- What a beauty! Celebrity scents get a bad rap in my opinion and this one is a great exception. Strong, different, multi-faceted and interesting. :)
I always check your channel first before purchasing a perfume;) Bought this one as a blind buy after watching this video and couldn't be happier! Also purchased Samsara and vivienne westwood boudoir based on your videos

Great review! :) When I had bought this perfume I definitely caught the whiff of grass and leaves. I was a bit taken aback, but loved it soon after it dried down and settled. It makes me think of 1001 Nights as it has almost an incense quality to it. Nevertheless, a definite gem if folks like a deep scent.

I just ordered a rollerball of this and will get a big bottle if I like it, but it sounds very interesting. There are days I get tired of gourmand and frilly scents. Appreciate the in-depth review! (update - THIS IS AWESOME STINK! and your wonderful review turned me on to it - thanks!)

This was such a pleasant surprise for a celebrity perfume and i am glad i blind bought this and ignored some of the bad reviews in fragrantica, probably by her loyal sugar/candy fans. It reminds me of one of my mothers perfume that must have been heavy on patchouli,it definitely has that old quality heaviness which i love. Also oak moss as an ingredient is going to get more and more rear in the future so this is a valuable addition to the base of this beauty. As for the fragrance i can only say that i really can smell forest in it, can't explain how i just smell the cold dark forest in the night and the wet soil with fallen leaves and you know how sometimes the moon shines and gives it this dark green/blue color that we all wish we could capture in a photograph but it comes out just a black pic? yeah

I love strange fragrance too... it's uniqe. the notes sounds really nice, I just don't know how aokmoss smells like (maybe I do know...but I don't know it aokmos...) which perfume has this note? I love when you find cheap and nice perfume,that's mean you have a good nose...thank you so much!

I use the lotion on my elder son as he has dry skin - it is quite moisturizing - and he smells so beautiful (he has a natural floral musk sort of fragrance that ppl always commented on since he was a baby, thinking he has perfume on. ...when it mixes with this it smells so elegant!)

Idk why my like keeps disappearing. I specifically asked for two 100ml bottles of this for my birthday yesterday bc they cost only $10 U.S. I got the two bottles, opened one, sprayed it on the cap and immediately thought I had made a terrible mistake, the bergamot, papyrus, and oakmoss possibly were all I could smell. The classic "old woman" smell not many people like. I remembered it being this in your face when I first smelled it last year and both my bf and I hating it. But I calmed down and remembered the amazing lasting power and how nicely it transformed on my skin so I sprayed it once more on my wrist (around 4pm) thinking I'd have to wait at least a couple of hours to remember what I liked about it. To my surprise it instantly went from old woman to patchouli insence which I quite like, and throughout the day it continued to transform as I got hints of every note until right now that it is past 2am and I can still smell that same single spray after various hand washings and right now I am left with such a comforting sandalwood scent with a light hint of all the other notes. Definitely not a regret and this will be my signature scent for probably a couple of years since I have two bottles and all I will need is probably two sprays at most each time I wear it out. 😂
Glad you like it, it's certainly very different from most celeb fragrances. I get lots of vanilla too. Patchouli and moss can both be dusky old smelling notes (not old lady but, just a bit fusty) and oakmoss is used in lots of older compositions.
@@ouch110 I checked the batch number and my bottles are close to 9 yrs old but I think the scent has held up well, likely helped by the dark colored glass bottles with tight and secure caps and protective cardboard inserts. I considered returning them but I'm quite fond of the fragrance as you can probably tell by my extremely long comment. I doubt they'd have newer bottles to exchange them for since both that I got have the same batch code.
This is extremely inexpensive in a local store. I smelled it last year and the lasting power is extraordinary. At the time I was with my ex and he disliked it bc it is a very strong smell with just one spray on the skin. I could still smell it way later in the day and it dried down to a lovely softer but still strong fragrance. Even my ex liked the dry down smell. Now one year later this is still on my mind and I want it. I want Mugler Aura but cannot afford it for an every day perfume. This on the other hand I think would be perfect, even though it says 'nights' in the name I am about to turn 31 and this is feminine, mature (without being overly matronly), and interesting that I would wear it every day. My current favorite perfume is Fame by Lady Gaga but unfortunately it does not last on my skin. Hopefully I will be picking up Fancy Nights soon. I love the notes of sandalwood and patchouli.

Have you tried Halston Woman? Fancy Nights and Halston Woman are very similar.
Just picked up my first bottle of Fancy Nights the other day (blind buy), and I was shocked. They're practically sisters! :-p

Actually, no. :-) Halston Woman in eau de parfum is inexpensive, and you can pick up the eau de toilette for pocket change.

I'm getting the impression Fancy Nights is the olfactory equivalent of warm, parched & windless Arabian nights. Apparently the papyrus note smells like old books, imparting a sexy-librarian vibe(?) I personally love the musty odor of old books.
Bookish-deep-dark-foresty, Shalimar-esque due to its vanilla/bergamot combo & Angel-like due to its hints of dark chocolate in the drydown, per reviews. Plus a clean, smooth, NOT-hippyish/dirty patchouli, & a cozy powdery drydown. I'm considering buying it. Do you still enjoy FN? Or has it lost its appeal for you?
Ordered this yesterday! (£8!!!) ordered Fancy Love too, blind buys but cheap as chips so can't complain, both have fantastic reviews !
They do! Hope you like them. Fancy nights takes a bit of getting used to I think but, it's much more interesting than most celeb fragrances. :)

I used to hate this fragrance until i tried it! It packs a punch so one spray on the belly is enough! It softens on me once sprayed and it has a very adult old world element! I like it now 😁

Very lovely fragrance...a far second only to Chanel Coromandel which has Benzoin and Incense. Only other fragrance I find as exotic and mystical is Ron Marone's 'Sexy&Rich Women' which I cannot find anymore (not even on eBay!!!!)
I wear Fancy Love almost daily. It's amazing for such a cost-efficient fragrance. Should probably snatch up a bottle of this before I can't anymore. Been looking for something sultry, woody, and mysterious...

I received the gift set yesterday and according to the code it was made 2010. I had high hopes for this one but mine is a very weak scent and does not last long. :( Does this particular fragrance not age well do you know?
Oh really? maybe it got reformulated I mean, I review it many years ago. I hope not though. :( I would say it would age well. Fragrances with lots of vanilla tend to age well, and things that are deeper. Its only really citrus heavy frags that go reallllly wonky when they age. :)
It may be just my nose and the weather at the moment maybe. I will try again when the weather cools down :-)
How do you check the code for the age of the perfume?

Just purchased Fancy Nights & I have to say it's beautiful but with a huge 80's vibe, like YSL Opium & Estee Lauder's Youth Dew had a baby
It's cool because most celeb fragrances don't go down this route. Lots of patchouli too!

I brought this for $10 during a sale with purchase. I heard it is getting discontinued so I figured it was worth the price. I sprayed it on a night gown and wasn't impressed. The next night I wore the nightgown forgetting. Wow it was very nice. It is masculine but feminine at the same time, yummy. Im surprised you sold your bottle. However, my bottle is green. Maybe it has been reformulated...
My bottle was green also. :) Must just been the lighting. Yes, it has a masculine opening, but then a feminine drydown. It's very soft and vanillic in the drydown and sweet. It's cool I remember it well. :)

I went ahead and bought this and it doesn’t smell like something a woman would wear but I didn’t like the open at all but the calm down smelled pretty decent and it last a while. So I let my mama smell it and she liked it so I passed it off so I guess it worked out as a win

Hello! On the packaging Fancy Nights has not written that it is a scent for women. The smell of the smell expresses unisex. Do not be confused, the smell is a Tom Ford style, and Tom Ford fragrances are unisex scents. I love this smell FANCY NIGHTS I have many compliments from women and guys, and even more from guys.

I was wondering the same thing if fancy nights may smell like Emeraude which I remember wearing as a child in the 70's
I love Fancy Nights and absolutely see its similarities to Shalimar! It's definitely not in the vein of contemporary fragrances, though. Unless you've trained your nose to appreciate dark, heavy oakmoss, you would not "get" this.
when It dries down on me it smells like chocolate,kinda like the Angel one but stronger :)
+Me Shell Yes this does have some chocolaty tones because it has a massive amount of vanilla in the dry down. It's kinda cool!

it is like Fancy Nights by Jessica Simpson but the bottle's color is creamy white instead of green , and about the scent it is creamy smooth floral scent you can notice some citrus at the beginning because of the Bergamot , it is soft scent but last at least 6 hours .

Fancy Love share similarities with Burberry Classic Woman, but lighter, freshier ( not sure about the correct word here! Sorry, this is not my natal tonge) juvenile.....so pretty!
Shame the bottle looks so cheap -like a " In the style of" bottle..Her fashion range is so stylish.Not pride of place on anyone's dresser.

I agree, the bottle is not pretty at all even though the plastic cap is surprisingly heavy and doesn't feel extremely cheap. I only like the green color of the glass.

Yeah of course Men can wear it. :) This one is one of the most masculine celebrity fragrances marketed towards women I have smelled.
I think anything goes these days. Men wear women's scents all the time and I know women that wear men's scents. It's whatever you like.
