Trains at Blackburn - 21/02/2023

Filmed on 21/02/2023. Moving along to another brand new trainspotting location of which this station connects for the Settle & Carlisle Railway, Greater Manchester and beyond via the Calder Valley Line onwards for Leeds and York and for Preston to Blackpool North. This is our first visit to Blackburn (Season 10 Episode 6)
This busy junction station doesn't only connect for the listed lines above but also for the branch line to Colne. The news that the line could be reopened through to Skipton which I believe they have the funding and grant to do so in the future. This will put Transdev Colne to Skipton buses at risk but for now, they are in safe hands.
The station can also see some freight variety running through Blackburn which some do run via the Settle & Carlisle before joining the West Coast Mainline just south of Preston.
Northern is the main train operator at this station which they run daily services linking through to Merseyside via Manchester Victoria to Kirkby. Although, most services do tend to start from Manchester Victoria. Also, it has seen in the past the Dales Rail service which links Blackpool North to Carlisle via Settle & Carlisle.
