Thanks to your videos I discovered Onyx. Now my church has the NX wing and it's awesome. I agree Onyx really is the best Pro grade software experience that also happens to be really cost effective.

Because of you vids i now own a nx touch. Onyx is nice. But how can i create multipart fixtures?

I feel that Chamsys is probably the better choice, obviously its up to preference, but with Chamsys you get 64 Artnet Universes for free, and its incredibly powerful.
Especially when we are talking about pro grade gear, I honestly consider chamsys much more in that world than Onyx.
And I would like to point out that software designed for people who are just getting into the industry is inherently not a professional solution.
Chamsys also has a built in pixel mapper, its even capable of doing 3D pixel mapping.

I see Chamsys and ONYX as very close too. But for my audience, I find that ONYX is a better option for most of my viewers.

If I got 2 Onyx Consoles, and plugged them into the same computer, will that work for more control and More universes. I have an NX-touch, and my friend has one of those, was wondering if we can make a bigger console with two consoles.

I have an specific question, i'm a solo performer (singer) and I would like to know if there is a way to control lights like Soundswitch does, but instead of using VirtualDJ I would like to use iTunes 'cause I use the iTunes remote on an iPad to launch individual songs... Do you know how could i do it?

I don't think so, I would look at various playback/backing track software that allows you to trigger MIDI when playing tracks. This is what you'd need to trigger ONYX from a track (at least, it's the simplest way).

Dylos! Mind blown. Had no idea they came out with a pixel mapper since I last looked at onyx over six months ago. I’ve been getting into Lightkey heavy but I’m thinking my future lies with onyx. Does it take a lot of computer horsepower to run Onyx with a visualizer like you have in your Dylos video? Would 8gb Ram, an SSD hard drive and a decent main CPU do the trick?

" Does it take a lot of computer horsepower to run Onyx with a visualizer like you have in your Dylos video?" - it truly depends on how many pixels you are controlling, and how many lights overall. That being said, it really doesn't bog down the computer a ton, as it's only crunching the video in 256x256 pixels, I believe. Since DyLOS resizes your videos into a smaller size, it really isn't power hungry.
The computer you describe would probably work, but again, it depends on the total amount of universes outputted. If anything, double the RAM.

Want an update on your journey bro, im working with two separate churches, one with Lightkey and one with onyx. I started on lightkey and have used it for like 3 years. Just started on onyx and honestly think its kinda crap in the ui and usability with it. The command bar can be ok ish to work with but is outdated compared to drag and drop and the features on lightkey.
