for a dose of Malaysian food that night.😂
